She spat as she crossed her arms.

Jacob: Helen.

I retorted back.

Helen: Listen, I don't know what your problem is but you need to chill because we need to talk.

Jacob: About what, Helen? What in the world is going on in your life that concerns me?

Helen: The fact that you keep playing with my emotions, that's what. First you drop me for that no good, crippled bitch, Autumn and then you come crawling back to me just to break up again but still wanna put it down on me!

I rolled my eyes.

The bell rang and the halls cleared. We were the only ones left. She grinned and wrapped her arms around my neck.

I wrapped my arms around her waist and leaned down into her ear.

She stared at me blankly for a while. Bags and dark circles under her eyes. Without taking her eyes off me, she grabbed a sticky note and wrote down her signature. Then she handed it to me.

Principal: Go.

I smiled.

Principal: Mr. Latimore, just go before I change my mind.

I wasted no time leaving. I got into my black Lincoln and drove to Auntumn's place. I knocked on the door and after the fifth knock and a groan, she answered the door. I smiled.

Jacob: Autumn..

Autumn: Jacob..

She snapped back.

Jacob: May I come in?

Autumn: Do I have a choice?

Rolling her eyes, she walked inside and left me standing there. But I quickly followed her.

Jacob: How you feeling?

Autumn: I'm fine.. I just finished therapy at that one place.. Hillside, I think it's called..

I took my hat off as I nodded and sat down. Her eyes trailed over to me.

Autumn: You're here early.

I smiled.

Jacob: You missed me, didn't you?

Autumn: Don't get your hopes up.

Jacob: Yeah, you missed me.

Autumn: Fuck outta here, you rat!

I laughed.

Jacob: I brought you your schoolwork.. Not that it matters if you don't know the material..

She glared at me.

Autumn: Excuse me, sir. But I have been getting all A's so far and what's your grades look like? I bet that you make straight F's!

I grinned.

Jacob: I do..

Autumn: And you're proud of yourself for that?

Jacob: Very much so. I got a F in fucking. The key is that I put my D in it and.. well, bring that ass up to so I can C and B all up in it. I do it so good that her A explodes. And that's how I get my grades.

She cringed.

Autumn: So you fuck the teachers.. Okay..

Then she walked off. She got me good.

Jacob: No, wait! Autumn! That's not what I meant!

She just shrugged and went into the kitchen.

Autumn: How well can you cook?

Jacob: Very well, actually.

Autumn: Sure you do.

She said, pulling out a can opener.

Jacob: Hey, you asked. I just told you the truth.

Autumn: Sure you did because the truth is now a lie, which is what you've been telling me! Nothing but lies since I've known you!

I sighed and rubbed my face. When will she let that go?

Jacob: Listen, Autumn. I didn't mean for you to get hit by that car and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

Autumn: Oh, yes you did. I woke up in pain, alone. I woke up to hell. I woke up to some dumb bitch punching me square in the face for nothing! And you want me to let that go?

She laughed an evil laugh. Then suddenly stopped, whipping her head back with one sharp movement. I swear, I thought that her head was gonna spin clear off her head! And the way that her eyes pierced through mine made it seem like she was staring into my very soul and slowly eating it alive.

Autumn: And not to mention-.

Jacob: Don't say it..

I threatened. I didn't want her reminding me of our lost baby together. It already hurts to even think that it happened.

Jacob: You know what..

Autumn: What? Oh, I see. Go ahead and go back to Helen. You both hate me anyway. Why so concerned now?

Jacob: I've told you already! Helen and I are done! D-O-N-E! She cheated with my homeboy and now I'm done with both of them!

Jacob: And you really don't see the big picture, do you? Autumn Elizabeth Summers, I Love You, okay? I Love You Autumn and that's true whether you accept it or not.

I smiled and laughed sarcastically.

Jacob: You know what? You're right. Why am I here if you don't want me here? I'll tell you what,

I said as I put my hat back on.

Jacob: Tell me what you want and I'll do it. You want me gone? So be it. But I'll tell you what, Princess. If you say that you want me gone, I'll never bother you again or die trying to get you to realize the truth. That being that I Love You.

Staring into her eyes with my hands on her counter, I looked at the clock for a moment to make sure that I could escape smoothly. It's only 3:45, I got time. The only thing that caught me off guard was that she wasn't saying anything at all. So I made my way over to her and slowly eased my hands up to the sides of her face.

I was speechless. Do I really want him to go? Do I want him to stay? I couldn't decide on what to say but instead got caught up in his eyes and lips. They were perfect.. if only his personality matched up to his face.. Then I felt his hands place themselves on my shoulders and slowly make their way up to the sides of my face. His face slowly inched closer to mine and he rubbed his nose lightly against my cheek.

I could feel his lips gliding across the sid of my mouth. Oh, how I wanted this so badly.. But I couldn't give up. I slowly brought my hands up to his chest and got a good grip on his shirt, then quickly shoved him away from me. Taken aback by this sudden action, he nodded and grabbed his keys as he began to purposely slowly walk out of the kitchen. I followed him to the front door, but he never opened the door.

Autumn: Aren't you going to leave?

Jacob: I was, but I realized that I never got an answer from you.
