Reminder, this is my personal head canon.

In general:

· Zoro is the Great Protector. Other characters might be protective, but it's heavier for Zoro.

· He is apathetic until something becomes important to him.
    o If you could get him to a protest, he'd level the city protecting people, but he probably wouldn't go on his own.

· Nothing is more important to him than his friends and family.
    o Dangerously, this includes himself. Luffy fights wanting everyone to survive, Zoro fights wanting everyone else to survive.

· He's surprisingly smart, what he lacks is a higher education.

· He's definitely a goofball, but you're not going to get a glimpse of it until he's comfortable around you, or surrounded by people he's comfortable around.

· Smart yes, but maybe not wise. Zoro has experienced things, but his rough exterior and focus on honing his skills has limited the variety of his lived experiences.

· He doesn't have a temper, but his "resting scowl face" and gruff manner have him come across as constantly irritated, so people misunderstand.
    o He does get angry, he's fully capable, but true anger from him is rare.

· His tendency toward introversion doesn't help his scowling manner. 

· He doesn't like fancy clothes, only because they rip if you fight in them and then someone is giving him grief about it.

· He is really gentle – Zoro's STRONG and he knows it, and half of his training is keeping that strength under control.

· He's not duplicitous, he's actually so blunt and honest it's part of why he's quiet. He's given away more than he meant to in the past, so he errs on the side of silence.

Romantically:

· He fumbles a bit in the good boyfriend category, but he tries, and the intent is genuine.
    o He remembers anniversaries, but he's not keen on dates, and picking gifts is hard for him.

· He's shy <3 - but it doesn't last too long. 

· He wants to look like he's calm, but his heart is going 100mph.

· He is surprisingly passionate in bed and good at being in control.

· His desires might not burn brightly, but the heat is persistent. (Your stamina is gonna improve one way or another, is all I'm saying.)

· He might not be a whips and chains kind of guy, but when he takes control, nothing's going to save you.

· He's gentle. He's gentle, but you're not going to be able to wiggle away from that gentleness.

· The "rules" for sex are straight forward, and he'll win every time, and by win, I mean more that you will be a fully satisfied partner before he even really gets started.

· TL;DR he's definitely a Slow Burn kind of guy, but ain't no one complaining.
