The Waterbending Scroll

(I'M BAAAAAACK!! So, here is a new chapter. Hope you enjoy.)

After the whole thing with the Winter Solstice, things have been somewhat quiet. After Aang told us about a comet coming by summer's end that will grant firebenders immense power, we are now on a time limit. Yay... But we are making good time. We are currently on Appa as he flies across the sky. Sokka was at the reins and I was leaning back against the saddle while I watch Aang pace nervously. Poor kid is going through it. "Would you sit down?! If we hit a bump, you'll go flying off! What's bugging you anyway?" Really? Asking that question, Sokka? "It's what Avatar Roku said. I'm supposed to master all 4 elements before that comet arrives." Aang explains.

"Well, let's see. You pretty much mastered airbending, and that only took you 112 years. I'm sure you can master 3 more elements by next summer-Ow!" I moved to be behind Sokka and smack the backside of his head. "Not. Helping." I state. I then get back in the saddle and face Aang. "Look, Aang, I know I can't relate to you with this, but trust me when I say that overthinking things is only going to make it harder. Like when I overthought when practicing with my weapons. I got a pretty bad cut that one time when I tried to catch my spear after tossing it into the air." I tell him.

He closes his eyes and I see him inhale some air. "I appreciate the advice, (Y/N). But I haven't even started waterbending, and we're still weeks away from the North Pole. What am I gonna do?!?" Okay, he's panicking again. I look at Katara and she smiles at me then looks at Aang and reaches out to grab his arm. "Calm down. It's gonna be ok." She tells him. Gently pulling him down to sit on his knees and face her. I cross my arms as I lean back to get more comfortable. "If you want, I can try and teach you some of the stuff I know." "You'd do that?" I smile at that. Katara has always been ready to help people and that's one of the qualities of her that I admire. "We'll need to find a good source of water first." They then look over the saddle to find a good spot. "Maybe we can find a puddle for you to splash in." Okay, that's enough of sass for now, Sokka. I stand up make my way onto Appa's head then toss Sokka back into the saddle. "Aah! Oof! Hey, you could have thrown me off Appa!" I sit down and grab the reins. "Please. If I wanted to, you wouldn't be talking right now." I respond. I look down then smirk as I found the perfect spot.

I had Appa land at a watering hole with a waterfall. I rest my hands on hips as I smirk. "Nice puddle." "Thank you, Sokka." I reply. Appa then splashes into the water and Momo screeches as he gets soaked. "Yeah! Don't start without me, boy." Aang says. When did he take off his-You know what? Nevermind. "Remember the reason we're here." Katara says to him. "Oh, right. Time to practice waterbending." "And, preferably, with pants on." I add. Aang smiles sheepishly then starts putting his clothes back on. "Great. So, what am I suppose to do?" Sokka asks. "You could clean the gunk out of Appa's toes." "Pfft!" I had to press a fist onto my mouth from laughing out loud. "So, while you guys are playing in the water, I'm supposed to be hard at work picking mud out of a giant bison's feet?" Sokka asks rhetorically. I take a deep breath and remove my fist from my mouth. "Yep. Welcome to being productive." I sass.

"Also, it's mud and bugs." Aang corrects. Sokka thinks for a moment, "Ok." He grabs the branch Aang offered him. "Well, I'm gonna do some stretching. I have been slacking a little since we started our journey. Hope you don't mind if I watch." I state as stretched my arms. "Not at all." Aang says.

Third Person P.O.V.

After getting settled, everyone was busy with their own thing. Sokka was on Appa's stomach as the bison floated along the water. He growls softly from the feel of the leaves on the branch between his toes. "Yeah, don't get too happy. You've got to do me next." Sokka responds sarcastically. Appa sighs but continues to float around. (Y/N) was doing some fist push-ups as she watches Katara and Aang. "This is a pretty basic move, but it still took me months to perfect. So don't be frustrated if you don't get ti right away." Katara says to Aang as she assumes a stance and start moving forward and back, swaying like water as she moves her hands in a pushing and pulling motion. Aang smiles as he sits cross-legged, paying close attention at Katara.

"Just push and pull the water like this. The key is to getting the wrist movement right." Katara instructs, bending some of the water on the shore. Aang then stands up. "Like this?" He asks, copying Katara. "That's almost right. If you keep practicing, I'm sure eventually-" "Hey, I'm bending already!" Aang interrupts Katara, bending wave that was larger than Katara's. "Wow! I can't believe you got that so quickly. It took me two months to learn that move." Katara says, sounding a little envious. "Well, you had to figure it out all on your own. I'm lucky enough to have a great teacher." Aang tells her. "Thanks." Katara smiles. "Way to go, Aang." (Y/N) cheers as she now is in a sideways spilt, propping her hand up with her hands as her elbows rest on the ground.

"Thanks, (Y/N)." Aang replies back to her. "So, what's next?" He then asks Katara. "This is a more difficult move. I call it 'Streaming the Water.'" Katara says. She then assumes a stance once more as she lifts some water out of the pond. "It's harder than it looks, so don't be disappointed if..." She says as she bends it between her hands but trails off as she looks over at Aang, who was actually doing better than her as played around with his water. Katara scowls and her water falls back into the pond. Aang returns the water back into the pond in a swirl motion.

(Y/N) watched it all as she was doing a handstand. She then lowers her feet onto the ground and stands up then claps at Aang's progress. "Way to bend, bud." She says. "Yeah, nice work. Though the over-the-head flair was unnecessary." Katara says, sounding bitter at the end. "Sorry." Aang apologizes. (Y/N) walks over and pats his head, "There's nothing wrong with showing off every now and then." She states but then bends down towards Aang's face. "It's just that Katara might be a little jealous by how much of a natural you are." She whispers to him. Katara clears her throat loudly, "Well, if you don't mind, (Y/N), we have more practice to do." She states. (Y/N) holds her hands in surrender then walks backwards.

"Well, don't stop now. Keep 'em coming." Aang says to Katara. "Well, I kind of know that his one other move, but it's pretty hard. I haven't even totally figured it out yet." Katara says. "The idea is to create a big, powerful wave." She explains. She then raises her arms and raises some water in the pond. Katara then concentrates too hard and this results in the water bursting and falling back into the pond. She grunts I'm frustration as she swings her arms down. "So, like this?" Aang then tries and bends a large wall to water. Which was right behind Sokka. "Aang!" Sokka says as he turns around and his eyes widen in surprise before the wave crashes into him, and he is knocked off Appa. Once the water clears, Appa notices Sokka no longer on him and Sokka rises out of the water with an annoyed look.

"Pfft!" (Y/N) covers her mouth again to hold in her laughter. "Looks like I got the hang of that move." Aang says, hands on his hips as he smiles proudly at himself. He looks over at Katara, but does not see her sour mood as her face is in a scowl. "What else you got?" He asks her. "That's enough practicing for today." Katara replies, looking away from Aang. "Yeah, I'll say!" Sokka adds. "You just practiced our supplies down the river." Sokka informs. "I got it!" (Y/N) runs off, taking off her shoes as she jumps into the river to gather some of their lost supplies.

"Uh..." "Don't bother. (Y/N) does not like letting things go to waste." Sokka tells Aang as the tattooed boy was about to ask. "Uh... Sorry. I'm sure (Y/N) will get some back. But we might need to replace some. Just in case." He says. "My life was hard enough when you just an airbender." Sokka complains then goes under water. A little after that, (Y/N) returns with some supplies. "The good news is I had saved some food. The bad news is we lost a lot of money." She says, placing the stuff on the ground. Aang scratches his head as he gives her a guilty smile. "Sorry." He then bends air as he blows it at her. She was dry though her hair was a little wild. "Okay, after I get my hair tamed, let's go get some supplies." She states.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Lucky for us, there was a village nearby. It was established by the sea and had a lot of venders, but also had a lot of shady-looking guys. I swear, I feel like they would swipe anything to sell for a good price. I kept a hand on my knife in case if they try anything. "Okay, here's the plan: we buy what we need then leave." I whisper to Katara and Sokka. They nod their heads and continue walking and I grabbed Aang by his arm to keep him moving because he was smiling like dork at everything happening around us.

Sokka and I went into a shop while Katara and Aang waited outside. Good thing Gran Gran taught me about bargaining, so we got supplies at a good price. Though, we were down to three copper pieces if my math serves me right. Sokka and I exit the shop. "We've got exactly 3 copper pieces left from the money that a king Bumi gave us. Let's spend it wisely." Sokka says. "Uh, make that two copper pieces, Sokka. I couldn't say no to this whistle." I look at the bison-shaped whistle. It even had horns on it. Okay, it is too cute for me to be mad at him for that. Aang then blew into it and it made a hissing noise, but it wasn't loud. "It doesn't even work. Ow!" I slap the back of Sokka's head. "Animals can hear at a different frequency than people." I inform.

Momo then growls and Aang stops blowing the whistle. "See? Even Momo thinks it's a piece of junk." I ignore Sokka. "No offense, Aang, but I'll hold onto the money from now on." Katara says. Aang gives it to her, slumping a little. I give him a pat on the shoulder, "Don't feel too bad. Appa was probably sleeping." I say to cheer him up. We then walk on, passing by the ships docked. "Earth Nation! Fire Nation! Water Nation. So long as bargains are your inclination, you're welcome here! Don't be shy! Come on by!" Not shy, just not interested. "Oh, you there! I can see from your-Ee!" I point my knife in his face. Just by looking at him, he is not to be trusted. And that ship he walked from, not getting a good feeling from it.

"Whatever it is you want to show us, don't." I state. "Now, now. I-I was just going to say how your clothing says that you're world traveling types. Perhaps I can interest you in some exotic curios?" He says. I only glare at him. "Come on, (Y/N)." I look over at Aang as he smiles at me. "It could be fun." He says. I look at him for a moment then sigh as I put away my knife. "What's are curios?" The silence was loud. "I'm not entirely sure, but we got 'em." The guy said then reached out to Aang but I grabbed his wrist, "We'll follow." I state then let him go. He smiles then walks to the ship.

We board it and enter a room with all kinds of treasures. I had to admit, it was cool. A beautiful golden necklace got my attention and I picked it up. I gently held it as I inspect it and smooth my thumb over the red gem that hung from the chain. "Pretty." I then remember something then grab my pouch and took the yellow gem out. I held it next to the red gem and couldn't help but notice how well the colors went together. They reminded me of... Zuko. No. Nope! I shake my head then place the necklace back where I found it and put the yellow gem in my pouch and attach it securely on me. I heard a screech, "Momo's not for sale." I hear Aang say. I look back and see a man with a parrot on his shoulder. Pirates. We're on a pirate ship.

"Yeah, so, we best be on our way." I say to the captain, walking over and wrapping an arm around Aang's shoulder. "Look at this, Aang! It's a waterbending scroll." Oh, come on. We were about to leave. I feel Aang walk away from me and I groan quietly as I follow him. We stand next to each other as we stand behind Katara. I cross my arms as I look pass her to see the scroll. "Check out these crazy moves." She says. The scroll showed a drawing of a man performing numerous moves. It seemed pretty basic if you ask me. "Where did you get a waterbending scroll?" The stole it. I move back as the captain grabs the scroll. "Let's just say I got it up North at a most reasonable price-Free~" He says, rolling it up and smirking.

He places it back in the slot where other scrolls reside in. "Wait a minute. Sea-loving traders with suspiciously acquired merchandise and pet reptile birds? You guys are pirates!" Sokka concludes. "We prefer to think of ourselves as high-risk traders." I clap my hands together, "Okay! Well, thank you for letting us look around, we will be taking our leave. Now." I state. "So, how much for the, uh, traded scroll?" Nope. "Katara, could I talk to you for one moment?" I smile widely as I wrap my arm around Katara and pull her away from the captain.

Once we were a good distance, I drop my smile and lower myself to whisper to Katara. "Listen, if there is one thing about pirates that I know is that they tend to think only of how much money they can get out of others. And two coppers is not going to get you anything with these guys." I tell her. "But they stole that scroll. And it could really help out my- I mean, Aang's training." I give her an unimpressed look. "We. Are. Leaving. Now." I state. "Even if you wanted it, I already got a buyer. A nobleman in the Earth Kingdom. But if you kids have 200 gold pieces on you right now, then the scroll would be yours." I straighten myself up as I glare at the captain. "Don't worry, I know how to deal with these guys." I look down at Aang as he said that. I didn't notice him walk over to us.

"Aang. No." I tell him. "But pirates love to haggle." He says with a smile. Katara gave him the money and I facepalm at that. Why can't they just listen to me? These guys are trouble. We only came here to get some supplies. That's it! "Aang, can we get out of here? I feel like we're getting weird looks." Finally! I remove my hand from my face. "Aye! We be casting off now!" I grab Aang by his arm and drag him behind me as we finally leave.

Finally, we were off that boat. "What was that all about, Katara?" Aang asks, I had let go of him once we exited the room. "Yeah, I was just starting to browse their boomerang collection." Sokka says. "I'll just feel a lot better once we get away from here." Wait a minute. "Hey, you! Get back here!" "RUN!" I shout. I grab Aang and hightail it. I let him go and look to find him, Katara and Sokka running then look to see all the pirates chasing us. We all turn and run past shops then make a right at the end. Katara bended some water and froze it, I heard one guy yelled then heard a crash.

But then a cart of cabbages was in our way. I jump and make it through the space between the food and roof of it then roll the stand then continue running. I heard a crash. "My cabbages! This place is worse than Omashu!" Wait? Oh, yeah, we destroyed that guy's cart before while sliding in Omashu. But no time to say sorry as pirates appeared in front of us. But I didn't stop. I charged forward then take out my fans and dodge a swing from one of the pirates. I use one of my fans to block a blade from the pirate then block the other. I then give him a strong front kick to then chin and he backs away. I then hear two grunts and look to find pirates on both my sides then they get ready to swing their weapons at me. I do a front split and dodge their swings then toss my fans at them. Nailing the in the faces. I quickly get up and grab my fans then run to the others.

"Right! Right!" I tell them and they turn around and take a right. "I hope that lemur of yours has nine lives." "You wish you will have nine lives if you think about touching him!" I shout back but then stop as it was a dead end. "Shoot." I turn around and glare down the pirates. "Now, who gets to taste the steel of my blade first?" Oh, I'm gonna knock some teeth out this time. "No thanks. (Y/N), move." I jump to the right as Aang sent a gust of wind that cause dirt to fly at them. "Grab on tight!" He says as we run again. He opens his glider. "Aang, I thought we were running away from pirates!" "Shut up and grab on!" I tell Katara as I grabbed then toss her onto the glider. I toss Sokka them I jump and hold onto the glider on top while Sokka and Katara dangle at the end. "Hang on!" I look down to see them step on the pirates' heads as we get away.

I breathe in relief. "Okay, that was a little too close." I state. "Easy for you to stay. You are up there while we have to make sure not to get sweaty palms and fall to our deaths!" "Oh, shut up, Sokka." I say to the complainer. But then a thought occurs to me. Why did the pirates chase us in the first place?

Third Person P.O.V.

The group returned back to the watering hole, successfully escaping the pirates. "I used to kind of look up to pirates, but those guys are terrible." Aang says, closing the fans on his staff and sitting down as he leans back on a rock. "That's kind of their thing." (Y/N) sasses. "I know. That's why I took this." Katara smirks, holding out her hand which holds the waterbending scroll. "No way!" "Isn't great?" Katara says to Aang. "No wonder they were trying to hack us up. You stole their waterbending scroll." Sokka says, not sounding happy at Katara's action. "I prefer to think of it as high-risk trading." Katara comebacks at Sokka. "Ha, ha, ha. Good one, Katara." Aang laughs. "Sokka, where do you think they got it? They stole it from a waterbender." Katara defends. "Wow~ You don't say? Oh! But then again, what do pirates do?" (Y/N) says, sarcasm thick in her tone as she hold a fist under her chin to mock thinking.

"Yeah. It doesn't matter. You put all of our lives in danger just so you could learn some stupid fancy splashes." Sokka scolds Katara. "These are real waterbending forms. You know how crucial it is for Aang to learn waterbending." Katara argues. Sokka sighs at her stubbornness, "Whatever." He walks off to have some space. "Well, what's done is done. We have it. Might as well learn from it." Aang says. (Y/N) remained silent as she has her arms cross and gives Katara a disappointed look.

However, back at the village, Zuko had his ship docked there for his uncle had lost a piece of a game. He stood with crossed arms and a scowl on his face next to Iroh. "I've checked all the shops on this pier. Not a lotus tile in the entire marketplace." Iroh informs. "It's good to know this trip was a complete waste of time for everyone!" Zuko complains. "Quite the contrary. I always say the only thing better than finding something you are looking for is finding something you weren't looking for at a great bargain." Iroh responds as soldiers walk by him and Zuko, their arms holding objects that Iroh had bought. "You bought a sughi horn?" Zuko says as he notices a soldier carrying said object walk past him. "For music night on the ship. Now, if we only had some woodwinds." Iroh responds then walks off and Zuko follows him.

"Oh, this looks promising." Iroh says as he points at a familiar ship. Upon boarding it, they enter the room with all kinds of relics and treasures. "Oh, that is handsome! Wouldn't it look magnificent in the galley?" Iroh says as he looks at the red-bejeweled stone monkey statue. Zuko rolls his eyes at his uncle's antics but then they land on a necklace with a red jewel hanging from the golden chain. "We lost the Water Tribe girl and the little bald monk she was traveling with." The shady man tells the captain. "Oh, but I want to get back at that fan-wielding brat. She hurt my jaw so much that I thought I lost a tooth." He adds, rubbing his chin as he still feels sore from the kick (Y/N) gave him. This catches Zuko's attention. "This monk, did he have an arrow on his head?" He questions the man and the captain. While Iroh mimics the monkey statue.

Back with the group, the scroll was unrolled and lays on a stump of a cut-downed tree. "I just want to try this move first, and then it's all yours." Katara says, placing her finger on the second to last instruction. "Here, hold it open for me." She says, picking it up and giving it to Aang. The young monk does so as Katara takes a few steps back. She then assumes the stance, "The Single Water Whip. Looks doable." She says. Then she does the movements as she bends some water out from the pond but when she tries to do the whip, she hit her forehead. "Ah!" She yelps in pain and holds her hands to her head. "Ha, ha, ha." Sokka laughs at that. "What's so funny?" Katara asks him with an angered tone, lowering her hands to glare at him. "I'm sorry, but you deserved that." He tells his sister. "You've been duped. She's only interested in teaching herself." He then tells Aang.

"Aang will get his turn once I figure out the water whip." Katara states. She then tries again but accidentally whips Momo's butt. The lemur screeches at her then scurries off and hides behind (Y/N)'s legs. "Ugh! Why can't I get this stupid move?!" Katara complains. "You'll get it." Aang assures her as he puts down the scroll then walks over to the water. Katara gives him an annoyed look but Aang does not notice. He assumes the stance, "You just gotta shift your way through the stances." He says, performing the water whip perfectly. "There. See? The key to bending is-" "Will you please SHUT your air hole! Believe it or not, your infinite wisdom gets a little old sometimes! Why don't we just throw the scroll away since you're so naturally gifted?!?"Katara explodes in anger at Aang.

"Katara. Enough." (Y/N) states with in a stern voice. And she only uses it rarely. Katara glances over at her then at Sokka to find them looking at her with disappointment faces. "What?!" She demands of them. "Don't ask us." (Y/N) replies. Katara then looks back at Aang and finds him with a hurt look. She then calms down as she realizes what she did. "Oh, my gosh, Aang. I am so sorry. I don't know what came over me." Katara apologizes to him. (Y/N) walked over, uncrossed her arms and turned Katara to face her, "What came over you was jealousy. I get that you want to be a master waterbender, but getting frustrated and angry and taking it out on others is not going to do anything. Aang has more experience in bending so he has more knowledge about what it is about. Water is the element of change, it can adapt to its surroundings. But you have been stubborn and short-tempered which are not going to help you in getting better." (Y/N) lectures her, Momo still clinging on to her legs as he still a little miffed at Katara for whipping him with water.

Katara looks down in guilt then faces Aang , "You know what? It won't happen again." She says. Then she walks to where the scroll is, rolling it up then gives it to Aang. "Here, this is yours. I don't want to have anything to do with it anymore." She says. "It's ok, Katara." He tells her. "What about Momo? He's the real victim here." Sokka says, gesturing to Momo as the poor lemur rubs his butt. (Y/N) gently pets his head to make him feel better. Katara walks over then gets on her knees as she lays a hand on his lowered ears. "I'm sorry, Momo." She apologizes. "And what about me? There was that time you-" "No more apologies." Katara snaps at Sokka, Momo flapping his arms a little since he got spooked by her small outburst.

He ends up in (Y/N)'s arms and she holds him gently while petting his head to comfort him. She then takes a deep breath, "Look, it's been a long day and the sun is setting. So, how about we end training for today and set up camp? We gotta make it to North Pole as soon as possible." (Y/N) says. The others did not argue and got to setting up for the night.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Mom... Dad... Wait." I then wake up with a snort. Darn it. Not that dream again. Ever since that visit to the Spirit World, those people have been there. Their backs to me. They had to be my parents. I mean, why else would I see them? "Oof!" I groan as I look to find Momo on my stomach. He coos and looks to the left. I raise a brow at that then sit upright, Momo jumping off me, as I look around the camp. Aang and Sokka are fast asleep, but Katara.... "Oh, my Spirits." I groan, facepalming. I then get up and grab my spear along with my fans and a knife. For in case I come across trouble, a girl has got to be prepared. I kneel down and look at Momo in the eyes. "Keep watch of the boys." I tell him. He chirps and sits straight as he nods his head. I give him a nod back then stand up and walk off to find Katara.

If she would be practicing, it would be someplace far enough so that her tantrums won't reach us. "Ow!" The stop as I heard Katara. I then kneel down and feel the ground. Some of the grass was still a little pressed to the ground. I'm close. I stand back up as I walk in the right direction. But then I hear more complaining but then I heard Katara yell in distress. "Let me go!" I hurry and hide behind a tree. I equip my spear and look back to see, "Shoot." The pirates. And Zuko. I watch as Katara was apprehended and I move to not be seen. I breathe in and grab my spear. I then hear a snap and I move and block a swing from a pirate. "Nice try." I say. I then force the pirates blade down then notice them a back kick.

He lands on his butt and I step back, twirl my spear then point the blade at him. "There's another over here!" He says. I hear more footsteps then look around to find myself surrounded. "I got a bone to pick with you." Oh, great. The ugly one is here. I pull back my spear and twirl it a little . Okay. "So, you guys want to get your butt kicked? Alright." I smirk. I then do a split, drop my spear and take out my fans then open and toss them. Two pirates dodge then the rest laugh. "Cute. Now, to-UGH!" I jumped and kicked the ugly pirate in the jaw. He falls onto his back and my smirk widens as I find a tooth next to his head. "You little-AH!" "Oof!" I hold up my hands as my fans returned to me. I look back to find two more pirates on the ground.

Another then jumps at me and I step to the side, spin then hit the backside of his head. The pirate freezes a moment before he falls onto his face. A little nerve attack I picked up when dealing with some rowdy prey. I hear yelling and look to find a pirate swing his sword down at me and I lean back to dodge, though it was very close, and roll back then run at him and punch him in the face hard. He falls onto his back and had a giddy smile on his face.

"That's enough." I turn around and find Zuko holding fire at Katara's face. I stop but glare at him. "Enough playing around. Unless you want your friend here to have a permanent blemish, stand down now." He demands. I stand my ground as I continue to look him in the eye. He glares back but then I hear a whimper and look to see Katara with a terrified face. Her eyes wide as she looks at the fire then at me. I stop glaring and close my eyes as I sigh. I hold my hands up in defeat. "Urgh!" I grunt as I am pushed down and my face is squished against the ground. "Hey! I yielded." I say to the jerks. "Yeah, but you made me lose a tooth." The ugly one said. I give him an unbothered look and raise a brow, "You could replace it with a gold one." I state. He pauses then blinks. "Oh." I roll my eyes. Idiots.

I was then forced up to my feet and I was tied up while Katara was tied to a tree. Zuko and his men stood opposite of the pirates and I was held by two Fire soldiers. "Tell me where he is, and I won't hurt you or your brother." Zuko demands. "Go jump in the river!" Katara retorts. Zuko looked away for a bit, "Try to understand, I need to capture him to restore something I've lost- My honor." Zuko says as he walked over and stood behind Katara. Honor? I mean, one without honor is not exactly a great person. So, I'll give him that. But I ain't giving up my friend. He then whispers into her her ear then holds up.... I gasp. Kya's necklace! He has it. "My mother's necklace. How did you get that?!" Katara demands Zuko. "I didn't steal it if that's what you're wondering." Zuko defends. "Tell me where he is." He demands again. "No!" Katara declines.

"Enough of this necklace garbage. You promised the scroll." The captain speaks. Oh, for the love of- "The scroll? You guys came all the way out here and teamed up with honor-obsessed princey here to get a stupid piece of paper that teaches some fancy water moves?" I question them as I give them an annoyed look. They looked at me with surprise. "I mean, you guys are pirates. I've seen the stuff on your ship. Those things are worth far more than that one scroll. Also, what is an Earth Kingdom Noble gonna do with it? Hang it on his wall? Ridiculous." I roll my eyes. "You know, in retrospect, she has a point." I look over at an older man with gray hair and a beard. He was shorter than Zuko and a little round and dressed in red Fire Nation clothing but he didn't have any maliciousness from what I heard in his voice. "Thank you." I thank him. "Oh, you are welcome." He responds. Okay, I'm staring to like this guy.

"Enough. Besides. I wonder just how much money this is worth." I look to see Zuko hold the scroll then hold it over his other hand as a fire is produced from it. The pirates gasp and tell Zuko not to do it. "A lot, apparently." I roll my eyes. I officially hate pirates. "Morons." I mutter. "Now, you help me find what I want, you'll get this back, and everyone goes home happy. Search the woods for the boy and meet back here." Zuko orders. "Fine." The captain complies then turns around and walks off. Zuko puts out the fire, "You know, having to rely on pirates, not the best option." I tell him. He looks at me with a scowl, "It got me you and that water girl." He replies. "Yeah, well, pirates aren't exactly trustworthy." I respond back. "Though, they do have quite the collection of trinkets. Or was it curios?" The gray-haired man says and I glance over to find him stroking his beard as he has a thinking face.

"It does not matter." Zuko says then gets in my face. "Once I have the Avatar, I will have my honor restored. And you will pay for your crimes." He says. Crimes? "Oooh~ Is this because I kicked you then bit you?" I tease, smirking at him. "NO!" I lean back from his outburst. He clears his throat as he steps back, "You are more of a nuisance than the two Water Tribe peasants and an actual threat. I rather have you be locked up and out of the way than continue to be a hindrance." He states then walks off to cool off. "Moody, much?" I say out loud to no one in particular. "Oh, he is just conflicted." I jump a little as I look at the elder man. "Leave us be. I will keep watch of her." He tells the soldiers. They let me go and now at the man then walk off.

"We haven't been properly introduced. I am Iroh." He introduces himself. I look at him for a moment. I could take this opportunity to bolt, but Katara is still tied up and those soldiers did not hesitate. Oh, well. "I'm (Y/N)." I introduce. He smiles at me, "I must apologize for my nephew's behavior. It has been a long while since he has been sent on this mission to capture and return the Avatar." He says. Nephew? This guy is Zuko's uncle? In hindsight, now it makes sense why the soldiers obeyed without a problem. This man must have done some stuff. But he is so nice and warm. I then realize I have been quiet for a bit, "Uh, it's cool. He is no older than me. But why is he so obsessed with restoring his honor?" I ask.

Iroh then sighs and looks away from me. He strokes his beard. "Prince Zuko believes that by presenting the Avatar to his father, he will have his honor restored and be forgiven. But my brother is not the forgiving type." He says, closing his eyes. He said that in a somber voice. Sad, even. I look over at Zuko. He wants to go home, but is home even... home? "Hey!" I complain as I am pushed forward. "Orders of Prince Zuko. You are to stand next to the Water Tribe girl." I look back at a Fire Soldier. "Let me guess, was it his order to push me?" I ask. "Yes." He answers. I roll my eyes as I face forward. "I can walk." I state then walk over to stand next to Katara. It was quiet for a bit. "I-" "Don't. I'm mad at you right now." I tell her. What? She got us into this mess. So, I have a right to be mad.

Third Person P.O.V.

The sun had started to rise as the sky became a light orange. The pirates found and captured Aang and Sokka, and now they stood opposite of Zuko and his men. "Nice work." Zuko says as he walks forward a little. Sokka grunts as he tries to get out of his wrists free of his bindings while Aang stood unbothered as he looks at Katara. "Aang, this is all my fault." Katara says. "No, Katara. It isn't." Aang defends. "Yeah, it kind of is." Iroh says. Katara gives him a raised brow. "Oh, it definitely is." (Y/N) affirms, giving Katara a hard sideways glare. Katara falters from her look and glances away.

"Give me the boy." Zuko demands. "You give us the scroll." The captain demands. "You're really gonna hand over the Avatar for a stupid piece of parchment?" Sokka asks the pirates. "Don't listen to him. He's trying to turns us against each other." Zuko quickly said. "Your friend is the Avatar?" The captain asks as he looks at Aang. "Sure is. And I'll bet he'll fetch a lot more on the black market than that fancy scroll." Sokka says, smirking as he slid over and stand beside Aang. While Aang looked at Sokka with a raised brow and an annoyed frown. "Shut your mouth, Water Tribe peasant!" Zuko states. "Yeah, Sokka, you really should shut your mouth." Aang says, not getting what Sokka is doing. "I'm just saying, it's bad business sense. Just imagine how much the Fire Lord would pay for the Avatar." Sokka continues as he smirks, and the pirates smile at the thought of all the money they could get.

"You guys would be set for life." Sokka finishes. While everyone's attention was on him, (Y/N) had taken out her knife, which was hidden, and starts to cut the ropes binding her. "Keep the scroll. We can buy a hundred the reward we'll get for the kid." The captain says as he turns and walks away with his crew along with Aang and Sokka. "You'll regret breaking a deal with me." Zuko states then growls as he extends his foot out in a side-kick along with two soldiers shooting fire at the pirates. The pirates jump away and the first mate throws smoke bombs which creates a large smoke screen and a fight breaks out.

Some soldiers charge at Sokka and Aang but then some pirates appear and throw down smoke bombs. The soldiers stop but we're then pulled in by the pirates. (Y/N) cuts through her bindings but then hears chirping and looks to find Momo climb down the tree Katara is tied to. He chews through the bindings, freeing Katara. "Thanks, Momo. I owe you a bushel of apples." Katara thanks him and Momo nods at her. He then flies off and Katara makes eye contact with (Y/N). She opens her mouth to say something but (Y/N) holds her free hand up as she puts away her knife. "Save the boys. Talk later." (Y/N) states, then bends down and picks up her spear and fans. They then run to help the guys.

Aang coughs from the smoke but then leans back as blade was thrown. They cut the bindings on his wrists, freeing him. But then he yelps as a spear appears and he dodges it. Zuko grunts as he stumbles back and out of the smoke screen. He then places the scroll within the band around his waist and looks behind him and move to dodge the blade swing at him by the captain. The two stare each other down until Zuko bends fire at him and the captian counters and tries to stab him, but Zuko blocks it then turns and tries to attack him from behind but the captain holds his wrists. A pirate tosses a wired and wraps it around the scroll. He pulls it towards him but Momo lies in and grabs it. The parrot squawks and flies after Momo. It tackles hims and Momo drops the scroll, which ends up in the smoke screen.

Sokka crawls, as best he can since his wrists are still tied up, then he stops as he looks around but jumps back as a blade plants in front of him. "Aah! Aang, are you there?" He calls out to Aang, he also starts to use the blade to cut him out of his bindings and successfully does. "I'm over here! Follow my voice." Aang responds as he uses airbending to jump and look above the smoke screen. "Where? I can't find you!" Sokka exclaims. "I'm right here!" Aang exclaims back. He then airbends to clear the smoke around him, only to find Fire soldiers and pirates point weapons at him. He bends air so that the smoke surrounds him again. "Uh, never mind! I'll find you!" He says.

"Or I find you!" A familiar voice yells as one pirate screams as he is sent flying and(Y/N) appears then grabs Aang. "Ah! (Y/N)." Aang says in relief. "Talk after we are home free!" She exclaims. Sokka crawls until he manages to get out of the smoke screen then Aang appears as he used airbending to jump him and (Y/N) out of the smoke and over Sokka. "Run!" He yells as he and the other two start running. They then meet with Katara who was trying to push the ship into the water. "Katara, you're okay!" Aang says, relieved to see her safe. "Help me get this boat back into the water so we can get out of here." She says. The others join her and strain to push the boat into the water. However, it was futile as they stop. "We need a team of rhinos to budge this ship." Sokka says.

But then (Y/N)'s eyes widen as she then smacks her forehead in realization. "Or two waterbenders!" She says. "Exactly." Aang agrees, he and (Y/N) looking at Katara with confidence as she looks at them. Together, Katara and Aang were able to bend the water and get the ship to rise. "Everybody in." Katara says. (Y/N) walks over to the ladder as she then readies herself, assuming a strong stance and interlocking her fingers together. "Let's go!" She exclaims. Katara and Sokka walk over to her as Aang airbends and jumps onto the ship. Katara places a foot in (Y/N)'s hands and the older girl lifts her up as Katara grabs the ladder and climbs. (Y/N) does the same for Sokka then she jumps and hurriedly climbs up the ladder.

Meanwhile, Zuko and the captain were still fighting with each other until Iroh breaks it up. "Are you so busy fighting you cannot see your own ship has set sail?" He tells the captain. "We have no time for your proverbs, uncle." Zuko says to Iroh. "It's not a proverb." Iroh affirms as he points at the pirates ship. Which was sailing away. "Bleeding boy monkeys!" The captain says in surprise as he then runs off and Zuko laughs mockingly. But the pirates took his boat and wave back with smirks. "Hey! That's my boat!" He says then runs off. "Maybe it should be a proverb." Iroh says in thought. "Come on, uncle." Zuko calls out and Iroh follows after him.

On the pirate ship, Aang looks back and finds the pirates closing in on them. "Sokka, can't you make it go any faster?" He asks Sokka. "I don't know how. This thing wasn't made by the Water Tribe." Sokka replies. "Well, then get ready to fight. Intruders jumping aboard!" (Y/N) says as she equips her spear. The pirates now sailed beside them and jumped onto the ship. One grabbed the ledge but (Y/N) uses the butt of it to hit him in the face and he loses his grip and falls into the water. However, more jump on and one kicks her and she ends up on her back but quickly stands up and stands beside Katara as the pirates surround them.

However, Aang bends water and washes one off the ship. One gets up and (Y/N) stands in front of Katara as she points the blade of her spear at the pirate. Katara looks at her then at the pirate then at floor before she puts on a brave face. She then assumes a stance and performs the water whip. Perfectly this time as she was able to knock the pirate off the ship. "Hey! You did the water whip." Aang says. "I couldn't have done it without your help." Katara tells him. (Y/N) looks back at her and smiles. Katara notices and looks at her. "Looks like you finally got it." She congratulates her. Katara smiles at that. "Will you three quit congratulating each other and help me out?" Sokka says as he currently tussling with two pirates.

Momo flies by with the parrot still chasing him. He climbs up the sail the skies around, grabs the flag at the top and uses it to trap the parrot. It squawks aggressively as it tries to free itself. Sokka screams as he is tossed into the sail. "That's good." The right hand man compliments the pirate that threw Sokka. But then Aang appears behind him and he yells as Aang blows him away. The other pirate tries to grab him, but Aang steps out of the way, sweeps his legs, airbends that makes the guy twirl above him then sends him upwards. Aang looks back as the pirate ends up in the water. Aang jumps down to check on Sokka with (Y/N) who lays a hand on his shoulder. "Aang! (Y/N)! Look!" Katara calls out to them then points ahead to reveal that they were heading towards a waterfall. "Oh, Spirits." (Y/N) curses. "Oh, no." Aang says worriedly. But then the right hand man walks up behind him and draws out a blade. "Hey!" They both look to see (Y/N) and she then delivers a strong side-kick at the man. "Oof! Ah!" He groans then screams as he goes overboard. "That was for making me eat dirt, you no-good, moronic, feeble-minded pirate!" She insults then exhales sharply through her nose. Aang blinks from that in surprise but then remembers something and takes out his bison whistle and blows it.

Sokka then appears and looks into the water to make sure they were clear then turns to Aang. "Have you lost your mind?" He questions him. "This is no time for flute practice!" He states and Aang stops blowing the whistle. "We can't stop the boat." Katara says as she sees them get closer to the waterfall. "Aang, together, push and pull the water." She says. She and Aang then move in-sync to try and get the ship to move away from the waterfall. "It's working. It's slowing down." Katara says as she notes the ship turning. "But we ain't stopping. Hurry!" (Y/N) urges. Two whirlpools then form underneath the ship, stopping it right as it was about to go over. "We're doing it." Katara smiles. "But we have another problem." Sokka says as he points at the boat the pirates stole heading right towards them.

It then collided with them and it breaks Aang and Katara's concentration. The group screams as they slide down. "Jump!" Aang exclaims and they all jump, holding hands as they fall. They then let go right as Appa appears and catches them. They hold onto the saddle as Appa flies off and the vessels crash into behind them. "Ha, HA! I love you, you gigantic fuzzball!" (Y/N) laughs as she hugs Appa's head. "I knew a bison whistle would come in handy. Thanks, Appa." Aang says, holding said whistle up. (Y/N) joins him, Katara and Sokka in the saddle and places her spear next to her as she leans back and sighs in relief. "Yeah, we owe you one." Sokka says to Appa. Appa grunts then continues flying.

"My boat!" Zuko says as he stops and looks over the edge. Iroh stops as he places his hands on his knees to catch his breath. But then he chuckles as he holds his hands together. "Prince Zuko, you're really going to get a kick out of this. That lotus tile was in my sleeve the whole time!" He says as he holds out the tile and smiles widely. Zuko breathes heavily then grabs the tile and tosses over the ledge. It hits the right hand man on the head.

Appa then breaches the clouds and flies above them. "Aang, I still owe you an apology. You were just so good at waterbending without really trying. I got so competitive that I put us all in danger. I'm sorry." Karara apologizes to Aang, she had her hands on her lap and looked away from Aang in guilt. "That's ok, Katara." Aang accepts her apology, looking at her with a smile. "Besides, who needs that stupid scroll anyway?" Katara adds. "Is that really how you feel?" Sokka teases as he holds the very scroll in his hands. "The scroll!" Katara smiles as she reaches out to grab. But Sokka held it away from her and held up his other hand to stop her. "First, what did you learn?" He asks his sister. "Stealing is wrong." Katara answers. Sokka gives her a smile but the Katara snatches the scroll out of his hand. "Unless it's from pirates." She adds.

Aang laughs at that, "Good one, Katara." He compliments. "Oh, no." (Y/N) snatch the scroll out of Katara's hands. "Hey!" Katara complains. "We got into this whole situation because you were too impatient and too competitive to learn waterbending." (Y/N) lectures. "So, this will be in Aang's possession and he can use it however he wants. Even if it means sharing." She concludes as she hands it to Aang and he takes from her then smiles at Katara. "And I want to share it with you, Katara." He says. Katara smiles at him then looks at (Y/N), "I'm sorry you got caught. I promise to not run off like that again." She says. (Y/N) gives her a small smile then leans back but then winces as she felt something.

"What is it? You okay?" Katara ask her. "Yeah. I just felt something." (Y/N) responds as she then grabs something and holds it in front of her. "Where did you get the extra bag?" Sokka asks her. "I don't know." She replies then feels something in the bag. She opens it and puts her hand in it then pulls out a folded piece of paper. "What does it say?" Aang asks. (Y/N) unfolds then clears her throat as she starts reading, "Until we meet again. P.S. My nephew spotted it first and I believe it makes it all the more sweet." She reads. She raised a brow then puts away the note and takes out the necklace with the red gem hanging from it. She gasps, "This was on the pirates' ship." She realizes. "But who gave it to you?" Aang asks. (Y/N) then remembers Iroh. He gave this to her. But why? And what did he mean that Zuko spotted it first?

(So to answer a question, you will probably ask., Iroh noticed Zuko looking at the necklace and immediately thought of (Y/N). He can tell that their is chemistry~ between them. Anyway, it will be a while until the next chapter. So, please be patient and I will have it up as soon as I can. Bye for now!)
