Introduction: Meet your Teacher!

Welcome, aspiring writers! If you do not know this yet, my name is Tiana and I will be your humble "teacher," so to speak, for the entirety of this guidebook. Feel free to ask anything, suggest lessons, or comment on anything you feel necessary.

Opinions are gratefully appreciated here so don't be shy if you disagree with anything written within the book!

The reason this handy dandy notebook came to be is because I have been asked by many young authors for help in their writing. Often times, I find myself repeating the same things for each person, so I thought making a little book would be useful. Besides, it's nice to help out those in need and I am very happy to help anyone out.

A little about my "credentials" as a writer, so that you may decide on your own if you wish to read on and seek my advice here or personally through PM. If you do not, I will not be offended in the slightest, as we all are different and need different things.

》I have been writing much of my 25 years of existence. Of course, the majority of my younger days were more "journaling" my very ridiculous childhood.

》I began creative writing "seriously" at around the ripe age of 13. So, doing the math, I've been writing more "seriously" for about 12 years or so.

》I began my journey as a writer by writing basic romance fiction (lord knows what a 13 year old at that time would write about).

》However, in middle school (ages 12-14), I graduated to writing Harry Potter fanfiction. My (embarrassingly crappy) fanfic circulated within my group of friends like a wildfire. (I use to print out each chapter and then it would get passed around between our group and everyone would write their comments and suggestions on it. Basically like Stone Age Wattpad, lol)

》Also while still in middle school, I would exceed any minimum requirements for any writing in English classes (I once wrote a 18 typed, single spaced page story for English class. I was 12, by the way. Minimum was a page, double spaced. Teacher gave me an A+ but I doubt she read it lol)

》I wrote fanfiction privately (for my own enjoyment) for the next several years, up until the age of 19 or so. Fandoms include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Mass Effect series (video game), and Fruits Basket (anime). I'm probably missing some but I can't remember. Sometimes I'd read them to my little sister though. I also wrote original works as well, but those never lasted long.

》In high school, I took a creative writing class and was required to write a short story as a first assignment. I spent the rest of the year in this class writing a high fantasy book because my teacher liked my writing so much from our first assignment. Everyone kind of hated me because all I did in class was write while they had to do actual work. I never finished the book, unfortunately, but I still have it saved in my computer.

》Fresh out of high school, I finally started publishing my fanfiction online, via FanFiction.net (under the same username. You may go look at it if you want...but I cringe when I think of one of the stories). Fandoms included Uta no Prince-sama (anime), Ouran High School Host Club (anime), Assassin's Creed (video game series), and Twilight (DONT KILL ME! IT WAS A PHASE I HAD, MUCH LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. BITE ME. I'M NOT PROUD OF IT!) Generally speaking, I had relatively decent amount of good reviews, no one ever really flamed me. I use to write a lot of OC fanfiction, as that was more my forte at the time.

》Stopped writing for FanFiction.net and began to heavily Roleplay (RP) with other writers on Tumblr. I used to roleplay daily, enhancing my writing skills by learning from more seasoned RPers. Fandoms included Uta no Prince-Sama (anime), Kaichou wa Maid-sama (anime), and Assassin's Creed (video game series). Use to RP lemons and such but I have since ceased writing anything similar.

》Finally, as of March of 2014, I moved my tush on over to Wattpad and began writing reader insert fanfiction one shots. Fandoms include Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin (anime) and VIP (BigBang fandom).

》As of right now, my highest "rated" story is my Levi x Reader One Shots book, which has 240k reads/views, 6.3k votes, and 7.2k comments. The story itself has 23 parts and, at one point, was 211th in the FanFiction category for Hot List last year.

So, there is all that I have to offer with my writing. On the whole, I feel I might...be a slightly above average writer...? I am generally very proud of the work I produce, albeit embarrassed as some of the past things I use to write about.

To be perfectly clear, I am not a professional. I am not a published author, I have never had a book deal, nor do I make money from writing whatsoever. I don't have many followers, or that big of a fan base to be super credible on Wattpad. However, this book is here to help others from what I learned. I also am constantly making the same mistakes I will write about, I am still learning anything that I give tips about. Writing is a lifelong craft and journey, so there will always be things I am not aware of.

There are thousands of better writers out there in the world and on Wattpad, probably more than that. But as I've said, I am here to help those who seek my help, or those who are too shy to ask me. Thank you for reading!

Let's begin!
