???: HEY MOM LOOK!!

A young boy of 8 was calling to a woman who looked to be in her mid 30's.

???2: What is it sweetie?

???: Look! I learned how to do your trick!!

He closed his eyes and looked to be concentrating hard. After a few seconds, a few stones started floating in his hands. The woman was astonished by this and had a smile on her face.

???2: Oh my baby boy your an Earthbender!

The woman hugged her child happily.

???: Kasumi, I'm home.

Kasumi: Sol! Come in you won't believe this! Look at what Ryu's done!

A muscular man with red hair came in seeing the boy float the few small pebbles in his hands.

Ryu: Dad look! I'm an Earthbender just like mom now!

Seeing this made Sol's eyes go wide, but not from happiness.

Sol: Oh no...

Kasumi: What's wrong?

Sol: This is bad. This is very bad...

Ryu: Dad? D-Did I do something wrong?

Sol: Kasumi, you and Ryu must get out of here before-

The door slammed open with men in red armor coming through.

Armored Man: Sol, come out! We know you are hiding a child both of Fire Nation and Earth decent!

Kasumi: The Fire Nation?

Ryu: Mom? Dad?

All of a sudden fire started creeping into the room.

Sol: No, it's to late!

Kasumi: Sol, what's going on?!

Sol: They're here for Ryu! We need to get him out of here!

Kasumi: We can't leave him! He's just a boy!

Sol: Unless we want him to die there's no other way!

Sol leaped forward and punched forward making the flames go back. Through a door came several fire benders.

Sol: Go now! I'll hold them back!

He breathed in and roared out fire. He was assaulted by 2 fire benders who blasted him with flames causing him to go back. Kasumi didn't stand around any longer as she stomped her foot on the ground causing a rock to come up. She kicked it towards a fire bender knocking him back.

Sol: What are you doing Kasumi?! Go with Ryu!

Kasumi: I can't leave my husband behind! I'm sorry Ryu, but mommy and daddy have business to take care of.

Ryu had tears threatening to spill out of his eyes as she said this.

Kasumi: Run son! Just get as far away as you can!

Sol: I want you to know this Ryu, we both love you.

He said nothing as he turned around to look at the window. He looked at it and back at his parents before crying and leaving. He started to run not caring if he tripped or fell as he only kept getting back up.

Ryu: 'Mom! Dad!!'

He continued to run until he wasn't able to anymore. His feet were red and covered in blisters from going barefoot. He looked back to see the fire before collapsing.

Years Later.

A young red and black haired man was in a canoe in the South.

Ryu: *Sigh* Why did it have to be water tribe? Now I can't even bend normally.

He looked to the side of the canoe to see the 69 fish he had caught in his net.

Ryu: Well at least I've got food for a bit.

???: Sokka, look!

???2: SHH! Katara, you're gonna scare it away.

Ryu: What the heck is that?

He looked ahead to see a boy and girl in a canoe as well. The difference was that they where in Water Tribe ones.

Ryu: 'They must be from the South Pole. Well might as well go ask for directions.'

He grabbed an oar and started rowing to them. When he got closer he noticed that the girl was water bending.

Ryu: A bender huh? Hey, can you two help me-

The male named Sokka rose his spear in the air popping a water bobble made by Katara making the water splash on him and having the fish she caught escape.

Katara: Hey!

Sokka: Ah!

Ryu: Out?

Sokka: Why is it that when you play with magic water, I get soaked?

He squeezed his gloves making water come out.

Katara: It's not magic it's-

Ryu: Water Bending. An ancient art unique to the Water Tribe culture. Also am I interrupting something?

They both turned to see Ryu with a confused look.

Sokka: Who are you?

Ryu: I'm looking for the South Pole. I saw that you two were wearing their clothes and thought you could help me out. And this one who I assume is your sister is a Water Bender so that pretty much confirmed that you should know.

Katara: You're looking for the village? Then sure, we can-

Sokka: Katara, wait! We can't just give directions to some stranger! For all we know he could be a Fire Nation soldier!

When hearing those words Ryu's pupils became slitted and he slightly glared at Sokka who flinched. Noticing his change Ryu's eyes quickly changed back to normal.

Ryu: I'll tell you this now, I don't like being compared to any of that trash. And if you're still not convinced, here.

Ryu reaches into his bag pulling out 3 stones.

Sokka: What exactly will that pro-

They were both shocked when they saw the rocks levitating in the palm of his hand.

Katara: Your an Earth Bender?

Ryu: Uh huh. Now do you both believe me?

Sokka nodded as Katara was the first to say anything.

Katara: I'm sorry about my brother, he can be an idiot sometimes.

Sokka: I'm just protecting us from outsiders.

Ryu: So anyway now will you take me to- ICE DEAD AHEAD!!

Sokka and Katara looked Forward to see giant pieces of ice coming towards them. Ryu grabbed an oar and started steering his canoe around some of the ice. He saw that he was about to get trapped between two pieces and panicked.

Ryu: Well, gotta abandon ship!

He grabbed the net full of fish and jumped out of the canoe barely escaping being crushed. He looked over to Katara and Sokka who were on another side with about an 8 foot gap.

Ryu: Hope you have room for one more!

Sokka: If you can even make a jump that over-

Sokka was silences when he saw Ryu jump. Both he and Katara were stunned when he made the jump and was inside their canoe.

Ryu: Whew, I think that was a new record.

Sokka: WHAT?!

Ryu: Focus on steering!!

Katara: Go left! Go left!!

Sokka steered but somehow the canoe ended up drifting to the right and in between ice the crushed the canoe. Katara and Sokka both fell flat on the ice while Ryu landed on his feet.

Katara: You call that left?

Ryu: You see, this is why I like standing on solid ground. Preferably rock.

Sokka: You don't like my steering. Well maybe you should've, Water Bended us out of the Ice.

Ryu: Now to be fair, you're driving was pretty bad.

Katara: So it's my fault?!

Sokka: I knew I should've left you home! Leave it to a girl to screw things up.

Ryu rose an eyebrow at this.

Ryu: How exactly was she the one to screw up when YOU were the one to... Do I smell Bloodlust?

Katara looked ready to burst as Ryu soon realized where the feeling was coming from.

Ryu: Uh oh.

Katara: You are the most sexist immature NUT BRAINED- UGH!!! I'M EMBARRASSED TO BE RELATED TO YOU!!

Katara swung her arms back making waves that started to crack an EVEN BIGGER Iceberg behind her. This wasn't unnoticed by Ryu who slightly panicked. When Sokka heard the cracking he began to panic as well.

Ryu: Uh hey Katara you might wanna-

Katara: EVER SINCE MOM DIED I'VE BEEN DOING ALL TYE WORK AROUND CAMP WHILE YOU'VE BEEN OFF PLAYING SOLDIER!

Sokka: Ka-Katara.

Katara: I EVEN WASH ALL THE CLOTHES! Have you ever smelled your dirty socks? Let me tell you: NOT PLEASANT!!

With another swing of her arms the Iceberg cracked even more.

Ryu: Uh seriously I know your mad but-

Sokka: KATARA, SETTLE DOWN!

Hearing this Ryu turned pale.

Ryu: Never tell an angry girl that dumb ass...

Katara: NO! That's it I'm done helping you! From now on, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!!!!!

With a final swing of her arms an even bigger wave crashed into the iceberg making it start to crack open. Sokka last mouth was wide open as Katara only then realized the iceberg cracked. Ryu had a deadpanned look as he turned towards the siblings.

Ryu: -_- Oh look, we're all dead.

Katara: Don't say that with such a straight- AHH!!!

They iceberg fully broke apart as a massive wave came down. Ryu said nothing as he grabbed both Katara and Sokka and dived onto the Ice they stood on. After managing to stay on the waves died down as they brought their head back up.

Sokka: Ok, you've gone from weird, to FREAKISH Katara.

Ryu punched Sokka over the head making him face plant onto the ice.

Ryu: You definitely have ZERO tact when it comes to women. As for you, you definitely have some talent when it comes to this.

Katara: You mean I did that?

Sokka: Yep. Congratulations.

From under them a blue light started to emerge from the water.

Ryu: After this is over, I'm never setting foot off of dry land ever again.

And like most would expect, an EVEN BIGGER iceberg came up from the ocean.

Ryu: What is it with this place and Icebergs? Is there a PIECE of stone anywhere for miles?!

Sokka: Welcome to the South Pole.

Katara looked closer at the Iceberg and saw that there was a boy in it. He had arrows on his head and fist.

Ryu: A kid? Why are those marks glowing though?

What came as more of a shock to them was that the boy opened his eyes with them glowing.

Katara: He's alive. We have to help!

Katara grabbed Sokka's club and ran towards the iceberg.

Sokka: Katara, get back here! We don't know what that thing is!

Before she could go further, Ryu grabbed her by the shoulder.

Ryu: Let me do it.

Katara: What? Why would you-

Ryu: You have people that are waiting for you, I don't.

He began to walk past Katara not stoping to grab the club.

Katara: Wait! We don't even know your name!

He turned around with a smirk.

Ryu: It's Ryu.

He turned back around and pointed his fingers at the ice.

Ryu: 'Been a while since I've done this.'

He lowered his body and leaned in punching the ice with a great amount of force. Ryu turned around and faced the two as nothing happened. Sokka was the first to comment on it.

Sokka: Well that sure was anticlimactic. Nothing happened.

Ryu: Oh really?

Behind him the ice gained a crack down the middle. It soon completely split apart with Sokka having his jaw straight to the ground. Ryu had a smirk on his face.

Ryu: Doubt me now?
