Q: Do you have plans to expand the current series you're working on?
A: Actually, I do. Originally, the series was supposed to be only one book, but I realized it would have so many chapters, so I tried to put myself in the shoes of the majority of readers and concluded that they would be overwhelmed by a large number of chapters.
Now, the story will be divided into three parts, and I am toying with the idea of including some side stories with the other characters. I intend to make those books stand alone, but they will always be better if you understand the bigger picture.
Q: Do you have a favorite author on Wattpad? If so, who? What story is your favorite?
A: This is a really difficult question to answer because I have met so many amazing writers, and their work is truly remarkable, but if I had to choose just one, I would choose @TheAlixDavenport. She has an amazing book called Russian Roulette: Family Secrets, the 2021 edition.
Q: What prompted you to do book awards?
A: I have always wanted to participate in one, but I was unsure if my book would be liked by people. After some time, I gave in and entered one.
I really enjoyed the experience as both a participant and a judge, and I have read some really great books.
As a result, I thought that this was a great way to meet new people and interact with writers, and I got to read some pretty hidden gems.
Q: Have you thought of starting a community profile to host book awards?
A: It had been on my mind for a while, but I became preoccupied with real life, the award book, the review book, and my own books. I might give it a shot once I have some free time.
From the Author
My book began as a distraction from my depression and suicidal thoughts. At first, my writing made no sense; I was just writing random paragraphs and scenarios that most likely would not occur in real life.
I was frustrated at first because I could not come up with a plot or compelling characters (in my opinion), but it kept my mind from wandering off into darkness. Then, at night, I was thinking about my characters and how to improve the story, rather than having dark thoughts that filled my insomnia.
I gradually improved, and now, two years later, we have the book Hearts Divided.
It still needs to be improved because I believe it is far from perfect, but I am pleased with how far the story has progressed. So, if you want to contribute to the improvement of this book, go ahead and try it.
I am currently looking for a publishing house that will accept my book, and with any luck, my work will be available in libraries.
About the Story
The world of the mafia comes to life as Scarlett is caught in a storm of emotions as she's torn between Cain and Blaze. Who will she choose? What will be the consequences? Find out in Hearts Divided, now featured on our Spotlight reading list!
Q: What inspired your Mafia series?
A: I came across some books in this genre that I adored, one of which is Mario Puzzo's well-known novel 'The Godfather'. Surely, my work will never be as good as his, but this man paved the way for me.
Q: Are any of the characters based off of people you know?
A: Some of them are, indeed. I have created five characters based on people I know, including Scarlett. We have her two bodyguards, Zack and Contantine, followed by her sister, Hazel, and their mother.
They may not have the same jobs, features, or names, but they are based on real people whom I happened to know.
Q: What is your favorite scene? Why?
A: This is also a difficult question to answer because I have many favourite scenes, particularly the spicy ones, but I will go with the final scene in the first volume.
Scarlett is telling Blaze one of her secrets, and he acts out of character. If you read the whole book, you would expect him to be enraged and threaten her, but he does the exact opposite. This scene will continue in the third or fourth chapter of the second book, when even he will question why he acted as he did.
I enjoy this scene because we can see his struggles to understand his emotions as well as the way he acts. Blaze is constantly fighting with the past, even though he pretends to be a bad boy who is unaffected by anything, but his walls occasionally crumble.
Besides, I believe this is one of the points where Blazes will begin to understand why he is so drawn to her.
