District 9 Male- Scout Forman

Name: Scout Forman

Age: 15

District: 9

Gender: Male

Appearance: Scout has always been on the paler side, his complexion making it look as he's never done a day's worth of work. His hair is a rich dark brown that turns a little lighter in the sunlight. His eyes are dazzling blue but in a certain light they almost turn grey. He looks skinny like he might not even be able to pick up a weapon but honestly his form is on the lithe side. It's agile giving him an advantage. Of all it's his legs he's proud of, that's where most of his strength is at. It put some people off that he gave tiny smirks as he was getting teased almost like taunting them. When he smiled bigly dimples would pop out.

Personality: His whole life he's been teased for seeming to look really weak, girly even. It's made him to be weary of others. He doesn't talk often preferring to listen to what others say. He's by no means shy or soft. He just likes to see others weakness. His intelligence level as always been a source of making fun of him as well. In the end Scout's personality is one of closed of feature, one can say cold even, he won't talk really unless you say something first. He's not afraid to get what he wants that's why he prefers not to trust anybody especially in games where only one gets to live.

Background: Scout didn't have a good childhood, in fact he lived on the worser side of District 9, his mom left him for dead on the streets one night when he was barely six. It was around that time he started to realize that his mother was not a good person. That she didn't do any of the things other moms did. He didn't have a dad he had left before he had been born. His mom always blamed him for that.

He was on the streets for about two months living off thrown away food which sometimes he didn't get seeing as others also preyed the streets for food. It's where Scout learned survival skills. He noticed that to get what he wanted he had to fight others to be able to get it. He couldn't be kind and hope they would give him a piece.

One day everything changed a man had seen him sleeping behind a garbage can. Scout had to be careful cause at any moment he could be taken to the Orphanage and while maybe that wouldn't be so bad he had grown to know the streets. Yet that day the man spoke softly to him trying to convince him to come out of the little corner.

Scout after that got adopted into the Forman family. They were certainly different to what he was used to. They lived in the middle of District 9, they were looking for someone to adopt but nobody stood out to them until his new dad found him.

The years after that consisted of pure teasing from his peers, Scout didn't let it get to him but with every tease or push he would get a little more amused. It was after one punch to the face that he begged his father to teach him to fight at least hand to hand combat. Scout was in all honesty not looking to volunteer but the boy who had gotten reaped came from a family who had already lost two boys in a row to those games.

Strengths: His intelligence, hand to hand combat, his ability to read others.

Weaknesses: His lithe body, he's quiet and people think that makes him useless.

Weapon: A 2 inch dagger.

Token: A silver pocket watch from his father.

GAMEMAKER REACTIONS

"Wow, I feel like I can really relate," Tris furrows her eyebrows as she reads the paper. "I never really fit in either. I also lost my parents too-"

"Sigh Tris. You're not the only one who grew up without real parents." Annabeth cuts in. "Plus as Gamemakers we're here to study and design the games, not sympathize the tributes."

"She is correct. But on the other hand we must understand out tributes before the games can begin yet we must not get too attached." Artemis Fowl agrees.

"I was ONLY saying that we had something in common. That's all. But if you really want me to go all serious, fine. Scout's pretty young, but his past is sort of what shaped him into what he is now. Whether spending his childhood on the streets is going to help him survive in the arena really depends on what he learned during those years and how he plans to apply them. There, happy?" Tris rolls her eyes and leans back into her seat. Ever since they found out that there were only a few tributes left that had to arrive Artemis and Annabeth were all business. No fun, no chatting, just work.

"That is very true. But remember, it's not all just physical. The strength of your mental state has just as- if not more importance. I am not talking about simply forming strategies and plans. I am talking about how Scout plans to deal with his sad past if it ever comes up. Just a thought." Artemis points out.

"I feel like during the games Scout may have to depend on the skills learned from his father and childhood because being the district for grain isn't really something you can learn much from to survive. I also feel like his struggle to survive in the past is a big advantage for him. He knows what to watch for, how much to trust people, all that stuff. But then again, like Tris said, it's how he applies it." Annabeth grumbles the last part, very aware of the other girl on the side of the room, smiling very smugly.
