The Waterbending Scroll (Part 2)

~Katara POV~

Jinhai giving me some tips is probably the best thing I've ever had in my life. He's just so sweet and cute that I just wanna mess around with him!

In a village near the shore, there were some people who were really weird looking and I didn't want to stay long.

Sokka: We've got exactly 3 copper coins left from the money King Bumi gave us. Let's spend it wisely.

Aang: Uhh, make it two copper pieces. I couldn't say no to this whistle!

Aang brought out a whistle that looked like a bison and blew into it, which annoyed Momo and Jinhai, especially Sokka.

Jinhai: See? Even Momo thinks it's a piece of junk.

I had Aang give me the money as I told him that I'll hold it for now on. As we made it into the town, someone looking to sell something to us.

Person: Earth Nation! Fire Nation! Water Nation! So long as bargains are your inclination, you're welcome here! Don't be shy! Come on by!

He noticed the four of us and we kept walking until Aang became interested like always.

Aang: Sure! What are curios?

Person: I'm not entirely sure. But we got 'em!

Aang was grabbed by the hand and we went into their ship that had a lot of interesting stuff! I kinda like this.

Jinhai: There's another sword, but I already have one right now.

And I found that there are two necklaces with a little scroll for each, but in the corner of my eye, I saw something familiar. I walked over to where they have scrolls and I saw a Water Nation logo on one of them.

I grabbed it, opened it to find moves and techniques! They'll be perfect for Aang and I to practice!

Kat: Aang! Come here, look at this! It's a waterbending scroll! Check out these crazy moves!

~Jinhai POV~

I saw that Katara found something that her and Aang can use to practice their waterbending, but I was more interested in these necklaces here, other than the sword I found.

Person: Did you find anything?

Jinhai: Um, yes. I found these necklaces. How much are they combined?

Person: 50 pieces of gold, but for you, they're free.

Jinhai: Free? What?

Person: I actually know you, Jinhai Huang.

How did he recognize me? He seemed familiar but I don't know.

Person: I knew your father. You're quite famous around the world as well. I'm giving you these because I felt sorry for the loss of your mother.

Jinhai: In fact, she's alive. King Bumi saved her and kept her alive until I found her again not too long ago.

Person: Oh! How is she?

Jinhai: She's good. I actually discovered that she can Earthbend, but I don't know how she could do that?

Person: I never knew that. Not charging you for the necklaces, son. Go on.

He sent me on my way and as were leaving, the person stopped us again?!

Person: Hey you! Get back here!

We looked back to see them angry at us! What did we do wrong!

Aang: Well, well, look who's come to their senses. Told you the haggling would pay off.

Just as he said that, a whole group of these guys were going to surround us!

Kat: I, I don't think these pirates are here to trade with us!

Jinhai: Let's get out of here!

We started running as the pirates started running for us! I had to slice some bookshelves down to slow them down as long as they could, but they dodged them, as we slammed into the SAME CABBAGE MERCHANT?!

Vendor: My cabbages! This place is worse than Omashu!

Jinhai: No kidding.

We were in a corner and they surrounded us. We were doomed, but Aang opened his glider and he told us to get on and we have. We were able to fly out of there and head back to where Appa was.

Jinhai: Wow. They're more terrible than the Fire Nation.

Kat: I know, that's why I took this.

She reached into her robe and pulled out the WATERBENDING SCROLL? The same one that was on the ship?

Aang: No way!

Kat: Isn't it great?

Jinhai: More like not great!

Sokka: Jinhai's right. No wonder they were trying to hack us up! You stole their waterbending scroll.

Kat: I'd like to think of it as high-risk trading.

Aang: Ha! Good one Katara.

Kat: Sokka, Jinhai, where do you think they got it? They stole it from a waterbender.

Sokka: It doesn't matter. You put all of our lives in danger just to learn some stupid splashes!

Jinhai: While I disagree with the last part, I agree on the first part. If you take something that's valuable to them, they're gonna want to kill you unless you give it back to them.

Kat: These are real waterbending forms. You know how crucial it is for Aang to learn waterbending.

Sokka walked away while muttering "Whatever" as I was serious.

Kat: You understand, right Jinhai?

I had to let this go since she's my best friend and I don't want her to feel bad, but I got something to cheer her up, the necklaces that my dad's old friend gave me for free.

Jinhai: If it makes you feel any better, I got these.

I showed her the necklaces and she was shocked!

Kat: Where did you get those?

Jinhai: From the ship. The pirate used to be an old friend of my dad's and he gave me them for free.

Kat: Wow. Which one are you gonna wear?

Jinhai: Now that I found out my mom is an earthbender, I'm thinking the Earth Nation one, but at the same time I grew up in the South Pole. I'm gonna wear both.

Kat: Good.

She hugged me as I really think I made the right choice, considering that my mom's discovered to be an earthbender instead of a firebender.

Kat: You really put people first.

Jinhai: I intend to every now and then.

Kat: Wanna watch me practice with Aang?

Jinhai: Of course I will.

I went with her to see Aang waiting for her as I was watching her and Aang while keeping an eye out for anyone bad.

Kat: The "Water Whip". Sounds doable.

Kat bends a stream of water and whips it around to hit herself in the head.

Kat: Ow!

Sokka was laughing and I had to give him a death glare and that made him shut up.

Kat: What's so-

I stopped her from getting angry and I gestured her to try again. Kat blended the water again, but this time she hit Momo in the butt.

Kat: Why can't I get this stupid move!

Aang: You'll get it.

We all know how this is gonna go.

As Aang vended the water, he did the move perfectly as Kat was so angry.

Aang: You just gotta shift your weight through the stances. There. See? The key to bending is-

Kat: WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT YOUR AIR HOLE!

I was shocked that Kat would yell at Aang about this. I wanted to stop her but she needed to vent.

Kat: BELIEVE IT OR NOT, YOUR INFINITE WISDOM GETS REAL OLD SOMETIMES! WHY DON'T WE THROW THE SCROLL AWAY SINCE YOU'RE SO NATURALLY GIFTED!

I facepalmed as I saw that Aang was about to cry.

Jinhai: What did I tell you, Kat!

She came to her senses and saw that Aang was walking away from her.

Kat: Aang, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me.

He ignored her and went into his sleeping bag to cry silently. I had to tell her this.

Jinhai: Congratulations Kat, you probably made him hate you for at least a month.

Kat: Seriously? You're blaming this on me?

Jinhai: Why not? I mean, you said you could try and what just happened wasn't trying.

Kat: Well excuse me for being "cool and collected". Maybe there needs to be some anger let loose!

Jinhai: You should take some time to think about what you've done because you just made Aang upset and you don't even have the heart to truly apologize!

Kat: I just did!

Jinhai: Not in the best way. Give him time and see if he's ready to forgive you!

Kat: Alright, fine!

She walked away fuming and I had to make sure she does apologize.

Even though Kat already did, I think she needed to give Arrowhead some time to cry and hopefully he can forgive her.

After some fishing, I brought back some fish from the river and looked to cook them the best I could.

I'm not a good cook, but I try every once in a while.

While Kat looked for Aang, Sokka had to talk to me.

~Sokka POV~

Jinhai was pretty harsh on my sister. I had to talk to him and ask him why he was.

Sokka: Why were you harsh on Katara. She didn't know.

Jinhai: I was harsh on her because she hurt Aang's feelings. I advised her earlier that if she could stay happy for mentoring him, I can still be grateful that the South Pole took me in after my mom was supposedly killed, but at this point, I don't know.

Sokka: I know that you're a good person, but with what just happened, I don't know if I should trust you.

Jinhai: Horsetail, just shut up. You don't know how it is with me and Katara.

Sokka: Just now I saw you arguing with her.

Jinhai: You're right about that, but I only argued out of love because I wanted her to understand that she hurt Aang's feelings and she needs to apologize in the right way.

Sokka: I agree she needed to apologize, but you didn't have to be that hard on her.

Jinhai: I had to be hard on her because I want her to know that life on the run won't be easy.

I seemed to understand what Jinhai is saying, but I don't want him going off on my sister every time. I just hope that takes it easy with her.

Sokka: I won't go into an argument, but don't tick me off, okay Jinhai?

Jinhai: You got it, Horsetail.

I laughed a bit as the sun goes down and we went to sleep.
