Ladies first, men just before.
Rua is the eldest sibling of Aonung & Tsireya. Her clan refused the idea of a daughter being the next Olo'eyktan. So when she was born: naturally, she was unliked by all. At least until Aonung was born 7 months later, and Tsireya 9 months after. Rua was... ignored, and pushed to the side, despite being the future Olo'eyktan.
She finds comfort in the Sully children, a fellow outcast in particular.

Rua smiled softly as the young girl squealed happily, showing her parents the necklace she'd finally finished creating. "That's so good, Mil'wunia! You're doing so well!" Rua pulled her beaded shoulder cover back over as she stood, extending a hand out towards the parents. "Soon she will be assisting in the celebrations and parties as an accessory creator," She praised. The young mom smiled softly. "Thank you, future Olo'eyktan," Her mate was slightly less warm, just uttering a simple, "Future Olo'eyktan," As he shook her hand. Rua pushed down the hurt: she was very used to the treatment.
Her clan desperately wanted a male Olo'eyktan to succeed her father, Tonowari. But alas, Rua was born from her mother's womb at six months, holding onto life through Tsahaylu for another three. Her brother, Ao'nung was born a mere seven months later, and Tsireya nine months after that. The clan loved that a son was born and begged for her parents to name him successor: but her parents held strong and kept Rua as Olo'eyktan in training. Her mom, Ronal, was currently expecting another baby, most likely a boy, Tsireya had predicted as Tsahìk in training.
But, despite her clan's trying, Rua had held strong to her position as Olo'eyktan. If she handed it over to Ao'nung, who was far too immature to be Olo'eyktan, then if nothing else, her parents would look foolish for fighting for her all these years, just for her to throw it away.
A sudden screeching drew her attention out of the hut. She grabbed her dagger and sheathed it as a precaution and tied her beaded cover up tightly. She rushed out of the hut, pushing other members by to see what was happening. "Ao'nung, what is going on?" She stepped out in front, eyes widening at the six forest na'vi stepped off of their banshees, Ikran, if Rua remembered correctly. The tallest one, the father, held his hands out peacefully. Rua stood up straight and walked in front of her clan members. "We come in peace," He declared, pulling his hand down from his eyes. "Oel ngati kameie, Olo'eyktan Rua,"
Rua copied the gesture. "Oel ngati kameie, Jake Sully." She took a small step to her left, eyeing up the other forest na'vi followed behind. She greeted his mate, Neytiri, as well. "What can the Metkayina do for you, Jake Sully?" He glanced around nervously, causing Rua to do the same. "Come, we can talk in my hut. It is more private," A screech made her finch. "I'd send your... um... Ikrans... to our mangrove area so as not to scare my clan members," She shot a pointed look at the family.
They slowly walked to Rua's hut, one next to her parents. "If you unclip the tie here, we'll be shielded." She gave a gentle smile to a young girl. "Please continue with your daily activities, everybody," She called with a smile. "Tsireya," She beckoned her younger sister over. "Can you make sure people don't listen outside?" Tsireya flashed a smile. "Of course," Rua sent a smile back before ducking back into her hut. "You are Omatikaya, correct?" She asked, sitting down. She reached over to the fire and poured some liquid into some pots for them to drink. "It is a brew made from a calming plant Aesculus. It will help ease your nerves,"
She took a sip of her own drink. This was the first big thing she'd done alone, whilst her parents were offshore. "Where are Olo'eyktan Tonorwari and Tshaìk Ronal?" Jake asked. "They're on a visit to another clan, just up the Eastern seaboard. I believe they'll return in a few days." Rua smiled. "I do have to ask you, Jake Sully. Why are you here? Omatikaya do not belong in the sea,"
She noticed a few wary glances. "We come seeking Uturu," His wife, Neytiri, finally said. "Uturu?" Rua gasped over her tea. "But aren't you Olo'eyktan yourself? Toruk Makto?" Jake seemed to be embarrassed. "My family are escaping from war." He continued. "War continues to plague the forest. It nearly took my boys a few days ago, which is why we fled," Rua couldn't help the glance to the elder Sully boys. One of them had a patch of coloured paste over his shoulder and the other rested his hands on his knees, not meeting eyes with anybody. "I cannot let you bring your war here, Jake Sully. The Metkayina have not seen war for many years, and are not prepared to fight if it happened. Many would be lost,"
Jake looked down. "I just wanna protect my family," He held the hand of a small girl, no older than Mil'wunia. Rua sighed softly and turned her eyes to the fire, thinking. The family muttered quietly amongst themselves and Tsireya chastised their brother and his merry band of idiots from trying to sneak in. Rua sighed once more, sitting up straight, and meeting Jake's eyes. "I am not full Olo'eyktan, you understand. Any decision I make now, my parents have full power to overturn upon their return," She began. She saw a small spark of hope ignite in his eyes. "But I will grant you Uturu. At least until my parents return, where they will give final judgement,"
She smiled softly at the obvious relief in the family. "Do not thank me yet. My mother may very well turn you away, you understand? She is far stricter than I, or my sister." She warned. "Of course. Even staying here for a few days to lay out our next game plan is helpful in ways you cannot imagine,"
Game plan? Rua thought to herself, confused. She shook her head softly, her undone black wavy hair falling behind. "Until my parents return, you will sleep in this hut. My hut. If only for the reason nobody enters the Olo'eyktan's hut without permission."
"If they do?" The younger boy, around her age, asked. "Lo'ak," Jake hissed. Rua held her hand up. "it is ok. They get punished with barnacle removal from the underside of the huts all day for three days. My mother very much loves this punishment, and regularly disciplines my siblings and me with this," She smiled at the boy, Lo'ak, before reaching over and shaking Jake Sully's hand. "If you so wish, you may wander freely about the village into any open space or venture into the shallows of the water. My sister and I will accompany you as best as we can. I will have to leave periodically to assist the village with its problems and running. You are also free to return to this hut whenever you wish," She gestured to the corner. "There are some sleeping mats and blankets tucked in the corner for you to use as well,"

A few months later, Rua took the time to play with her Ilu, Aywa, for the first time in a while. She spotted a darker skinned na'vi sitting on the rocks, so she swam over. "Lo'ak, right?" She said as a greeting, sitting down. "Uh, yeah." He frowned. "For what it's worth," She grunted softly, sitting down. "I believe you about Payakan," She dipped her toes into the clear water. "Wait, really?" She hummed. "Yeah. I was trying to convince my family that there must be something they were missing,"
The two sat in comfortable silence. "What I actually mean by that is I know how he feels... with being outcasted, ignored." She felt Lo'ak's eyes bore into her skull. "You're future Olo'eyktan, how are you ignored?" He huffed. "In case you hadn't noticed, my clan don't respect me. I doubt I'll be Olo'eyktan for long before they push for a new leader," She sighed, looking to the sunset. "But it's ok. I don't care much, I just like being left to my own devices."
"Same," She heard him mumble.
Overcome by the sudden urge to be a normal sixteen-year-old, she bumped her shoulder into his. "S'ok. We can be outcasts together," She smiled. He huffed a laugh with an eye roll. "Yeah yeah..." Then his eyes brightened mischievously. "Best make it a trio. Last one to Payakan is a worm,"
Rua raced after him, laughing loudly.
