Romeo and Juliet AU (modern)

This is my first AU, so if it's bad, I'm sorry 😊😂

You were in the living room with your family; Tony, Natasha, Rhodes, T'Challa, Vision and Peter. Tony and Nat were chatting away about something, Rhodes and T'Challa were talking about politics and Peter and Vision were talking about their powers. You were happily sat reading a book when you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. Nobody had heard it and we're still talking. After looking at the screen, you saw it was Bucky, someone from the family your family hated. The two families were in an unsettling dispute about something silly and in the process, you and Bucky had fallen in love. It was secret of course, but you didn't, no, you couldn't hide forever.

He had asked to meet you at Starbucks; five minutes from your house, and ten from his. You obviously replied yes and looked around seeing if anyone wasn't concentrating fully in the conversation. They weren't. None of them would realise anyway if you left. So you got up and left, but quietly just in case they did notice.

After leaving, five minutes later you were at the Starbucks Bucky told you to meet him at. But, there was no sign of Bucky. You turned to your left when you heard someone call your name. It was Bucky. You smiled widely and ran too him and he engulfed you in a hug.

"I missed you, babe" you said into his shoulder, taking in his scent.

"I missed you too, doll" he said into your hair. He pulled away first and gave you a quick kiss on the lips.

"Shall we?" He put out his right arm.

"We shall" you took it and walked in. Luckily, no one you knew was there, and because everyone knew about this argument, if they saw you two together, it would ruin your relationship. You walked into the line and started thinking what to have. Bucky arm had somehow, sneakily, wrapped itself around your waist while you choose.

"What you getting?" He whispered into your ear.

"I don't know, maybe a frappuccino: it's warm outside"

"You're too right"

"How about you?"

"Erm, maybe an Iced Caffè Mocha" a few minutes after he said that, you were front of the queue and had ordered your drinks waiting for them.

"James!" The waitress called. Bucky went and got the drinks frowning as he came back.

"What's wrong?"

"How did they spell 'James' wrong?"

*time skip*

You and Bucky were walking through the park, holding hands and laughing at each other's jokes. The both of you had just calmed down from a joke Bucky told when you heard a voice above you.

"Really Heasell? Bucky Barnes? You could have so, so, so much better, but you chose him" Peter came down from a tree.

"Pete, what- what are you d-doing here?" You were shocked. Had he followed you here? Was he here already and you came at the wrong time? Questions ran through your head, but your train of thought was stopped suddenly by a loud noise next to you. You looked around and saw Peter had pulled down a tree branch and try pied to hit Bucky with it p, and succeeded.

"What the hell are you doing?!" You rushed over to Bucky as he sat up, looking fazed and dizzy from the hit.

"Teaching him a lesson. He doesn't deserve you Heasell, you're too good for him. He just needs to back off!"

"Peter, can't you see I'm happy with Bucky?" He was now off the ground and you were checking he was cut.

"No, you're not happy with him. He's playing with you. He'll mess with your heart, then tear it into a thousand pieces"

"I would never" Bucky argued.

"Please, Pete. Just leave us be" you pleaded.

"Just what until Tony hears" and with that he swung off, leaving you and Bucky in a park feeling shocked, scared and worried. Tony would kill Bucky, if he found out. You and Bucky rushed back to your house trying to get there before Peter, but he was already there. When you walked in, there was 11 pairs of eyes staring at the two of you holding hands. You both quickly pulled away and shuffled further away from each other.

"Care to explain?" Steve asked.

"It's a long story" you and Bucky replied.

"We've got time, all the time in the world..."
