Laying here in this room, I hear beeping.. The constant beeping of a machine. What is going on here? I take a deep breath just to feel a sharp pain in my chest.

Autumn: Fuck!

I bit my bottom lip and squeezed my eyes shut as I tried to calm down. What happened? The last thing I remember is.. Oh.. That's right.. I got hit by a car.. I heard something move and I looked to the side. I saw a guy sitting there and he appeared to be sleeping. Why does he look so familiar? I then look around a little more closely and realize that I'm in a hospital. Great.. Just great.. I didn't want to see those bitches at school anyway.. Matter of fact, when I get out of this hospital and regain my strength, I'm coming up there and I'm whoopin' some ass. I heard a loud beep and I quickly held my head. It was a long sound and I had a massive headache. Just then the guy sat up.

Jacob: Autumn?

My head shot towards his direction and instantly, my emotions erupted with fire. I couldn't speak. My anger was up to the maximum capacity and my actions were hindered because of the machines I was connected to. I turned away from him.. Well, I tried but it hurt too bad.

Jacob: Autumn, you're awake!

Autumn: Fuck off Jacob. Why are you here?

Jacob: I came to check on my girl.. See how she's doing..

Autumn: Your girl is at the school. Remember? You date Helen Miller..

Jacob shook his head and chuckled.

Jacob: Not since I fell in love with you.

Autumn: You know something? You're a really great liar!

Jacob: What?

Autumn: You heard me! You're a fu-.

I moaned and covered my ears because the sound went off again.. How annoying..

Jacob: Are you okay?

Autumn: I'm fine.. I'd be better without you!

Jacob: Autumn.. Stop. You're only stressing yourself out. You're gonna hurt yourself more..

Autumn: Why do you care? Why is it that you care all of a sudden?

Jacob: Because I love you..

I laughed and shook my head.

Autumn: You don't even know what love is..

Jacob was about to say something when the nurse came in.

Nurse: I see you're awake now. How are you feeling?

Autumn: Could be better..

I said, eyeing Jacob.

Jacob: Autumn..

I rolled my eyes as she continued to do her job.

Nurse: Anything hurting you today?

Autumn: My chest and my head..

Nurse: Okay, and can you sit up for me?

Autumn: I'll try.. How long have I been asleep?

Jacob helped me sit up and I just glared at him.

Nurse: About a month and a half.

Autumn: Wow.. That must've been a good dream.. Besides when I saw Jacob..

I scoffed.

Jacob: So you were dreaming about me too?

He smiled.

Autumn: Don't get your hopes up too high. Your nappy headed ass is annoying with your I love yous and crap. Like your stupid false promises to me to be a better person and to date me.

He paused.

Jacob: You heard that? Autumn, you weren't dreaming.. I actually said those things to you..

I stayed silent.

Autumn: Oh yeah?

Jacob: Yeah.

He nodded and smiled.

Autumn: Well, your words don't mean shit..

I had crushed him and I was proud of myself for doing so. I vowed to no longer be the pushover that I used to be. He won't get to me without a fight. No sir. Jacob helped me lay back down and for a while, he just looked at me.

Autumn: What?

Jacob: You're still beautiful..

Autumn: No I'm not..

Jacob: Yes you are.

Autumn: No, and I can prove it to you.

Jacob: How?

Autumn: My mother has always told me that I'm gorgeous. Thank you very much.

Jacob: That you are..

Autumn: Too late. Momma said it first.

Jacob chuckled and touched my cheek. I moved my head so he could get the message I was trying to send. He continued to smile and slowly got away from my face.

Nurse: Well, Autumn. We're gonna have to keep for a little while longer. Just until you can walk and then you'll be released.

Then she left. Jacob just stared at me.

Autumn: What now? Why are you staring?

Jacob: Because you don't stand in the presence of a goddess, such as yourself, everyday.

I rolled my eyes.

Autumn: Get the fuck out of here.

Jacob: I'm not lying! I swear!

He laughed.

Autumn: Yeah, well a goddess ain't ain't a goddess without powers.. I'd like to have the power to make murders look like suicides.. Starting with you..

Jacob: Wow.. Why so violent?

Autumn: Why are you such an asshole?

Jacob: I'm not asshole. Just a sweet young man who loves having a bit of fun here and there..

Autumn: Mmhmm.. Get out.

Jacob: Make me.

He said, getting close to my face.

Autumn: Get out my face!

He only got closer and I turned my head.

Jacob: Make me.. Use that power of yours..

He smiled and waited.. Nothing..

Jacob: I thought so..

He kissed my cheek and got out of my face.

Autumn: Ew! I don't know where your lips have been! They could've been anywhere!

Jacob: On you.. Anywhere on you.

He winked.

Jacob: Be good!

He made kiss noises and then left. Ugh.. I hate his guts.. He needs to leave me alone. Why is he so concerned with me now? Whatever.. It's okay. I'm gonna kill him anyway.. one way or another, I am going to kill him..
