(3rd of August, Home-tree) Zukika's POV

It's been eight days and it's finally my seventeenth birthday. I'm standing with my family as we await our honoured guests arrivals. Jake stands by my Aunt Grace. Just then five Na'vi ride into view. They dismount their Direhorses and I notice Kaname was holding the reins of two. One a young male the other was his.

Father greets the current clan leader Kaname's father. Before gesturing me to come forward and I do so. "Dem vin an meuia ultxa ngenga Tonowari" I say curtsying. (Translation: it is an honour to meet you Tonowari).

"You are more beautiful then my son described" he says in English smiling.

"You're English is very good" I tell him.

"Kaname has been teaching me and like my son, I am a quick learner" he states.

"Zukika" Kaname says smiling as he steps forward.

"Oel ngati kameie" I tell him. (Translation: I see you).

"Oel ngati kameie" he repeats kissing the back of my hand. "I've brought a gift for you" he states and waves a warrior forward. He brought forward the young make direhorse Kaname was restraining earlier. "I know Pale is getting on in her years and is now mainly used for training. So I thought you'd need a new direhorse for riding" he explains.

"He's gorgeous" I say smiling as I stroke the direhorse's neck. "What is his name?" I ask Kaname.

"His name is Jonah" Kaname states. "I thought we could go for a ride" he suggests. I look to my father and mother, they nod their heads. I smile turning back to Kaname.

"A ride sounds great" I tell him. I mount Jonah and bond with him for the first time. I could feel everything he feels as I close my eyes focusing on calming him. When I open my eyes Kaname had already mounted his direhorse. He takes off and I follow him quickly. We ride to the tree of voices and dismount allowing our rides to rest.

"So not wanting to pressure you, but have you thought of us being together?" he asks me gently.

"I've thought about it a lot in the last ten days" I tell him.

"What did you come up with?" he asks.

"That I can't keep punning after a taken man and that you care for me dearly. I care for you also and know I can grow to love you. But I'm not ready to settle down and we do not know each other that well. So if we were to court and in future mate. I have a few conditions" I state.

"What are they?" he asks me.

"We take things slow, get to know each other better. Spend some time in each other's clans. I want no pressure from anyone. This is our future, not theirs. If I decide you aren't the one for me, you'll let me go. Even then we remain friends" I tell him.

"I agree to them all, but there is one thing you must know" he tells me.

"Which is?" I ask.

"I won't give up on you" he states smiling.

"You always were stubborn" I say. "So how long are you staying?" I ask him.

"Father says I can stay the rest of the month" he replies. "When I leave, will you come with me to my clan? You said yourself we should spend time in each other's clans" he states.

"Sounds good, but know while you're here I'm teaching a dream walker the Na'vi ways with Neytiri. So sometimes I won't be able to spend time with you. But you are an honoured guest of the Omaticaya" I tell him. "Now you must meet my aunt" I add as I head over to Jonah. "Race you back to Home tree" I state and take off.

"Hey no fair!" he shouts as I laugh. He soon catches up, but I win the race. We dismount and place the direhorse into the paddock with the others. We find my aunt with her former students teaching them some more English. I introduce the pair and they hit it off. Thank Eywa.
