Zuko: You...

Ryu: Me.

Katara: Ryu, how do you know-

Ryu: Katara, get back. I don't want you getting caught in a crossfire.

Katara: Crossfire?

Zuko: I wasn't exactly here for you, but you're just as good of a find.

Ryu: I don't know what your in about, but I'm gonna give you a chance to leave.

Sokka tried hitting Zuko with a spear but the latter broke it and poked him with the sticks side before breaking it.

Ryu: I told you to stay back!

This time Ryu sent Sokka a glare that could melt ice as he backed away. Soon enough Zuko sent a fire blast at Ryu with Katara screaming.

Katara: WATCH OUT!!

He held his hand up blocking the flames. This shocked everyone as his tattoos glowed.

Ryu: Your flames are too weak to hurt me.

He threw his fist forward with a stream of purple flames firing at the prince. He barely dodged as Ryu guided it up to avoid burning the villagers.

Katara: Y-You're a firebender?

Sokka: But we saw you earth bending!!

Zuko: That's because he's the Rogue.

Everyone was shocked hearing that.

Katara: The one man who can bend Fire and Earth? The only person other than the Avatar to bend two elements?

Zuko fired another blast but Ryu stopped it mid air and redirecting it back at him.

Sokka: He... He's just amazing.

Katara: A Firebender is actually protecting us?

He moved in through Zuko's flames and hit him with a flaming fist to the side.

???: Prince Zuko, he has proven to be more than your match.

Ryu heard a familiar voice looking at the top of the ship shocked to see a pleasantly plump old man.

Ryu: Master Iroh...

Iroh: Ryu, it has been a very long time.

Ryu bowed to him before looking at Zuko.

Ryu: Leave right now.

Before he Zuko could say anything Aang came in on a penguin knocking over Zuko.

Ryu: Nice timing pal.

Aang: Hey Katara, hey Sokka, hey Ryu.

Sokka: Hi. Aang.

Aang: Ryu, since when were you a fire bender?

Ryu: Yeah I'll explain later.

Soldiers surrounded them with them touching backs. That's when Aang swung his glider sending a blast of snow at Zuko knocking his helmet off.

Aang: Looking for me?

Zuko: You're the Airbender? You're the Avatar?!

Now it was Ryu's turned to be shocked.

Ryu: SAY WHAT?!!

Katara: Aang?

Sokka: No way.

Ryu: Now who needs to explain? Also Aang, this'll be your battle. If Iroh's gonna be involved, I refuse to fight.

Iroh: 'He still thinks of me as a friend, even after everything the Fire Nation put him through.'

Aang began to deflect Zuko's fire trying his best to keep it away from the villagers but soon saw it was getting close.

Aang: If I go with you, will you promise to leave everyone alone?

Zuko got out of his fighting stance nodding.

Zuko: But, only if he comes as well.

Ryu: *Sigh* No offense guys, but if I ever set foot in the Water Tribe ever again, it'll be too soon.

Ryu walked forward with an annoyed expression.

Ryu: What's with you? You sure seem different.

Zuko: A lots changed in three years.

Ryu was about to move up the ship but had 4 spears pointed around his neck.

Ryu: Fucking Christ chill!

Iroh: Language Ryu.

Soon enough they took Aang too getting his glider. That's when they tied Ryu's hands with rope.

Ryu: 'Mm, this'll burn fast.'

Katara: Aang, Ryu, you guys don't have to do this!

Ryu: Don't worry, we'll be fine.

Aang: Take care of Appa for me until we get back.

They tried to touch his machetes but he glared at them.

Ryu: AH AH! Touch those and the arms some off.

Iroh: Allow me.

Iroh took the blades himself with Ryu not actually minding.

Zuko: Head a course to the Fire Nation! I'm going home.

They closed the hatch as the ship began to move away.

Ryu: So, why exactly would the Prince of the Fire Nation need the Avatar and The Rogue?

Zuko: You know why.

Ryu: Maybe, but I wanna here it from the source.

Ryu started to cut away the ropes with a fire blade coming from his finger tips.

Zuko: Take the staff and blades to my quarters.

He handed the staff to Iroh who also had the machetes. That's when he handed it to a soldier

Iroh: Hey, do you mind taking this to his quarters for me?

He took the staff as Aang saw Ryu cutting the ropes before being taken.

Iroh: Prince Zuko, let Ryu come to my quarters.

Zuko: Do what you like.

Iroh started walking as Ryu followed. Soon they were in a room as Iroh closed the door.

Iroh: You can stop using the slow way.

Ryu shrugged and burned the rest of the rope off his wrist.

Ryu: You always did know my tricks.

Iroh: It is good to see you again my student. You have grown into a powerful young man I see.

Ryu: It was all because I had a great teacher.

Iroh: Hahaha! I wish Prince Zuko had the same humbleness you did.

Ryu: Well, not everyone does really.

Iroh unsheathed the machetes impressed.

Iroh: You've kept these in great condition. Like a master blacksmith forged them.

Ryu: No, I just sharpen them every time I see they get a little dull.

Iroh: So, what do you use them for now?

Ryu: Eh, mostly weed whacking. I only ever use them when I have no other choice. And even then I really on my bending.

He opened his hand revealing the purple flame.

Iroh: The flame you have is still as special as ever. And not just the one in your hands, but the one in here.

He poked Ryu's heart chuckling. He handed him the blades.

Iroh: Go.

Ryu nodded kicking down the door with Firebender's being at the receiving end of his fire blast. That's when Aang came zooming by.

Ryu: Oh cool, you're free.

Aang: How are you fine?

Ryu: Eh, he was easy to work with.

They both started running with Ryu not bothering to stop and just punch literally everything that was in his way. They both saw an open room with Aang's staff. Both of them went in but as soon as they did, the door closed with Zuko being the cause.

Ryu: You really thought they could handle an Airbender? And that I couldn't burn through ropes.

Zuko: My first mistake was letting guards deal with you.

Aang: Your next mistake was giving me enough time to get my glider.

Zuko: Wha-

Aang swung his staff with a pillow knocking Zuko into a wall. When Zuko and it fell back he swung his staff up knocking him into the roof.

Ryu: Damn Airbending seems fun.

Aang ran out of them room and Ryu turned to the right.

Ryu: BEEP BEEP!

He was gone with a Ryu shaped cloud of smoke behind him. Aang jumped off a ledge about to fly away with his glider but Zuko had other plans as he latched on to his leg bringing them down.

Ryu: How he got in front of me even I don't know.

He jumped up towards the two in air.

Ryu: WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM KICK!!!!

He kicked Zuko of of Aang as they landed on the ground. That's when they all heard something in the distance.

Ryu: Wait dam minute is that-

Aang: APPA!

Ryu looked at Appa noticing Katara and Sokka were on him slightly amazed first before looking at Zuko.

Ryu: HIYA!!!

He straight up crane kicked Zuko upside the head grabbing Aang jumping up with flames shooting from his feet. He looked behind seeing Zuko and other Firebender's shooting flames at him. He gritted his teeth before throwing Aang up onto Appa.

Aang: Ryu!!

The flames hit him as he was knocked down into the water.

Ryu: '...Well at least I died saving the Avatar...'

There was silence as his eyes where closed under the water.

Katara: ... ryu... RYU!

Fang: SIKE!!

I had half a mind to put the avatar theme on.

His eyes shot open with his pupils slitted. They all noticed the water were he fell beginning to glow purple and steam as he ascended back into the air with a vortex of flames under him.

Iroh: 'This probably won't end well.'

Aang: WOAH.

He breathed in and swung his hands up. Large boulders rose from the water as he launched them to the ship. They hit shaking the ship entirely leaving some sizable damage. Soon he rose up onto Appa with the flames dispersing.

Sokka: Now THAT was Fire and Earthbending.

He collapsed backwards exhausted.

Ryu: Hey guys...

Katara: You found Earth when there's at least 2 miles of water under...

Ryu: Gonna be honest, I'm not sure how I was able to do it. That and the Fire Vortex.

Aang: Ryu, you saved us!

Ryu: Ahh don't mention it. Also, Avatar huh? I guess it makes sense why you were trapped in the iceberg. A hundred years you where there, same amount of time you were missing? Honestly kinda mad I didn't figure it out myself.

Aang: Yeah...

Katara: Why didn't you tell us you were the Avatar?

Aang: Because, I never wanted to be.

Ryu: *Sigh* Preaching to the choir on that One bud.

Katara: What do you mean by that? Being able to bend multiple elements like that must be incredible!

Aang: It's not exactly as easy as it sounds.

Ryu: I have been chased down Firebender's by order of the FIRE LORD since I ran after finding out that he ordered it cause to use me for my skills since I was 12. A pretty rough lifestyle.

Katara: Oh... I'm really sorry.

Sokka: Man, that must've been pretty rough...

Ryu: Don't worry guys. It's just the piece of being an extraordinary bender.
