Autumn was still too weak to walk, but she was getting better. Strength returned to her little by little and she ate the food given to her, even though it tasted gross. But she dealt with it anyway, determined to be restored to full strength.

She missed her parents, but Grizelda was kind and gentle. It was as if Autumn was Grizelda's real daughter. Autumn was still injured and couldn't walk, so Grizelda would pick her up in her huge jaws and carry her around.

Autumn learned that they were grizzly bears, and the cubs' names were Ursula, Toko and Maverick, whom she became friends with.

Autumn was finally happy, away from the wolves-and away from death.
