~Jinhai POV~

Jet, myself, Sokka, and some of Jet's crew were hiding in the trees as we were assigned to a mission. We saw an old man traveling. It was Fire Nation and he seemed harmless, but Jet thought otherwise.

We came down to confront him, but with Jet's hatred taking over, I'm gonna have to step in.

Jet: What are you doing in our woods, you leech?

Old Man: Please sir, I'm just a traveler.

Jet took a step and swung his sword, making the poor guy run and bump into the big guy who they called Pipsqueak. He backed away before the crew came around him and I had to stop it before it gets out of hand.

Jet: Do you like destroying towns? Do you like destroying families?! Do you!

He was terrified and I came out to stop Jet.

Old Man: Oh... please let me go... have mercy...

Jet: Does the Fire Nation let people go? Does the Fire Nation show mercy!

Jinhai: STOP!

He looked at me as I was angry at Jet and I had to show mercy to the poor guy.

Jinhai: Let him go. He's just a traveler.

Jet: He's Fire Nation!

Jinhai: I agree, but let me deal with him.

Jet: Suit yourself.

I walked up to the old man and helped him not feel scared by apologizing for Jet's actions. I even helped him go to his destination before coming back to Jet.

Jet: Have you forgotten that the Fire Nation almost killed your mom? All of the people are bad!

Jinhai: Oh, screw that! When I lived there, not all the people were bad! If you lived there you'd get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Jet: Maybe, but it doesn't change what I said.

Jinhai: Jet, if you let anger take control, it's going to make you do things you'll regret. Your hatred is a passion, I get that, but what I'm implying is that this old man was only traveling, not harming anyone. If you look at the emotion in his eyes for example, you'll see what kind of person he is.

Jet: Think that all you want, Jinhai. We're out of here.

We all went back to the treehouses and I immediately started packing my bag and loading up my weapons on Appa.

After staying alone with the big guy, I heard footsteps.

Kat: Jinhai?

I looked back to see Katara with a concerned look on her face.

Kat: Are you okay?

Jinhai: Kat, what if I told you Jet isn't what he says he is?

Kat: What do you mean?

Jinhai: I mean he tried to rob a harmless old man. I had to stop him before he went too far.

Kat: This is what Jet was talking about earlier. You tried to stop an assassin from killing him?!

Jinhai: Wait, where'd you come up with that idea?

Kat: Jet told me about how you let the guy almost kill him and how he's scarred for life now!

Jinhai: That's not true! It was the other way around!

Kat: Really, then how do you explain to Jet the cut he had on his arm?

Jinhai: What cut?!

Kat: He said you made it happen. I can't believe you! I thought you'd protect him!

Jinhai: Kat, don't listen to him! He's trying to feed you lies and make you his!

Kat: He was telling the truth the whole time!

Jinhai: Oh, so now you listen to a freaking liar?

Kat: No, I believe someone when something happens to them!

Jinhai: You wanna believe a liar and a fraud! Then, fine! Just know that he'll try to hurt you sooner than later, and if he does, you owe me an apology.

I walked off and just being absolutely ticked about what she just said.

To keep the anger from getting to me, I went to Appa and hung out with him, just to take my mind off of the argument Kat and I just had.

~Sokka POV~

I saw that Jet, Pipsqueak and Duke were going somewhere, so I had to grab Jinhai to see if he was interested in coming with me to find out Jet and his friends were up to.

Sokka: Jinhai, I know you're probably not in the mood, but I'm gonna need you to come with me.

Jinhai: Why's that?

Sokka: I think Jet's planning something so I need you to come with me in case they find us.

Jinhai: No problem. Here's a black egg in case they try to grab us and tie us up.

Sokka: Good call.

Jinhai: You know how to use it?

Sokka: I learned by watching you. Sand, right?

Jinhai: Correct. That'll make their vision blurry and we can escape.

Sokka: Alright. Come on let's see what they're up to.

We were able to find them and go into a bush near a dam and a reservoir, but we couldn't believe what we were hearing.

Jet: Now listen-you're not to blow up the dam until I give the signal. If the reservoir isn't full, the Fire Nation troops will survive.

Duke: But what about the people in the town- won't they get wiped out too?

Jet: Look Duke, that's the price ridding this area of the Fire Nation. Now don't blow the dam until I give the signal. Got it?

Longshot nodded and while I was looking for something to take advantage of, but Duke took me out of the bush and I used the Black Egg on him while Jinhai did the same with Pipsqueak and we ran as far from them as until we thought we were safe.

Sokka: They're going to kill those people!

Jinhai: You're not wrong, Horsetail. You go find Katara and Aang while I try to fight Jet. He's not getting away with this.

Sokka: Dang right.

I left him as I try to find Katara.

~Jinhai POV~

Turned out this guy and his freaking pals, they've been planning this for some time.

When I got to him, Katara and Aang were already there trying to fight him, but he was too strong for them. I walked forward with my sword drawn and I was ready to fight him.

I wanted him to know that we're leaving and I wanted to make an example to him and his friends that the party was over.

Jinhai: Jet! You're mine!

Jet: Did you really think we were going to do the wrong thing?

Jinhai: I'm not going to let you destroy that town!

Jet: You want to rid of the Fire Nation, right Jinhai? This could make you feel better!

Jinhai(sarcasm): Yeah, killing innocent people over your passionate hatred for the Fire Nation! What could possibly go wrong besides absolutely EVERYTHING!

Jet: You got one more chance to join us Jinhai.

Jinhai: I wouldn't, even if you paid me!

Jet: What if I gave you 50 gold pieces, 30 copper pieces and 40 silver pieces?

He showed me the bag to reveal the coins inside: it was indeed what he said. I have to lie in order to get the money. My friends and I have been low on money so this was a perfect time to lie, cheat, and steal.

Kat: Don't take it Jinhai! He's lying!

Jinhai: Why should I listen to you after you believed him!

I subtly winked at her and said to Jet...

Jinhai: You got a deal.

Jet laughed and threw me the coins and Kat was crying, but it was all a plan to betray him: take him down and keep the money he gave me.

He was about to give the signal and I winked at Kat to give her an idea that I wasn't really gonna betray the family I have now. I stopped him by saying.

Jinhai: On second thought Jet, I was just kidding. I wasn't really going to join you and your group of jerkoffs. You have nothing that I don't want, except for this.

I threw the bag of money to Aang who caught it as I punched Jet's face, and I threw him in the ground. He stood up and we got to fighting. I was able to dodge his attacks and attack him with a side kick and some punches.

He swung at me as I grabbed his arm and put him on the ground with one swift motion as I had my hand over his mouth.

Jinhai: Stay away from my friends. Don't even try to destroy the town because the joke's on you, the people already left before you even try to destroy the town.

I let go of the hand he whistled very loudly, making the dam destroyed as I know that the people are safe.

Somehow, Sokka came with Appa and he told everyone that he tried to explain to those people that were in the town escaped before the flood happened.

Kat and Aang were relieved as they were coming onto Appa, but I wanted to give Jet a little message.

Jinhai: If we ever see you again Jet, I will put you in the ground personally, and I'll love every moment of it.

Jet felt outraged as Kat, Sokka, Aang, and I flew into the sky, but Katara wanted to see me.

Kat: I'm sorry Jinhai. I didn't know about Jet trying to manipulate us.

Jinhai: Thing is, I was hoping you'd see that side of Jet, but now you do.

I gave her a little hug and we forgave each other as it was now time to get a move on.
