The Boy In The Iceberg (Part 2)

~Jinhai POV~

It was the next morning and I think I slept pretty good. I managed to put on my coat and get out of my tent, where my mom and I sleep in and I went to do some chores. I saw Sokka was training the kids while Katara was doing some laundry.

I decided to help her out, which should be the right thing to do. I really think Katara should be helped out more. She's done a lot for the tribe and Sokka doesn't want to acknowledge her.

Katara: Jinhai, you don't have to help me.

Jinhai: I know but I want to. Sokka just wants to play soldier while we do all the work. Here's something for Sokka to know and I learned this from my mom, rest in peace, "War appears pleasant to those who never experienced it", and Sokka never saw any.

Katara: You didn't either.

Jinhai: That doesn't mean we can't be prepared. I knew I had to train, besides Sokka's a coward and I'm not, so what's the difference?

Kat giggled a little bit, but I was serious. Sokka is always a coward and he never won a fight in his life. He loses every time and whenever he and I have a duel, he loses in less than a minute. He's 0-38 while I'm 38-0.

When I saw him training the young kids, I was hoping that one of them would get up and leave while I teach them the right way.

Finally, and I overheard the lesson, and one of the kids said it...

Tong: I gotta pee!

Sokka: You remember what I said when it comes to war, no potty breaks!

Tong: But I really gotta go.

Sokka: Okay, who else has gotta go.

Almost simultaneously, all the kids raised their hands and left before Sokka lost it!

Sokka: Are you kidding me!

I was just dying of laughter, my back's on the snow and I just couldn't breathe!

Jinhai: Throw all the lessons away, Sokka, there's no point in teaching these kids anything if they're not gonna learn!

Sokka: What makes you think that?

Jinhai: At least I can fight, I've been training so much.

Sokka: Then let's see what you got. I'm ready.

I got into a fighting position with my twin hooks and I was ready for him. He ran with his boomerang and before he could strike, I sidestepped and he went crashing into the snow face first as I pinned him with one of my hooks.

Once I pinned Sokka, he grabbed his boomerang and swiped the weapon out of my hand before I ducked as many times before grabbing my hooks off the snow, disarmed him, slammed him on the ground, and pinned him again while putting the blade next to his head. I laughed before stepping aside.

Jinhai: It was all a joke Sokka, but next time it won't be. Kat and I? We were taught to be humble. Now look at you!

Kat and I walked away as Sokka started getting up with fear. From the looks of it, he learned his lesson, which I'm happy about.

After walking some more, Kat and I saw Aang hanging out with the kids.

To be truthful with you, I can't help but admire Aang. He seemed to be really good with them and joke around with them, even though he's 12 years old.

Kat: Hey Jinhai, Aang and I are going to go Penguin sliding. Wanna come with us?

Jinhai: Penguin sliding and that's it?

Kat: That's it. You might have some fun. It's been a while you know?

Jinhai: Let's go then.

Aang: PENGUIN!!!

He ran towards one and it actually made Kat and I laugh a bit. I didn't know Aang could be a funny guy.

Jinhai: Remember Kat, I'm only doing it since this is my first time meeting an Airbender and it could be a great experience for me.

Kat: Good, because after this, you're doing the laundry with me tomorrow.

Jinhai: That I can do.

~Katara POV~

I'm really surprised that Jinhai is in a good mood (for once) and is trying to have a good day besides my idiot brother claiming to be great while all of us women are inferior.

So, with Sokka's brain being the equivalent of a snowball melting in the hot sun, he decided to treat Aang as the enemy, even though he seems to be a good kid and could be the Avatar, the one we've been waiting for after a hundred years.

We went over to see Aang trying to grab some penguins to do his penguin sliding thingy. Once he grabbed three of these birds and we each laid our stomachs on them.

Then, the penguins started sliding down the mountain, I looked at Aang who's having the time of his life and Jinhai? Well, he's actually enjoying it!

Aang: Guys? What is that?

Kat: That's an abandoned Fire Nation ship. We're not allowed to go near it.

Aang: Come on guys, I just wanna check it out.

Jinhai: No! Aang, forget it. It's not worth our time. By the way, we're forbidden by the entire tribe, end of story.

Aang didn't listen as he started climbing the ship to look inside. We were in the ship and they could have traps inside. Jinhai felt uncomfortable being in here, which is kind of weird, but I want to know more sometime.

Kat: Aang, we have to leave now.

Aang: Guys, come on. So far there hasn't been-

As soon as he said that, the trap went off and a flare was up in the air, no pun intended.

Jinhai: Way to go egghead. Bet we can't freaking get out of here alive!

Kat: Jinhai, stop it.

Jinhai: Seriously Kat? I thought you'd agree with me on this.

Aang: I found a way out! Come on!

Jinhai used his agility and strength to get out of the escape hatch Aang found as he flew and helped me out of the ship and we were heading back, but we're about to face some consequences.
