Mink deserves more love

Okay so like
I've been in the DMMD fantom since the game came out, because I've always been a big fan of Nitro+CHIRAL games.
I absolutely adore the DMMD games, and no, not just because of the great yaoi scenes. But also because of the story and characters. Those characters, being my absolute favorite part.

However, a lot of people seem to dislike a certain character. That character being Mink. But I absolutely love Mink, and I feel like he doesn't deserve all the hate he gets. So have a whole page about him to prove my point!

First of all, let's start with his personality.
When you first meet him in the game, he is very cold and ruthless, almost allowing his entire Scratch team to rape Aoba. Aoba, of course, escapes this, but is forcibly thrown into a locked room by Mink and the others soon afterwards.
Throughout the game, Mink preferred to keep himself distanced from Aoba, except for when he needed something from him. Alongside this, he only did things for Aoba when he could get something in return for it.
However, towards the end of the game, Aoba uses scrap on Mink, revealing dark things about his past. His family, home, and entire tribe was taken away from him by Toue. He was made into a heartless husk of a man, bottling up his feelings and relieving them through aggression. He felt alone and lost in the hell he was in. But when Aoba saved him with scrap, Mink realized that he wasn't alone in the dark anymore. He immediately became more sympathetic and caring towards Aoba, risking everything to kill Toue, saving him and everyone in Midorijima.
Along with this, through scrap, Aoba finds out that the only reason why Mink was so distant was so that Aoba didn't mourn him if he died trying to save everyone. He didn't want him to be hurt by his death in the end, so he pushed everyone away, in fear of making people feel the need to pity him. And as such, he wanted Aoba to despise him. He absolutely did not want to hurt Aoba.

Next, let's take a look at how he acted in DMMD Re:Connect.
When Mink went missing, isolating himself from the rest of the world to return to his tribal grounds, Aoba searched the world for him. He deeply missed him, and he knew that the man he loved wasn't dead. He sensed it. And when Aoba finally found him, he tried so hard to get Mink to see how much he meant to him.
Yet again, however, Mink pushed him away, not wanting Aoba to be hurt if he ever were to die. He ignored Aoba, trying to get him to leave. But he was persistent.
One night, Mink left the house for many hours. Much longer than he usually would. Aoba, worried, ran out in the cold weather without a jacket to look for him. But he didn't find him. So he returned to the house, where it was even colder than the outdoors, and he just lied on the couch. He didn't light the fireplace, but instead, he slept in the cold. Mink did, eventually, return, scolding Aoba for how stupid he was to fall asleep without the fire to warm him. He brought Aoba to his own room, lying him down on his bed, and gave him a towel so that he could take a warm bath.
Mink was genuinely concerned for Aoba's health in these scenes. He was afraid that Aoba would freeze to death, and he was grateful that he made it back before that happened.

So in conclusion, Mink is one of my favorite characters from DMMD and he is completely undeserving of all the hate he recieves. What's not to love about him?
