Dear whoever reads this,
(I forgot to hit publish last night whoops)
Wow it's been a hot second lmao. I've been through a lot since my last entry. My cat died, I turned 19, and I've done most of my finals by now.
Also I finished Legacies and now my sister and I have started to watch Merlin.
Anyways I'm going to be honest. I'm only writing this entry because I made a whole bunch of covers for books on my werewolf account I've been writing but haven't published. I'm very proud so I'm going to put the summary of each of the books so that there's context :)
THE WAR SERIES:
1. The Remaining - The War Series Book 1
Annaya, after years of an intense romance with who she thought was the love her life, is left alone. On his death bed, her mate informed her of her worse fears come true. He had been having an affair for months, and was planning on leaving her if he survived.
Caught between mourning what she thought she had, and angry at the man she believed to have loved her as much as she had loved him, Annaya has to learn how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where the wars that once plagued the earth have died down.
Annaya was determined to learn how to deal with her trauma, and almost reached a point where she thought she could be alone, when suddenly the king released an order. Almost half of the wolves population had been killed in the war, and he needs his people to repopulate. This leaves Annaya assigned to a male, a new mate for her to try and create a baby with. She's forced to pick a battle: Fight against him, and become a single mother. Or embrace the change, and possibly find new love.
2. The Second Chance - The War Series Book 2
The king knew her for seven days, three hours, and only a short two minutes before she was gone. His mate, the one he was supposed to cherish and love for all eternity, was dead barely after he knew she existed. He knew so much but at the same time nothing at all. He memorized the sound of her laugh, the feeling that arose in his chest each time she smiled at him, and he knew that if asked he could recite the exact number of freckles that dusted her face, as he counted and took the opportunity to kiss each one on the third day.
On the seventh day she was gone, and with her went an opportunity for him to learn everything else. He would never know what she would be like as a queen, he would never know what it would be like to start a family with her, and he would never know if they would have ever truly fallen in love. He was smitten, but it was only seven days.
Due to the large drop in the werewolf population, Jaxon and his council had to make a rough decision; To force their people, who were still mourning their lost ones, to move on and create new families. To force those who lost mates into forging new relationships. When making his decree, Jaxon thought that he would be pardoned from these new rules.
And then, the day of the matchmaking, he found that even he couldn't rise above his own law.
3. The Betrayal - The War Series Book 3
Placed chronologically before The Remaining, The Betrayal follows Kalani Rivers as she meets and falls in love with the man who destroyed almost everything, the man who was responsible for the thousands of deaths during the war-- including that of the King's original queen. The man who was supposed to love Kalani back, and accept his role as a Luna by her side. The man who gave into his power hungry, misogynistic views, and ruined not only his own life, but hers as well.
4. Her (A Short Story) - The War Series Companion
Based off The Remaining, Her follows the story of a young, naive girl who just wanted to be loved--only to find love in the wrong place with the wrong person. It's easy to place the blame on a person you hardly know, and after her lover's death she has taken the brunt of it. She recognizes her mistakes--but there's more to the story than what an arrogant man once said to his mate on his death bed.
THE MATE SERIES:
1. Werewolf - The Mate Series Book 1
When Madelyn woke up in a hospital room, she could remember most things. She remembered her mother's smile, her father's unwavering support, and the way it felt when she graduated high school. Ask her anything past that--and she couldn't tell you. Diagnosed with retrograde amnesia after an unfortunate car accident, she finds herself stranded in a town she doesn't remember moving to and a mind full of phone numbers her family no longer uses.
She's shocked to find that not only is the man whom she accidentally hit with her car not pressing charges, but he is offering to pay for all damages as well as a place for her to stay. Little did she know that the doctor was not one to normally specialize in humans--and she finds as she stays close to the man, there might be more supernatural occurrences in the world than she previously thought.
Head on into a world of wolves, Madelyn tries to accept her role around them, but soon enough her past will catch up. And the hunters who seem to keep attacking might have a closer relationship with her than previously thought.
2. Hunter - The Mate Series Book 2
The prequel to Werewolf, Hunter follows Madelyn's journey as she enters college and is initiated into a secret society which specializes in hunting a specific kind of animal--one most would assume to be a myth. Here she finds the family she previously hadn't known, and a man with whom she is willing to spend the rest of her life. Faced with inner demons, as she questions whether what they are doing is morally right, Madelyn is pushed by her newly introduced biological parents to accept her new role in society, and train to become the most powerful leader the hunters have ever seen.
THE GUIDE BOOK:
A Look Into Werewolves - The Universe Textbook Guide
Based off the textbook introduced in The Mate Series, A Look Into Werewolves introduces the concepts of how werewolves came to be, powers each werewolf might hold, and the intricacies of the mate bond. Both of these series follow new, original concepts that I have created for my universe specifically--and this book is the place to find most of the answers to your questions. Also inside this textbook is a timeline with the chronological placement of my books, as well as a character guide in case you forgot who is who.
Anyways that's obviously a lot of books. I wrote pretty much all of The Remaining back in like 2018-ish my main problem is it has LOTS of errors and plotholes so it's taken literal years to try and fix up. I don't even want to look at the other parts of the series until I figure The Remaining out. I wrote "Her" one day when I got bored during AP gov last year and I lowkey am into it.
I changed the titles for the mate series where it went from hunters/werewolves to hunter/werewolf mostly bc the fonts looked weird with werewolves being such a long world lol. My problem with this series is I want to release Werewolf first, as I love the idea of having a book and then having a prequel where you can read it and go "omg wait, so that's how that happened???" but if i'm being honest I've been rewriting hunter over and over again since freshman year of high school, around the same time I started writing my first kotlc fanfic. I've changed the plot so many times, and honestly Hunter and Werewolf used to be one book together until I think my third rewrite where I realized the main problem with my constantly having to rewrite is there was so much detail but the book was so freaking long.
I'm proud of all of these books, and if I'm being honest writing and reading werewolf-genre books is where my heart is always at. I love writing my keeper fanfics as well as writing foreign--but there's something about werewolves that gets my heart going. I love playing around with the different myths and folklore, and twisting the race into a making of my own and putting my own spin on the different aspects of werewolf stories. Choosing all of my favorite ideas, and putting them together in one. I can't do that so well with fanfictions, where there are rules inside the worlds I'm writing about that I can't simply change for my own amusement, and it's not as prevalent when writing a teenfic.
Anyways there's my little author heart being spilled. While we're here, for some reason I like reading vampire stories but the thought of writing one is unappealing to me lmaoo.
Anyways I'm going to pretend I posted this last night and didn't forget and had to post this in the morning.
gn.
love,
Emily
