Phase 1

"Here is-Oh! Why if it isn't Aurthor-san." A voice said making you look down. You smiled happily as you looked down to see a certain green bean. Turning the music down on your headphones, you decided to respond.

"Jean-san. If it hasn't been a year." You smiled as you shifted your long board slightly. Carter, your companion, started sniffing at Bean. Her eyes narrowed in distrust. Jean laughed nervously.

"It's actually Bean, and I see you have a companion." Bean said correcting your mistake and was about to pet Carter before she growled lightly making him stop and look up to you. "A good companion. I can see she has.." He trailed off allowing you to nod.

"Yup, she is quite a rare one. Found her near Meteor city. Poor thing was only 3 months old." You said petting the top of Carter's head as she lightly glared at you. Bean chuckled lightly before holding out a large white pin with the number 7 on it.

"Well, I'm pretty sure you know the rules then?" Bean said. You nodded and grabbed the pin and putting it on your varsity jacket. Carter tilted her head at you and you chuckled.

"No, you don't have to wear a pin." Carter seemed to smile at that and barked happily as her tail wagged slightly.

"Well, good luck Aurthor-kun." Bean said and walked off.

"Right." You said to yourself and walked over to the wall. You set you long board down and sat on top of it, Carter laying down next to you. Many stared at you making you look down at your attire.

You wore a plain sky blue T-shirt, pale boot cut jeans, black hiking boots, a black varsity jacket with a light blueish purple color on the inside, a grey backpack with light blue outlines, and your signature headphones that were currently a blue and purple mixture. Looking to Carter she only had a normal black metal collar, only with a speaker system in it that connected to your Ipod that was in your backpack. Carter, feeling your stare, looked over to you with a raised eyebrow.

"Do I look okay in this?" You asked her. She huffed in annoyance and rolled her eyes, but gave a low growl. "What? Everyone's just staring and it's making me think I chose the wrong outfit." You said looking at your shirt as if it had a stain on it. Carter huffed once more and closed her eyes as if to ignore you. You sighed in response and leaned back, turning your music up once more, and closed your eyes to rest them.

~Time Skip~

"Mmprrh mpphh?" A voice said, but you didn't really hear it, that is until something nudged your leg. Opening an eye you noticed a fat guy in front of you. He wore a blue v-neck, on top of a grey long sleeve, and grey pants. Turning your music down you put your attention to the large man.

"I'm sorry, say again?" You said politely. The large man sweat dropped as carter gave him a distrusting look.

"Eh, heheh. I said my name is Tonpa, I noticed you're new to the exam. This is my 35th attempt." He said with a fake smile. 'I'm not new, but I won't tell him that' You thought to yourself.

"Cool." You simply said earning another sweat drop from Tonpa.

"W-Well I.." You slowly zoned Konpa out and looked over his shoulder, just now noticing the many more people, the highest number you could see so far was 402. A drink seemed to be put in front of your face making you look back to Koinpa just as he finished his long speech. "..So, how about a drink to new friends?" He asked.

You glanced down at the drink in front of you, it seemed to be a normal can of orange soda. You smiled gently. "Sure." You said taking the drink, Carter lifted her head and gave you a look. You glanced at her and used your Nen to let her know it was fine. She huffed in annoyance before staring at Konpai instead, making the fat man uncomfortable.

Looking at the can you decided to throw it into the air, catching it easily. "I'll drink it later, thank you.......... Konpai." You said with a smile as you continued throwing the can in the air and catching it, now fascinated by the can, not noticing Konpai correct you, nor notice him leave after about 5 minutes. You turned your music back up, now on a good song, as you continued to stare at the can. Thinking about how the exam will be.

Carter sat up and seemed to be staring at something. This snapped you out of your daze, your song now gone and forgotten, as you looked to where she was staring. Three guys exited the elevator. A tall old looking guy with black hair, glasses, and wore a normal suit as he carried a black and red suitcase. Next to him was a slightly shorter boy with feminine features, he wore a blue... cloak? You didn't exactly know, on top of a normal white jumpsuit. But what seemed to keep Carter's gaze was the last boy.

Around your height was a very short boy with logic defying black spiky hair that was green tinted at the top, he had soft yet determined hazel like eyes, he wore a green jacket with an orange outline and matching green shorts and boots, he also had a normal brown backpack with a fishing rod sticking out from the side of it. He seemed a lot younger than the two guys behind him. He seemed to be looking at the other contestants before stopping his gaze at Carter.

"He's an interesting boy." Carter nodded as she tilted his head at the boy. The boy seemed to be in a trance and started walking over to you and Carter before being stopped by Bean. Bean said something to the boy, handed him his pin, then walked off. The boy watched as Lean left, put on his pin, before looking back to Carter.

The blonde seemed to finally notice the boy's gaze and walked over to him. They talked, pointed at you and Carter, before the old guy joined the two. The others looked over to you and Carter. You waved slightly and Carter just laid back down. The three were about to walk over to you before a scream cut through the dead silence.

You and Carter instantly looked over to see a group of people. Interested you stood up, Carter following, and picked up your long board before heading into the crowd. Soon reaching near the middle you found a familiar face smirking as another man fell, dead. "Do take care. When you bump into someone, you really should apologize." Hi- Ki-..... Kisaki said.... You couldn't believe he was at the Hunter Exam... Actually you king of knew he was doing it again. Shaking your head you walked off, ignoring the sight.

"BLelelelelelelllleeee-lup!" Something rang out, cutting through your headphones, making you, Carter, and everyone else look towards the front. At the front stood a tall, lanky man, with an interesting mustache that seemed to move as he talked. He wore a black suit with a purple tint, most likely to match his purple hair. Blinking you noticed him turn around and started to walk away.

You sat your long board down and got on it, lightly kicking off in a slow pace, Carter walked beside you as you both ignored the glares of other contestants. You noticed people starting to jog and smirked, looking to Carter she seemed to smirk as well, and you both started going faster. After a while everyone was running at a good pace when the man up front spoke once more.

"I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz, the Phase One examiner. I shall lead you to the exam's Second Phase." Satotz said as he kept his gaze forward.

"Second Phase?" A voice yelled out making you roll your eyes. Carter seemed to do the same by the looks of it. "What about the First Phase." The same person asked. 'Didn't he just say this was the first phase?' You thought sarcastically.

"It has already commenced." Was all... Sakura said in response.

After a while a shout was heard behind you, but you ignored it as you slowly inched your way towards the front, soon riding next to, Saturn. Saturn glanced at you. "Aurthor, I see you return." He said, low enough for only you to hear. He looked over to see Carter running next to you. "And I see you brought a friend." You nodded and glanced at him.

"Hello Sage-" You said.

"Satotz."

"-Satotz-san, sorry." You said scratching the back of your head nervously. "And yes, this is Carter, my companion." Carter barked as if to agree.

"It's fine, and I see she is quite a unique one." Satotz commented as you kicked lightly, continuing your speed.

"Yup, found her not to long ago, seems to be connected to me." You mindlessly commented and yawned slightly. "How much longer?" You asked.

"Quite a while, be free to do whatever till then." Sa..... Sam said.

"'Kay, see you Sam-."

"Satotz."

"-Satotz-san." You said and slightly slowed to be near the wall yet near the back.

Carter barked at you, gaining your attention from thinking about what it would be to ride a dragon. "Hmm?" You hummed at Carter, she looked past you to someone else, looking over you noticed the old guy from before, tilting your head, you turned your music down slightly. "Yes?" He seemed to gain a tick mark before pointing at your long board.

"YOU AND THAT BOY ARE ONE IN THE SAME, YOU'RE CHEATING!" He yelled. Carter slightly growled at him until you put a hand to stop her.

"No I'm not, I'm following, not cheating." You said sticking your tongue out. Carter seemed to snicker at the action as the old guy gained another tick mark.

"WHY YO-"

"Seriously? Again with that?" Another boy seemed to say as the black haired boy appeared with a white haired boy. The white haired boy had piercing blue eyes, a matching blue turtleneck with a white over shirt, and grey shorts. He seemed to be carrying a skateboard himself, only it was yellow with a red arrow pointing to the front. The black haired boy seemed to realize something as he pointed at you.

"OH! You're that one boy with the dog!" He seemed to exclaim in delight. You smiled happily and waved once more.

"Hi." You said as Carter barked once more, now appearing in front of you and the three boys.

"Eh, your dog looks so pretty." The black haired boy said with a smile, Carter just looked at the boy before looking forward once more making you laugh at her. She then glared at you with a light growl before barking.

"What?" You looked at her as she glared at your. "I thought your reaction was pretty funny." She growled again before slowing down slightly. "Awww, Carter~." You purred, she huffed as she ignored you.

"Are you okay?" A voice said making you look back to the 3 boys running beside you, the blonde from earlier now joining them, as they stared at you concerned. You waved them off.

"Yes I'm okay. Anyways, what's you're names?" You asked with a smile. The white haired boy seemed to slightly glare at you.

"Aren't you supposed to give your name before asking someone else's?" He asked making you blink in surprise. You hit a fist into your palm as if remembering something, which you did.

"That's right!" You exclaimed, the four boy's sweat dropping. "The name's Aurthor, and that grouchy pooch." You said pointing at the still glaring dog. "Is my companion Carter. So again." You leaned towards the four boys. "Your names?" You raised an eyebrow.

"Leorio." The old guy said.

"I'm Kurapika, nice to meet you." The blonde said.

"Hi, I'm Gon." The black haired boy said with a smile.

"..I'm Killua, how old are you?" The white haired boy asked.

"Me? I'm 17." You stated, all four nearly fell over in shock.

"W-What!?" Liorio exclaimed.

"Yup." You said with a normal smile.

"You don't... look 17." Kurapeeko said with a nervous smile and sweat drop.

"I get that a lot."

"So why do you use a long board?" Killon asked.

"I like to have more room, this board is meant for all terrain, and works on water." You exclaimed like it was nothing, Kirron gawked at the board in amazement.

"That. Is. AWESOME! Where can I get one?!" He asked his eyes sparkling. You chuckled nervously and scratched the back of your head.

"Actually a friend of mine designed it. He was the one who created the board, but after this one he decided to do something different. This is the only one of it's kind. Although I have tinkered with it a bit." You said. Gin seemed like he wanted to say something, but a bark cut him off.

Looking down at Carter, who rejoined your side, she gave you a grunt and huffed in front of her. "Stairs eh? Ugh now I have to get off." You mumbled sadly and started moving to the back of your long board, careful of the hidden switch. Once near the back you jumped on the back's edge, making the long board jump into the air slightly, and grabbed it as you bolted into a casual run next to the other four.

"THAT WAS SO COOL!"Jon yelled happily.

"Eh? That was nothing June, I could have done something better." You smiled as the four sweat dropped once more.

"J-June?" June asked in disbelieve. "I-It's actually Gon." Gon corrected making you look at him in surprise.

"Oh! Sorry Gon, I forget things easily, especially names if I don't say them enough to remember them." Gun smiled.

"It's okay Aurthor, remember it's Gon. G-O-N."

"Gon, Gon, Gon, Gon, Gon." You mumbled to yourself as you stared intently at Gon. The others sweatdropped again at the weird action. Carter barked lowly catching your attention and looking forward, now noticing the stairs. Now running on the stairs you looked over to Lorion and Kiropuka. "Hey Lorron, Kiropeeko how old are you two?" You asked as the Kiropeeko sweat dropped and Lorron gained a tick mark.

"HEY IT'S LEORIO! NOT LORRON!!" Leorio yelled at you.

"A-And I'm Kurapika." Your eyes widened as you stared at Kurapika intently.

"Kurapika, Kurapika, Kurapika, Kurapika, Kurapika." You smirked slightly. "Okay, sorry about that Kurapika." You then looked over to Liorio. "Liorio, Liorio, Liorio, Liorio, Liorio, Liorio. Okay, got it Liorio and Kurapika-"

"IT'S LEORIO!"

"How old are you two?" You asked, ignoring Liorio's yelling.

"I'm 17." Kurapika said with a gentle smile.

"Hey cool, you're the same age as me! And you Li-Leorio?" You corrected yourself noticing the taller males glare.

"I'm 19." He grumbled making the other four look at him in surprise.

"No way!"

"Really?"

"It's not true!"

"SHUT UP!" Leorio yelled. You chuckled nervously before looking at Gon and...... Krillon.

"What about you Gon, Kri-"

"Killua."

"K-Killua. Killua, Killua, Killua, Killua, Killua." You mumbled, not knowing Gon was talking.

"Same here." Killua said making you blink confused.

"What?"

"Same here, I'm the same age as Gon." You stared blankly at him making him sigh and face palm. "I'm 12."

"Oh, Heheh. Seems I'm as short as a couple of 12 year old." You chuckled lightly and looked to Carter. "I guess this makes me the fun one since I'm fun sized." She rolled her eyes, panting lightly, and shook her head. "Carter? Are you getting tired?" You asked with a smirk. Her head drooped a little, but ended up nodding slightly. "Okay." You said twisting your backpack around and sticking your long board on the buckles. After that you opened your arms wide. "Carter jump." You commanded and she jumped into your arms. The others sweat dropped, but ignored it.

~Timeskip~

"It smells like that speakeasy back in that one town, right?" You asked Carter as she sat next to you, your long board once more in your hands. Carter nodded in agreement as the door closed behind you.

"Wait! Don't leave me!" A voice yelled out, but you ignored it. Deciding to ignore the man you turned your music up once more, now unable to hear anything except for the music playing in your ears. After a while everyone turned their heads making you look over and see another guy with a man faced ape in his hands. 'Obviously a trap' You thought and ignored it.

Soon the guy fell over while Saddle was holding 3 cards in his hands. You looked to Carter as she stared at Saturn intently. "You have his scent right?" You asked the young dog. She nodded in response. "Good." You mumbled, "Make sure to activate your Nen, the animals here are dangerous." She nodded once more.

Saturn staring to... walk off once more so you put your skateboard down, enticing the looks of the other four, Carter walked forward slightly then turned to look at you. "Carter, fetch." You said and clicked the front hidden button. A hidden rope with a mouth piece shot out, surprising the other four, Carter instantly barked happily and grabbed it into her mouth. "Let's go." You said and she bolted through the swamp, her Nen sending off a bloodthirsty aura.

The four watched in amazement and slight fear as the boy and dog bolted through the swamp, a feeling of blood lust emanating off the two.

Phase 2

"Good girl Carter, how's about a small snack?" You asked as you sat on the grass, your long board sitting next to you holding your backpack. Carter barked happily and wagged her tail, a smile on her. "Okay." You said opening your backpack and digging through it, pushing different contents out of the way. "Hey." You said pulling out a familiar orange can. "Set that aside and... Here." You said pulling out a bag of jerky. Opening the bag you pulled out a piece. "And he is your deer dragon jerky." You said holding the piece of animal meat to Carter who gobbled the piece and laid down her tail wagging.

"My my if it isn't a familiar face." A calm and pedophilish voice said making you look up to a certain joker.

"Ah Kuraki, I was wondering when you would talk to me. Doing good I presume?" You said as Carter lowly growl at him and grabbed the bottle of orange soda. He chuckled darkly and sat a certain suited male onto the tree next to you.

"I just came to drop this one off, do watch for his friends." He said then glanced at you. "I also can't wait for a taste of your.... skills." He said the last word seductively. You chuckled darkly as you started to toss the can in the air, it spinning before you caught it, and tossed it again.

"Maybe, but remember to control yourself, one wrong move here and you could get disqualified again." You said and leaned back onto the tree. "Now shoo, I'm listening to music." You said shooing Kiruka away. He chuckled.

"Fine, and it's Hisoka." Hisoka said as he walked off.

You eye rolled and opened your backpack once more. Carter looked to you in confusion and tilted her head to the side. "I'm giving him a mixture of Aloe and that plant we found in the Shariah Desert, it should help him wake up." You said crushing the plants into your hands until it made a lotion of sorts. You smeared it on Leorio's face and wiped the rest on the dirt below you.

A gasp made you glance over to the suited man as you zipped your backpack up once more. You took out your Ipod, deciding to pick a new song, and decided on a slow song. Your stomach surged slightly in hunger. Setting the orange soda down you reached into your backpack for a different type of meat and taking your time to eat it.

"Leorio!" A voice rang out, but ignoring it you kept an eye on Sam as he walked off into the woods. "Aurthor?"

"Don't bother him he was here when I woke up." Leorio said.

"Oh... Hey Leorio what's that blue stuff on your face?" Killua asked.

"Blue stuff?" A poke on your left made you look over to Gon now ignoring the other three.

"What's that?" He asked pointing to the piece of meat in your hand. You swallowed what you were eating.

"Food." You said gaining the attention of Killua.

"What's wrong with that food?" He asked in slight disgust at the meats oddly blue color.

"It's from the animal I got it from, it turns this color once it's done cooking, but it takes a lot of skill to get it this perfect." You said about to take another bite until you noticed the look on Gons face and held it out to him. "Want to try?" His eyes widened as he gently took the piece of cooked meat.

"Hey. Gon, you're not serious are you?" Killua asked Gon. Gon looked to him, most likely giving him a reassuring smile, then took a bite of the meat. He chewed the meat slowly, obviously savoring the taste, before finally swallowing and gave the largest smile.

"Delicious~!!" He exclaimed in excitement gaining a smile from you as Killua tried to understand why. You chuckled lightly as they continued to argue over the food. "But it's not mine!" Gon said as he leaned back away from Killua.

"You can have it." You stated making the two boys stop in their tracks.

"Really?" Gon asked as Killua lunged for the food, this time grabbing it, and somehow managing to kick the orange soda into the forest, now forgotten. Not like it already was.

"Yup, besides the next phase is starting." You said pointing towards the giant doors gaining the four boys attention, the meat sticking out of Killua's mouth. The doors then opened.

"Are you going to just stand their or come in?" A voice asked making everyone make their way into the door. You zipped up your backpack and put it on as you got up and made your way through the door, Carter by your side.

"Welcome." A girl with green hair tied up to look like a star said. She wore a fishnet crop top showing her black bra, denim booty shorts, and dark red heels the ran up her leg with little bows. 'Who's she?' You thought. "I'm Menchi, the second phase examiner." 'Oh'.

"And I'm Buhara, the other examiner." A larger man said next to Muchi. He wore a normal yellow longsleeve T-shirt that didn't even cover his large stomach and green pants. He wasn't even wearing any shoes. A loud rumbling growl echoed throughout the area.

"What was that?!" A contestant asked in shock and Muchi looked over to Burana.

"Hungry?" She asked.

"Starving." She chuckled.

"There you go, this is the second exam... Cooking!" She exclaimed groans and complaints rang out through the many contestants. Mucha stood up, a tick mark visible, as she yells. "That's quite right. Your challenged for the Second Phase, is to produce a dish that will satisfy our palate." 'Okay, that's simple.' You thought to yourself.

"Why do we have to cook?!" A rather fat man yelled in exasperation.

"That's because we are Gourmet Hunters." She counters. This causes all contestants, except for a few, to burst into laughter. You face palmed and shook your head.

"Man what a letdown.."

"They're Gourmet Hunters."

Meecha seemed to be fuming now, until the fat guy from earlier took her attention. "So, Gourmet Hunters, what are we to make?" Meecha glanced at Bunana not saying anything. Bunana sighed before looking at the contestants.

"The required ingredient is pork. And you only pass if we both find it delicious." He explained.

"Pork?"

"..As in pig meat?"

"No, pork as in chicken meat." You said loud enough for whoever asked that stupid question to hear. Many people snickered, but the guy just glared at you as you shrugged in response and looked back up to Meechu.

"You're free to use meat from any species of Biska Forest pigs. You must use the cooking facilities here to prepare the pork." Banana explained, a smile on his face.

"And we will evaluate more than just the taste. Don't underestimate the intricacies of cooking. Got it? When we've both eaten out fill, the exam will end." Meechu explained, a ghost of a smile on her face as well.

"We get it, we get it. Let's just start." The fat guy said making you sigh in annoyance. Muchu seemed to do the same.

"Then, the exam's Second Phase-" Banana started and smacked his stomach giving a gong like sound. "-begins now." And everyone bolted towards the woods.

You on the other hand stood there, waiting for everyone to leave, and once everyone was gone you looked towards Muchu and Banana. Muchu raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to go get your pig?" She asked.

"I would first like to say it is an honor to cook for you, Muchu-san, Banana-san." You said with a smile. Muchu gained a tick mark while Banana sweat dropped.

"It's Menchi and Buhara." Menchi corrected.

"Oh!" You exclaimed and scratched the back of your neck. "Sorry, I'm quite forgetful. I also wanted to put my stuff down, is over here good?" You asked pointing at a random station.

"Sure, sure." Menchu stated waving a hand off.

"Okay." You said setting your stuff down and putting your Ipod and your 'Animal's' journal into your pocket. "Carter, stay and guard. Okay?" You told Carter who sat and barked once. "Good girl." You pat her head and headed off. "Thank you Menchu-san!"

"IT'S MENCHI!"

"Now let's see, the only Pig in this forest is..." You trailed off looking through your book and stopping at a large snouted pig. "This one, the Great Stamp. It's weak spot is.... it's forehead." You mumbled to yourself. "A pistol should be good then." You mumbled to yourself and headed your way to where the pigs would be.

You soon found a group of pigs and saw one a ways away from the group. Not noticing the four pairs of eyes watching you in interest as you took a fairly large rock and chucked it like a bullet at that one. It missed it's forehead but gained its attention as it glared at you and walked over to you, the rest ignoring it. 'Perfect' You thought and quickly pulled out your Ipod and instantly picked out the perfect song.

Allowing your Nen to form you pulled your hand up, your Nen forming a small pistol, and spun the pistol in your hand before pointing it at the now charging pig. You could feel your Nen bouncing to the rhythm of the music, but ignored it. Waiting a bit you studied the pig's movement and just before it was on top of you you jumped up and fired. A loud bang echoing throughout the forest, making the other pigs look over to you as you landed gently. The now dead pig skidding to a stop behind you.

"Okay. Got.... it...." You trailed off now noticing the group of four boys staring at you. You made you Nen disappear, making the pistol disappear as well, as you waved towards the four. You noticed the pigs staring at them as they started to run at them and pointed towards the pigs making the four notice them and bolt away from the pigs. You chuckled as you picked up the pig and made your way back to the stations.

"There we go." You said setting the pig down next to your station. Carter's tail was wagging happily as she barked. "Now how to cook it?" You thought as you pulled out your journal and looked at it. "Ah-ha! This sounds good." You decided and put your journal back as you took two knifes from the knife block. You instantly cut through the pig, getting the good meat, before setting the knifes on a towel and pulled out a cutting board. Menchi watched in interest while Buhara watched the other contestants run in with their pigs.

After cutting the pigs meat into certain portions and letting it cook, you washed your hands before pulling out some onions and started to cut it as well and mix up some spices. Once the pork was done you took the pan off and sat another pan in its place pouring some olive oil in before putting the onions on and quickly cutting the semi cooked pork even thinner and setting it into the new pan. Lastly you put the spices in, mixed it, and put it on a plate topping it with sliced green onions for design, and did the same for another plate.

Once you were done you grabbed the plates and turned around just in time to see Gon and Killua staring at your dish, mouths watering. "There's extra on the counter." Was all you said before going between them and up to Munchi. "Please rate my dish Muncha-san, Bulama-san." You said putting two dishes down and bowing.

"It's Menchi and Buhara." Menchi grumbled before staring at the dish. Buhara instantly ate all that was on the dish before pausing.

"So good.." He mumbled and held up a sign with a blue circle. Menchi looked over at him then at the dish before taking a bite. As soon as the meat entered her mouth her eyes widened in amazement and she ate the rest of the dish instantly. She sighed happily before looking at you.

"That was very good. You pass." She said holding up the same sign as Buhara. "It was a perfect blend of spices, with great proportions of meat, that made you want to eat it." She said then leaned over the table. "How did you do it?" She asked as you chuckled nervously ignoring the many glares behind you.

"Well when you have been travelling as much as I have you meet some good cooks, and quite a few Gourmet Hunters." You stated. Menchi nodded in understanding before standing up.

"It seems everyone, except for 7, has failed!" She stated gaining every ones attention, even the two boys stuffing their face full of pork.

"It's over?"

"Are you serious!?"

"That's not fair!"

The candidates started to argue as you inched your way back to your station. You decided to ignore the arguing as you took a fork and decided to try your cooking. A table broke and you frowned at the meat. "Damn it." You mumbled gaining the two boys attention.

"What?" They both asked.

"I put too little sauce on it." You sighed unhappily the two gawked at you.

"What!?"

"No you didn't!"

"It's really good!"

"Not good DELICIOUS!"

The two tried to make you see the light making you chuckle.

CRASH!

You looked over to see the fat guy from earlier fall from the giant cement wall in a sad heap.

"Buhara, don't interfere." You heard a dark voice say.

"Well... If I hadn't intervened, you'd have killed him, right?" Buhara commented looking down at Menchi.

"True.." She said standing up and explaining how Gourmet Hunters risk their lives for delicious foods and how they aren't weak. You on the other hand were looking at Kisokai. That joker was giving off blood lust as though it was candy. A nudge brought your attention down to Carter who was eyeballing the pork. You chuckled lightly and gave her the rest of the plate, earning pouts from both Gon and Killua.

Wind whipped past you making you look over at a giant dust cloud.

"W-Who's that geezer?" 

You smirked. "The Chairman of the Selection Committee. He's in charge of the Hunter Exam... Chairman Netero." You and Menchi seemed to say at the same time. You ignored the looks from Gon and Killua and the conversation between Menchi and Netero. Instead you thought of when you first met Netero. He appeared almost the same way, although it was the last phase and he ended up staying to watch the fights that were to ensue.

A tug made you look down at Gon as he pulled you towards the blimp that seemed to have landed and everyone was making their way towards it. 'Wonder what we're doing?'

It turned out you were now boiling eggs. Soon reaching Mt. Split-in-half, thanks to Netero's blimp, everyone soon listened to Menchi as she explained what they were doing and now was watching as she hung by the web. A slight breeze blew up her hair slightly and she dropped. Many gasps rang out, but you knew better, as you watched her grab an egg and continued falling. You stepped back slightly, Carter following suite, as a giant gust of wind blew up. Many candidates flew backwards and the others watched as Menchi appeared once more before flipping forward and landing.

"Now, I just need to boil the egg." She said holding the egg in one hand.

"Y-You must be joking. No reasonable person would jump down there..." The fat guy mumbled, slightly backing up.

"Let's GO!" Gon yelled happily, every person at the edge jumping off. You smiled and decided to do something slightly safer. You sat your backpack down and removed your long board from it, gaining attention from some of the others. "NOW!" You heard Gon shout and soon they all reappeared, eggs in their hands. They all landed, Gon and Killua walked over to you, clearly interested.

"What are you doing?" Killua asked as you strapped your right foot to the front of the long board with the built in foot buckles.

"Anyone else?" Menchi asked glancing at the others.

"Yes actually." You stated gaining every ones attention. Netero seemed to finally notice you and gave a knowing look as all the contestants with their eggs stared interested.

"Okay." You smiled then glanced at Carter.

"Carter stay and guard my bag." You said kicking the long board off, she nodded and sat next to it while everyone stared at you. "Bye." You waved and kicked off Ollie outing over the cliff. Everyone was now watching over the edge. "WOOHOO!!" You shouted the wheels rolling along the side and pulling out your Ipod picking out a new song your Nen surrounding you as a visualizer for the beat and a pair of aviators appearing over your eyes.

"GRAB THE WEB!" Someone shouted, but instead you missed it and jumped off the side of the cliff. 'Now!' You thought and hit the back hidden button. The jets on the bottom of the board blazing to life to slow your descent. You leaned forward and the jets on the back burst into life, stealing the life from the bottom ones, and you bolted forward.

You grabbed the top of a batch of eggs and leaned the board up. Hitting the side of the cliff you bolted up the cliff and instantly reached the top. Grabbing the corner of the cliff you turned off the jets and back flipped the board back onto the ground and held the egg bunch up just as a gust of wind exploded from the cavern as if it was a bunch of fireworks. All the other candidates just stared at you, jaws dropped. You blinked in confusion.

"Too much?"

"Mmmmm, these are delicious!" Killua said happily as he ate the boiled egg. "I still can't believe you used the rest of your eggs for those chickens." He said pointing towards all the failures, each eating their own eggs.

"Hey, at least he still has a few left." Gon countered, defending you. You took another bite of your egg before taking off the shell and giving the last half to Carter.

"I thought it was unfair for them to be left out on eating, so I let them have the eggs." You said with a shrug moving the long board slightly on your shoulder.

"You also have to let me use your board one day." Killua exclaimed some egg going everywhere. You chuckled lightly.

"Maybe." 

"Aurthor-kun, if it hasn't been a while." A calm old voice said making you turn around.

"Long time? I don't believe so." You said holding a hand out to Netero. He grabbed your hand and shook it. "I also see you have a new companion." He said looking to Carter who just stared at him.

"Yup this is Carter." You said setting your hand on her head instead.

"Hmmmm. Clever dog I see. Loyal too. Welp, see you in the next phase." You nodded as Netero walked off.

"You know the old man?" Killua asked gaining your attention.

"Yup I've known him since the first time I took the exam."

"How many times have you taken the exam?" Gon asked curiously. you hummed as you put a hand to your chin in thought.

"This is my... 4th... no 5th time." You mumbled slightly to yourself.

"Eehh, you've failed this exam 4 times?" Killua asked in disbelieve.

"That's not as bad as Tonpa who failed 34 times." Gon stated catching your attention.

"Fail? I never failed the exam." You said catching the two boys attentions.

"WHAT!?" They yelled in unision.

"Please make your way towards the blimp!" A familiar green bean said. Everyone started making their way towards the blimp.

"Well let's go." You said ignoring the two boys as they tried to get you to explain. Carter seemed to sigh as she shook her head and followed you and the two annoying boys.

On the Blimp

You decided to skip the small meeting of congrats and decided to train instead. You sat in the very back room Carter next to you as you munched on a candy bar. Finally finishing it you stopped your music in your headphones and took them off. You rubbed your ears as they got used to the normal sounds of the room. "Eehh, I should probably take my headphones off more often." You mumbled then looked over at Carter. You both blinked before you burst into laughter Carter barking as if laughing herself. You wiped a tear from your cheek as your laughter died down. "Now, time to train." You clapped your hands together as you set your headphones on your backpack which was laying on top of your long board.

"Now then, lets put on a song for evasion eh?" You asked looking at Carter, she barked and shook her head, the speaker in her collar turning on. You took your Ipod from your pocket and set a song. "Press play when I say." You said setting the Ipod screen up next to Carter. She barked in understanding and you went to the middle of the room. "Okay now." She nodded and set her nose on the play button her collar exploding with music.

As the music started up you closed your eyes and allowed your Nen to form around you and lifting off the ground slightly as what looked like the bottom of a DDR floor appeared. Carter's doing the same as well as the floor. You moved back and forth quickly in step with the music, the floor changing as the arrows with each shape. As soon as the singer started strong you started doing flips, hand springs, and jumping from the walls to the ceiling and back to the floor. When the beat picked up slightly you looked towards Carter who gave a nod in understanding and jumped at you. You easily dodged her attack, still jumping from spot to spot with the beat.

The beat slowed slightly as you both stood there staring at each other, waiting for each others next move. When the beat slowed even more and the singer said the chorus the two of you jumped at each other then dodged and jumped from spot to spot. This continued until the beat picked up and you both picked up speed as well now just blurs to anyone who entered.

The beat slowed once more, but you kept dodging Carters attacks and soon the beat slowed even more. You both stood at a draw and circled each other. She attacked once more and you continued to dodge. This went on until the end of the song where you ended it with a triple back hand spring. You both stared at each other for a couple of seconds before smirking at each other.

"Okay. How about attacking then?" You asked Carter huffed but barked in agreement. "Okay, you find the song then, I'll get the equipment." You said and dug into your back pack for a pack of playing cards. "Hmm, kinda wish Hasuke was here with his bungee gum thingy. Oh well." You muttered before sharpening the cards yourself and throwing them into the walls, ceiling, and floor. Carter barked to signify she was ready and you nodded in response. "Okay I made sure none of the cards are near you so you should be fine just stay laying down." Carter barked in response and laid down.

You stood in the middle of the room and gave her a nod, she nodded in response before clicking play on the Ipod.

The song as you allowed your Nen to form. You could feel the familiar machine gun. You opened your eyes and started your normal routine. You shot all the cards easily then changed with a sniper rifle and did the same thing. You did this a couple of times until you got tired of listening to the song. You let your Nen disappear as the song ended for the fifth time. The cards that were stuck in the wall suddenly dropped instantly and you walked around picking them up.

"Okay, how abo-"

"We can play in- Oh Aurthor-kun." A voice interrupted you. Looking over you noticed it was Netero, Gon, and Killua.

"Oh hello. Did you want to train?" You asked about to pick up your stuff.

"Oh actually we were about to play a game." You perked at this.

"A game? Mind if I join?" You asked.

"Sure I don't see why not."

"Yaaayy Aurthor's playing as well!" Gon shouted happily as he ran in with a smile.

"Do the rules apply to him?" Killua asked pointing at you. This made Netero pause and think then shook his head no.

"Actually you can play against him as well." He stated making the two look at Netero in surprise. You scratched the back of your head and chuckled nervously. Gon looked at you, stars in his eyes.

"Does that mean your as strong as Netero-san?" He asked happily, whereas Killua seemed to be looking at you in disbelieve.

"I-I wouldn't say.. 'as strong', but I'm still pretty strong." Carter barked a couple times before gaining a cheshire like smile making you glare at her. "HEY! That guy jumped me! Had I not have been trying to get that stupid Hibiscus animal not only would I have dodged his attack, beat him, but I would have gotten more info on it!" You retorted gaining sweatdrops from the others.

"You know." Killua said in a slight dark voice making everyone turn to him. "This is your 5th time taking the Hunter Exam, right?" He asked pointing at you.

"Yeah." You responded nonchalantly.

"And you passed every other time, right?" You nodded this time. "Then how come you can take it again?" He finished. Gon's eyes widened in realization before looking at you as well.

"Aurthor-kun has 'special' privileges." Netero said before you could respond. Killua looked at him in confusion.

"'Special privileges'?" He asked an eyebrow raised. Netero nodded.

"Aurthor is one of the many hunters who go to uncharted lands and records information of different plants, animals, and even people of those islands. The only reason he is allowed to enter the Hunter Exam again and again after loosing, or selling his license-" You chuckled nervously and scratched the back of your neck as you sweat dropped. "-Is because he makes quite a compelling offer."

"What did you offer?" Gon asked you. You smiled.

"I give all of my findings to the Hunter Association, along with 2 million jenny every year, and be an examiner.... If I keep my license long enough to be asked though." You mumbled the last part to yourself.

"How strong are you?" Killua asked. You looked over to him, seeing the challenge in his eyes, you smiled as you used Gyo. 'He can't use Nen yet, I guess I'll go easy'.

"Okay, how about a one on one vs. me, then I go against you Gon." You suggested, Gon smiled and nodded with an 'okay' before going over and sitting near Carter, who growled slightly before huffing in annoyance, and Netero going and sitting next to Gon intending to watch as well. Carter barked over at you, making you look at her as she set a paw on the Ipod, you shook your head 'no' and she seemed to frown before laying down fully.

You walked to the middle of the room and stood there casually. Killua started walking to the side, circling you. Using Gyo you followed him as you watched him us an Assassins technique. 'Is he from an Assassin family? Interesting' You thought as you continued to watch him. After a couple of minutes of him circling you he-

"OH!" A voice yelled causing Killua to stumble, loosing his rhythm and all his other selves. He gained a tick mark and glared over to the other two males, Netero side glancing at Gon, who had a fist in his hand as if he had a revelation.

"Netero-san." He said looking to Netero. "Do we have to beat Aurthor? Or something else?" He asked making Netero put a hand to his chin. Killua, however, stomped over to Gon.

"GON! I was just about to start!" He yelled at the black haired boy who just sweat dropped as he raised his hands in defense.

"B-But, wouldn't it be better to know the rules?" He countered. Killua closed his eyes in annoyance as he raised a shaking fist and hit Gon upside the head.

"IDIOT! If-"

"Actually." Netero interrupted Killua's ranting. "Here Aurthor-kun." He said tossing a volleyball, you caught it after it bounced in your hands a bit, and looked over at Netero for an explanation. "You must grab that ball from him to pass."

"Eh!?" Both Gon and Killua exclaimed in surprise, while you just blinked in surprise. You smiled as you spun the ball and lifted it on your finger.

"That doesn't sound to hard. At least now I know what to do exactly." You said to yourself staring at the spinning ball. Your gaze never leaving the spinning ball, but was using En, knowing Killua was going to try for a sneak attack.

And you were right. Not 5 seconds later he attempted to charge at you, which you simply moved over, he instantly put his foot to the floor and twisted in his spot, attempting a kick to your leg. You simply did a back flip, grabbing the ball in the process, and appeared behind him holding the ball with a smile. He kicked off once more reaching for the ball, you simply moved over and did a backhand spring towards the wall. Killua smirked, thinking he cornered you, and lunged at you. You waited till the last second and pushed yourself off the wall before sliding under Killua's flying form. He landed on the wall with a loud SMACK making you put a hand to your mouth before you burst into laughter.

He slid down the wall slightly before getting up, his hands curling into fists, before grabbing his face in pain. "OWW!!" He screeched.

"Killua tag! tag!" Gon yelled from across the room holding his hand out. Killua glared at Gon, a giant red spot on his forehead.

"NO! If I tag you then you'll have a turn then we can't fight him after your turn." Killua fumed. You chuckled making him look over to you.

"Okay, how about this." You said pointing a finger up. "I will fight you both for 3 turns, then one final turn with you both attacking me?" You suggested then quickly suggested. "But I get to play a song for the final turn." You said holding the ball out. Killua stared at you for a bit, wondering how this would be unfair in some way, but smirked instead.

"Okay, but I want to keep going for a bit Gon!" He said, Gon pouted slightly before nodding in agreement. Killua glanced at your smiling figure, slightly getting pissed, before making a lunge after the ball once more. You continued to dodge Killua doing backflips, handsprings, and sliding under the boy or jumping over him. Sometimes you would switch hands or hold the ball with your foot as you dodged him on your hands, which really pissed him off. This continued for roughly 30 minutes before Killua finally switched with Gon.

"Yes." Gon said before doing some stretches. He stood once more before flexing his fists slightly then got into position, but you didn't notice as you were in slight thought over whether should stretch a bit or not. Gon sweat dropped, but then pushed himself forward like a bullet.

Your En notified you of his approach and your eyes instantly looked to Gon just as he pushed himself to the side. You watched and slightly turned as he ricocheted himself from side to side. 'He isn't as dumb as he looks, not that he's dumb, but trying to confuse and make the person dizzy is a good tactic' You smiled, slightly proud, at the boys tactic, but knew it wouldn't work against you.

Finally he bolted at you, you got ready to start dodging. That is, until he jumped at the last second, and smacked his head on the ceiling. Your eyes were wide as Killua yelled at him to watch his power. You blinked in surprise before giving a loud laugh, gaining Gon's attention. "Th-That HAHAH That w-was HAHAHAH pricele-less!" You said stuttering through your laughter before finally calming down and wiping a tear from your face. Gon seemed to be waiting for you to finish before he finally charged once more. The entire time a large smile adorned your face as you dodged Gon's attempts. 'He's super uncoordinated, but with some training he would make a powerful oponent' You thought as you dodged him once more.

~Time Skip~

The two switched every 15 to 30 minutes until it was finally time for the two to attack simultaneously. Killua was smirking seeming to know how to beat you, but oh was he in for a surprise. "Right! Let's-"

"Hold on." You said cutting the white haired boy off. He seemed as if he was about to say something until you reminded him, "I get to pick a song to play this round. This one is only going to last for about a couple of minutes, I need some sleep after all." You said with a small smile as you walked over to Carter. Killua grumbled in annoyance as you picked up your Ipod and decided to pick an upbeat song. "This one or this one?" You asked Carter who was watching you. She tilted her head slightly before lifting her foot, as if to shake her paw, and scratching the floor twice. "Okay." You said and picked the song. "Play when I say." You said, she barked in response as you stood in the middle of the room, your Nen glowing around you, and you looked at the two boys in front of you the ball in your head. "Ready?" You asked the two and they got in an attacking position as they nodded. You glanced over to Carter. "Go!"

Just as the song started up the two bolted after you, but the music seemed to already be affecting you as a pair of DJ headphones appeared on your head. Netero leaned forward slightly, interested, as you instantly dodged the two's attacks. As the beat started to pick up the two boys noticed a bright light appearing under your feet every time they hit the floor. This caused the two to not notice you instantly jump over the two until you were over them and land just as the beat picked up even more. The three watched in amazement as the floo-no ROOM change into a dance floor. You instantly seemed to get faster as you backed away, every step causing the floor to give a circle of color before disappearing every 5 blocks.

It even seemed to affect Carter who's paws were on top of a DJ's stand, seeming to control the music which seemed to be bellowing out of the two giant speakers, making the music slightly louder. Netero stroked his beard in amazement as he watched you 3 jump around, Gon and Killua attempting to grab the ball from the now faster you. What the two didn't notice was your footwork, one of your flaws. You always moved to the beat, no matter what, and if they knew that it would be your downfall, but they seemed too busy with trying to grab the ball from your hand.

Too soon for the boys liking the song ended. You abruptly stopped, the two crashing into the wall once more, and you allowed your Nen to disappear. The room turned back to normal and the headphones disappeared, along with the DJ stand and giant speakers.

"OOWWW. OW OW OW OW OW!!" The two boys chorused holding their foreheads. You yawned loudly as you made your way towards Netero and Carter, who was yawning as well.

"Okay, time's up. Where are the resting rooms?" You asked Netero tossing him the ball.

"WHAT!?" Killua suddenly shouted as you picked up your backpack. You looked at the boy as he pointed at you with a tick mark. "You can't leave! We were so close!" He yelled clearly annoyed. You chuckled lightly as you put the backpack on on shoulder, Carter getting up ready to head to bed herself.

"Sorry Killua, maybe another time. You're good now, but train a bit more." You said with a small smile before starting to walk off.

"Wait!" You stopped at the door and turned to look at Gon and his curious filled eyes. "How did you make the room change?" He asked innocently. You hummed in thought before giving a mischevious smile.

"It's~ a~ se~ cret~." You sung then walked off laughing at Gons confused face and Killua's pissed off look. "Night." You said over your shoulder and made your way towards the resting rooms, Carter by your side. After walking for a couple of minutes you stopped abruptly, Carter stopping and glancing at you curiously. "I didn't get an answer to where the rooms were."

3rd phase

You yawned tiredly as you stood atop Trick tower. Carter was already laying back down for a quick cat nap as you waited.

"What is this place?"

"There's nothing here!"

"Ahem... Everyone, the exam's Third Phase will begin here, at the top of trick tower." Lean said gaining everyone's attention. You tiredly looked over to him.

"Trick Tower?" A candidate asked.

"No he meant the Eiffel Tower." You retorted earning a couple of snickers and a glare.

"That's it, you mocked me once and I let it slide, I won't let you do it again!" The man glaring yelled and charged at you. You glanced at the guy as Carter got up instantly and started growling. You stuck a hand out to stop her. The guy tried to throw a punch, but you instantly grabbed his arm and threw him over your shoulder and off the edge of the tower. The screams of the man echoed through air before he suddenly stopped. You scowled slightly and looked to the other candidates.

"Don't try that at home kids." Was all you said before Learn got everyone's attention with a slight cough.

"To pass this place, you must reach the tower's base alive. The time limit is seventy-two hours. With that, we will now begin the Third Phase. I will pray for your success." He said then turned and entered the Blimp. It then lifted up leaving everyone to wonder what to do now.

You walked around for a bit, knowing how to get down, but wondering how to get both you and Carter down the same hole. One by one people started disappearing, one guy even tried to climb down, but it was in vain as he was eating by a six legged flying beast. Then an idea struck you. You looked to see if anyone was watching as you walked over to a trap door. You opened the door with your hands and held it with Nen. "Go." You whispered to Carter and she jumped down with you following instantly.

"Welcome to-EH! Aurthor-kun!?" A voice said cutting through your music, turning it down you smirked slightly.

"If it isn't Locco-"

"Lippo."

"-Lippo-san. How have you been?" You asked. Some grumbling was heard before a sigh.

"Whatever, welcome to Trick Tower. In this maze you will go through majority rule. Meaning you must wait for some other party members."

"Okay, easy enough." You said grabbing the watch and putting it on then shrugged as you sat on against a wall, Carter laying down next to you. "I'll take a nap then." You yawned to yourself as you stretched slightly. Turning up your music you closed your eyes and started to drift.

~Time Skip~

"Well that farewell was quite short lived." A voice said making your ears perk.

"Where are we?" Another asked. 'They sound familiar.'

"Hey look." Another said. "'The five of you must follow the will of majority to reach the goal.' Wait but their's only four of us." The voice finished.

"But there's only four watches here." The last voice spoke

"That's because another person's in here with us." The first voice said.

"Eh, Aurthor!?!"

"He looks asleep..... and somehow brought his dog." A poke made you even more aware of your surroundings.

"Killua! Don't poke him!" You smirked in response.

"So you guys did make it down here, and here I thought I would be stuck with a bunch of idiotic rookies." You said getting up with a stretch. You opened your eyes finally to see a freaked out Killua, a wide eyed Leorio, a smirking Kurapika, and a smiling Gon. "Majority Rules is this one. So, let's get going shall we?" You said to the group of four. They each nodded as you looked at the sign above the now shown door. "'First Decision: O to open the door, X to leave it closed'." I read and clicked the O button instantly.

Was shown under the questions and the door instantly opened. You continued on with Carter by your side, the rest following. After walking for a bit I stopped for the next door.

"'Next Decision: O to go Right, X to go Left'." You read and everyone clicked a button on their watch. The door revealed the answers.

[O-3, X-2]

"EH!? Why do you guys wanna go right?! You're supposed to go left!" Leorio complained looking at the others. You ignored him and continued on, the others following your lead.

"That's true, but studies have shown that people stuck at a fork in the road tend to go left." Kurapika told Leorio.

"I've heard about that study too!" Killua comments.

"Wait, which button did you guys pick?" Leorio asks in clear confusion.

"I chose right."

"Same."

"I chose to go left." Gon commented. You stayed silent, slightly humming to the music playing in your ears.

You and the others have been walking for what felt to be about 6 hours now, going through many doors. It was kind of peaceful, except for the fact that Leorio or Killua would complain about which way to go, hence the slightly tense silence between the four. You on the other hand were slightly humming to yourself, still leading the others with Carter at your side, every now and then you would mumble a verse or two.

But then a new song came on. It was a new song you had found a while back, and so far it was your favorite at the moment. You closed your eyes in bliss at the song, not noticing you singing it yourself.

You finished as the next song started, not noticing the once tense silence turn into awed, surprised silence from the others. Amazed at your calm and smooth voice.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, you entered an arena like area. Smirking, you knew what was coming, and walked up to the edge. Carter sat a little closer to the wall, but still managed to be by your side. On the other side stood 5 other people, or prisoners shall you say.

"Look." Killua motioned to the cloaked prisoners on the other side. You turned down your music.

"The applicants are here." A raspy voice said as he stood in front of the others. "Remove the handcuffs!" He yelled happily. A click was heard as the handcuffs were instantly released.

"Allow me to explain gentlemen... And Aurthor-kun." Loppo said with a slight growl at the end. The other's glanced at you but you ignored them as Luppo continued. "In front of you are some of this towers prisoner's. They will count as 'examiners', recognized as such by the Hunter Exam Committee. You will against the five of them as one on one battles. One person cannot fight twice, and the dog cannot fight in a match herself." You huffed in annoyance with a scowl. "There are no draws, and you only get a point when a winner is decided. This battle follows Majority Rules, and you must get 3 points to continue. Good luck." Lucko finished.

"Well, guess I'm first." The raspy voice said and threw off it's cloak to reveal a blue guy.

"Why are you blue? Did you suffocate to death then somehow revive yourself?" You asked randomly gaining sweat drops from the others and a tick mark from the blue guy.

"My name is Majitani. Who will be my opponent?" He asked with a smug grin.

"I'll go first." Kurapika said, everyone nodded at him, and he walked over to Makituni. The walkways disappeared as soon as he reached the arena and he continued walking until he was only a few feet in front of the tall blue man. The blue man then bursts into laughter as he stares Kurapika in the eyes.

"I've killed 19 people, and for every person I have a tattoo made." He says indicating towards the 19 hearts on his chest. "It's an uneven number which really bothers me. I'm so glad to meet you #20!" He says with another laugh. "I insist a death match! I want blood, I want gore!! But, don't expect me to stop if you surrender..." He says with a crazed smile.

"I understand, and I accept." Kurapika says cooly and throws his blue.... cape.. thing away. It lands nearby him with a soft Thud. That's when the guy seems slightly taken aback. "Let us begin then." Kurapika says getting out a pair of wooden swords chained together.

"Uh... A-Also, no weapons. We will fight with our fists." Makituna says as he starts sweating in nervousness. 'Chickenshit' I thought and walked backwards until my back hit the wall and leaned back onto it. 'Kurapika's got this' I thought and watched.

"Okay, I understand." Kurapika says and throws his swords over to his cape, which land on top of it, then looks at Mukituna. "Is there anything else before we start?" He asks. Mukitana pauses slightly, sweating as though he was in a sauna, and just stares at Kurapika. Then flexes his muscles.

"Hey, is Kurapika going to be okay?" You glance over to Leorio as he points at Mukatana. "This guy looks dangerous."

"There's no need to worry." Gon says, still staring at Kurapika's 'fight'. You decide to look back as well. "When I look at him, he doesn't scare me."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Leorio questions.

"Here I come!" Mikatana yells and charges at Kurapika. He suddenly jumps in the air and brings a fist down. Kurapika easily dodges by jumping back as Mekatuna's fist hit the ground, dust flying everywhere, but instantly settles. I tense slightly just as Kurapika gasps in shock. On his back is a tattoo with a twelve-legged spider.

"The Phantom Troupe." I mumble slightly not realizing I gave answered for Leorio. The others stare at me slightly freaked out as I unknowingly let out some blood lust, Carter starts growling dangerously at the Blue man blood lust coming from her as well making the others step back slightly.

I continue to stare at the spider until I realize something, my blood lust going down. "Carter." I order slightly, she stops and glances at me. "He's a fake." I say narrowing my eyes. She stares at me, slightly shocked, before backing down slightly loosing her blood lust, but still tense. Mikatuni laughs.

"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" He asks, flexing the fake tattoo. "I am Majitani, one of the Phantom Troupe's four kings! That first strike was just a greeting." He says raising a fist. "This is your last chance to sur-" But he didn't get to finish as Kurapika lifts his head, his eyes a blazing scarlet red. 'So he's from the Kurta clan' I note staring at his eyes.

"Eh, what's wrong with you!?" Majitoni screams in slight fear. His face is instantly smushed as Kurapika grabs him. "A-Ah! I get it, I get it! I sur-" But once more, he didn't get to finish as Kurapika punched him square in the jaw. Even I could feel Kurapika's pure rage and rubbed my jaw unconsciously. Gon and Leorio gasp on surprise as Killua whistles in amazement.

"Consider this a warning." Kurapika mumbles slightly as he straightens up. First, a real Phantom Troupe member has a number in the middle of their tattoo. Second, the spider doesn't bother counting how many they kill. Lastly, never mention the Troupe again, if you do." His voice darkens as he releases his own Blood lust. "I will kill you." He says then walks over to his stuff, picks it up, and walks stiffly back to us.

"Wow.." Leorio said awestruck.

"Are you okay Kurapika?" Gon asked him. Kurapika sighed slightly before putting his cape back on and hiding his swords once more.

"Yes, I am uninjured." He responded, eyes closed.

"Is it safe to be around you?" Leorio asked slightly backing up. Kurapika looked at him, his grey eyes back to normal.

"Yes, I knew from the moment I saw him he was weak, but when I saw the spider." He puts a hand over his eyes and rubs them. "Everything went red."

"You're not the only one." You say glancing over at Majutona. The gang glances over at you with a questioning, yet slightly shocked, look. Looking over to them you meet their curious gazes and shrug. "You're not the only one who has dealt with the Phantom Troupe before." After a couple of seconds Leorio sighs before gaining a smirk.

"Okay, now it's my turn!" Leorio yelled happily as he spun his arm in circles to stretch it. "Toss that other guy aside and we can begin!" He said now pointing to Mikatuna.

"I'm afraid we can't do that." A soft voice said from the other side.

"Eh? Why not?" He asked as he stopped in his tracks.

"We can't move him because the last fight is unsettled."

"What? Unsettled how?"

"He is unconscious, not dead."

"But he surrendered!"

"Actually Kurapika knocked him out before he could even say 'Surrender', nice punch by the way." You interrupted and gave Kurapika a thumbs up earning a sweat drop from Gon and Kurapika.

"Which means, the fight is still unfinished."

"Damnit." Leorio mumbles then looks to Kurapika. "Kurapika, go throw that guy off the edge so we can continue on."

"I see no need to do so." Kurapika stated before leaning against the wall inside the tunnel. You ignored Leorio's arguing as you stared at the blue guy laying on the floor intently.

~Time Skip~

Leorio had finally accepted the fact that he wasn't going to win and a couple of hours had passed. You didn't really notice as you continued to stare at the big blue guy. You thought you saw his breathing change at one point, but it instantly went back to normal.

You watched him, not hearing Leorio's compromise, nor paid attention to when he walked over to the bulky man. You did pay attention as he started shoving the Mujitina and Mujitana instantly explain how he was in fact awake. You then started to think about the change in his breathing.

'That was obviously when he woke up, but why did he act like he was still asleep? Did he have something on him? There's a possibility, or maybe he had something on him that allowed the others to talk to him. If that was the case then when did they give him the bug? And who was the one he talked too?...... When was the last time I actually ate...? Let's see, I ate at that restaurant before we started the Exam, then had that snack as we went down the elevator.... After that was the piece of meat before the Second Phase, but I gave the rest to Gon and Killua, after that was the Dream eggs, but I gave the rest to Carter afterwar-'

"AURTHOR!!!!" A voice yelled in your ear making you jolt in surprise and look at Killua who was glaring at you. Gon, Leorio, and Kurapika each looking at you expectantly.

"What?" You asked with a confused look as you tilted your head to the side. Killua sighed in exasperation.

"We were debating on who was going to go next." Killua said, you blinked in surprise.

"Wasn't Leorio just going?" You asked and he hit you upside the head.

"That was an hour ago! Leorio lost." He explained, you blinked once more before looking at the Arena and the score.

Was shown on the score board, and on the arena was a dead body, blood pooled around it. You pointed at the body and was about to ask before Killua cut you off.

"It was a match between me and a killer. I won obviously, now we are deciding who will fight next. Although now I feel as though Gon should have this fight since he was ACTUALLY paying attention and wasn't visiting La La Land!"

"What were you thinking about Aurthor? You seemed pretty deep in thought." Gon asks making you turn to him.

"I was thinking about food." Was all you said and everyone nearly fell over. "Although, if you agree with Killua then I don't mind, I know you can win." You said making him look at you in surprise.

"But, then it wouldn't be fair for you!" He countered making you blink in surprise. You put your hands on your hips and looked at him with a smile.

"Then how do you suppose we settle this?" You asked. He smirked in response.

"Rock-paper-scissors!" Everyone sweat dropped whereas you just shrugged.

"Okay." You said and walked up to him and got in position.

"First comes Rock!"

"Rock, paper, scissors!" You both said throwing your attacks. Tied.

"Tie! Go again!" Tied.

"Tie! Go again!" Tied.

"Tie! Go again!" This time you knew what he was going to throw and threw paper.

"EH!?" Gon said in surprise. You smiled and let your hand fall.

"Guess I win. Don't worry, this will only take a couple of minutes." You said putting your hands into your pockets, making sure your Ipod was in there. 'I think a game should make this quick'.

"Guess I can go now." A rough voice said and what looked to be a bulky guy made his way towards the arena. Once the light hit his face he instantly took off the brown cloak revealing a buzz-cutted black haired, green eyed man. His left eye had a cut over it, making his left eye useless, and he was adorned with many tattoo's that were messed up thanks to the many scars that were on top of them.

"I thought he was sentenced to death." Leorio said, fear showing in his voice.

"Who's that?" Gon asked as the prisoner walked forward, leaving slight dips in every step.

"Alexander the great. A crazed mass-murderer." Leorio said. "He was sentenced to death because of his attempt to kill the king of Konusha. A kingdom of great peace. Had he succeded he would have caused a civil war and riots to spread, but that's not all." Leorio continued as Allen stopped in front of you. "After his attempt to assassinate the king, he somehow escaped and ran all the way to Yorknew where there he killed thousands while the New Years parade was going on. Then afterwards he attempted the Mafia, but failed when he ran into a hunter. No one knows which hunter caught him though." Leorio finished.

"Your friends right, and unlike those wimps over there, I call for a death match. No surrenders." He smirked.

"Aurthor! Quit now, let Gon win the next match!" You heard Leorio and Kurapika yell.

"I accept." You said.

"Is he crazy!?" Leorio yelled and you held a finger up.

"But, I wish to have 10 seconds to pick a song, then we can play a game. A game that will determine who dies." You said with a smile. Aldrin smiled at this.

"Fine, I'll let your last minutes be with a game." He said crossing his arms. You bowed slightly before taking out your Ipod and picking the song. Your Nen surrounding you.

As the song started up you heard a chorus of gasps behind you as your blonde hair turned a glowing white, Adrien, however, just looked amused as your eyes turned white, glowing as well. You snapped your fingers and a table with a board game on it appeared. "This is a game of chance." You said, your voice echoing slightly. "Roll the dice and see what you get." You said holding out a pair of plain dice that had appeared in your hands.

"Okay." Andrew said taking the dice. He tossed them and let them roll. You and him both watched as the dice spun and bounced before slowing. The others were on the edge of their seats watching in anticipation. Finally the dice stopped.

"I see..." You said in a slightly disappointed tone. Andy looked at you confused slightly as you looked up to him. "You have chosen...." You appeared in front of him instantly. "Death by falling." You gave a wicked grin as you grabbed his neck and jumped high into the air, grabbing the ceiling to hold yourself up. He held your hand in a mixture of terror and struggle.

"Up there!" A voice from below said, but you ignored them, and held Andre close to your face.

"Seems I won't get to show off my better abilities." His eyes widened. "Bye~" You let him go.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" He screamed, the sound echoing throughout the room.

"Eh? He won't die at that falling rate." You smirked. "Guess I will have to help." You said and jumped off the ceiling, leaving a giant dip in the process, and bolted down. You raised your fist, your Nen surrounding the fist, enhancing it, and punched Anderson in the gut. This seemed to help as he bolted twice as fast down and instantly into the floor. The floor collapsed from the force of the punch and nearly destroyed the entire arena.

You did a small somersault and landed lightly on the now broken floor. The song finally ended, your Nen being released before the next song started, causing your hair and eyes changed back to their normal colors. You looked down to Abraham. He laid in a slight angle, a giant hole in the middle of his stomach where you had punched him. There he laid.... Dead.

You whistled in amazement. "Wow, I probably could've done better." You slightly frowned but looked up at the fear-ridden prisoners. "I win right?" You ask making them flinch violently.

"Y-Y-Yes." One of them meekly said. You eye rolled and looked over to your group. All of them, except Carter, were wide eyed. They took a slight step back and you sighed in annoyance.

"Guys, seriously? Killua grab my bag for me, let's get going." You said as the bridges came back. Killua nodded, not saying a word, grabbed your backpack and they all walked over to you, Carter in front of them already used to that song version of you. You took your bag and lead the group passing the prisoners as they cowered down. Entering a room you sat you bag against a wall, Carter going over and laying next to it, and you stretched your arms above your head hearing the satisfying 'Pops' in your back.

"This is where you will stay for all the hours you bet. Afterwards you will be allowed to continue on." Leppu said through the speakers.  Everyone nodded, but the others just kept their eyes on you as you decided to look around the room.

GROWWLL~

Was heard throughout the room, everyone jumped in surprise and looked towards you. Whereas you grabbed your stomach in surprise and chuckled nervously. "Sorry, I haven't eaten in a while, and using my power made me hungrier." You said and walked over to your backpack. Everyone was tense, and you knew it, considering everyone was just sitting around the table in silence. You pulled out two dog bowls, a bag, water bottle, and some jerky. Eating the jerky you poured some food and water for Carter, who inhaled her food, for her then looked to the four sitting boys. You sighed and sat in front of all of them, a frown adorning your face making all of them sweat in anticipation.

"Okay." You said glaring at them all, they seemed ready to attack you if you attacked. "What's with the 'We are totally scared of you and will attack at any slight movement' looks?" You asked looking between the four. "And you two." You said pointing towards Gon and Killua who tensed even more, Killua sharpened his nails. "You both have already seen my power, why are you two freaked out?" You asked gaining confused looks.

"..We've never seen you do THAT." Killua said pointing a sharp nail at you. You sighed with a face palm.

"Do you remember on the airship our last match?" You asked not moving your hand, Killua paused.

"That was different." He finally said.

"That's because my power depends on the music I listen to." The two cocked their heads in confusion. You sighed once more and looked at the two in annoyance. "Okay listen closely because I'm only going to say this ONCE!" You said holding a finger up. Everyone nodded in agreement and slightly leaned in. "I was born with this power where I can change different forms, change the surrounding area, and gain different powers depending on the music I listen to. I can control my changed form and the powers with it, but my personality slightly changes and it only lasts for the songs length." You slightly lied, not all of it was a lie, nor was all of it true.

"EH!? That actually sounds cool!" Gon said with a wide smile. Killua looked slightly distrusting, but he pretty much always looked like that with you, Kurapika seemed to be calculating, and Leorio was just staring at you in awe. You chuckled and gave a bright smile.

"It is pretty cool I guess." You said putting your index and thumb under your chin in contemplation. 'I never really thought of my Nen as cool, it just seemed apart of me' You thought to yourself as you started remembering all the times music had saved your life.

"AURTHOR!!" A voice yelled as a shoe was thrown at your face. It slowly fell off your face revealing your shocked face. Blinking in surprise you looked over to Killua, who had a tick mark as he closed his eyes in anger.

"Yes?" You asked looking to him. He sighed in annoyance before looking to you.

"When we were on the airship, and it was the last round, when the area changed that was your power?"

"Yup." You said popping the 'P'. He paused for a second, as if contemplating asking something. "And yes, before you ask, I am on your side. I never hurt any of my friends without reason." You said before eating the last of your jerky, allowing everyone to soak everything in.

"Hey Aurthor-kun." Gon said gaining your attention. You hummed in acknowledgement. "Is there any way your power can make a game?"

~Time Skip~

"Give. It. BACK!" You yelled at Carter. You and her were currently in a game of Tug-a-War with one of her most favored toys. You were playing with here for a bit until she started getting aggressive so you are trying to take the toy away. The problem is she knew you were taking it away and won't let go of it.

Everyone was currently doing their own thing at this time, considering it's only been about a day, Killua was teaching Gon how to do some trick on his skateboard. Kurapika was reading his 15th book as he sat on the floor the many books he had already read circling him, Leorio was scrounging through the fridge looking for something to drink.

"The trick is to do it without stopping, if you stop for even a second you'll seriously hurt yourself." Killua said as you pulled harder on the unbreakable toy. Carter even started using her Nen slightly, but you wouldn't do it, it's what she wants.

"Yes!" Gon said in excitement. You narrowed your eyes at Carter as she gave a slight smirk clearly readying an at-

THUMP

CRACK

"AAAUUUGGHGHH MY FUCKING HEAD!" You screeched as something hit the back of your head, hard. You grabbed your head in pain and slightly curled up.

"Aurthor!" Four voices yelled out in concern. Footsteps started running towards you but were stopped immediately because of Carter, her aura screamed 'Stay Back' as she growled in protectiveness. The toy now forgotten.

"Damn dog move!" Leorio yelled in annoyance, but Carter just continued to growl, her Nen started to form around her. 'Ow, ow, ow, ow, SHIT! What the fuck hit me?!?' You thought and started looking around. That's when you noticed the skateboard.

"Aurthor are you okay?" Gon asked making you turn around to the four others staring at you in concern as Carter stood in front of you protectively.

"Yeah, what just happened?" You asked slowly taking your hand off your head. Looking at your hand you sighed in relief that there wasn't any blood.

"S-Sorry Killua was teaching me how to do a trick and the skateboard slipped from under me and hit your head." Gon said scratching the back of his head nervously.

"Get your dog under control!" Killua suddenly shouted as Carter took a step towards the group.

"Carter." You said in a stern voice. She stopped her growling and turned towards you, her tail wagging, and her tongue sticking out. She barked in response and walked over to you then laid down in submission. "Good girl." You said petting her head and she gained her happy puppyness again as she got up and started barking at you to play. The others sweat dropped until Killua tried to grab his skateboard and Carter growled at him once more. He instantly backed up making you sigh in frustration. "Sorry Killua, once she gets like this she won't let anyone near me. He-" You paused as you picked up the skateboard. "Wow it's very light. I forgot this is the normal weight of skateboards." This comment seemed to throw everyone off.

"What do you mean?" Gon asked curiously. You handed Killua his skateboard then got your long board.

"This is what I mean, be ready." You said handing the long board to Gon, once you let go of it he nearly dropped it, until you instantly grabbed it. "I said be ready." Gon just stared at it as if it turned into a living creature.

"Heh, weak. Let me see it." Leorio said holding a hand out. You shrugged and held it out to him. You released it and he too instantly dropped it. You caught it before it dropped once more and sighed in annoyance whereas Leorio looked at it in surprise. "How much does this thing weigh!?! It feels as if you dropped a boulder on me!" He exclaimed as you set the poor thing back next to your backpack.

"It weighs..... 45..? Yeah 45kg." You said.

"EH!?" Both Gon and Leorio exclaimed. "Why?" Gon asked.

"Well with all the mechanics in it, plus the weight of those mechanics, and the added weight of the titanium made in the skateboard, and the wheels. Yeah, it kind of just added on to make it that much. My pack weighs about 5kg itself." You said indicating towards the small backpack.

"EH!?"

"So your carrying around 50kg everywhere?" Kurapika asked.

"Yup, but it's totally worth it in the end." You said sitting back on the floor. "Now, if you'll excuse me I am going to take a nap." You said with a yawn at the end. You laid onto the floor and Carter instantly laid next to you, her head on your stomach, and soon soft snoring was heard from the two of you. The others sweat dropped before going back to what they were doing before, careful not to do anything near you or the sleeping dog.

~Longer Time Skip~

"This will be the last decision made by majority rule. One path is long and difficult, with a 45 hour minimum, The second is short and easy, lasting only 3 minutes, but two people will have to be chained to the wall." Leorio read out loud. You and the gang were currently in the last room the walls were lined with weapons along with the two doors, in the middle of the doors was a statue of a woman trapped in the wall with spikes sticking out of her arms. Leorio glanced at the others with narrowed eyes. "What do we do?"

"Its simple." Killua says pulling a hand in front of himself. He manipulated his hands into claws making your look in curiosity. "I'll just say now." He said glaring at everyone except Gon. "I plan on Gon and I to pass this phase." You cross your arms and sigh in annoyance, Carter looks at you in anticipation.

"I guess we have no choice." Kurapika says pulling out his wooden swords.

"We can't fight! We made it here together, and we should make it out together!" Gon yelled in exasperation looking between everyone. By now Carter was getting into an attacking stance along with Kurapika and Killua. You frowned at everyone else and made your way to the many weapons on the wall. "EH!? Aurthor, not you too!" Gon said as everyone watched you walked over to an axe and stared at it. By now even Leorio pulled out a switch blade and was ready to attack.

"You know what I could really use right now?" You said making everyone tense as you furrowed your eyebrows. "A cup of coffee. I haven't had one in forever, man I wish I was back at the cafe." You sighed sadly, everyone else sweat dropped. You turned around and huffed. "Really guys? I mean we have known each other for what? A day? Two? Three... I don't exactly remember." You mumbled as everyone sweat dropped once more. "Anyways, we have known each other for only a few days and we are better friends then anyone else who has probably known each other for a year. I get there are some distrusts here, but wouldn't it be better to stay as friends?" You asked making everyone lower their weapons slightly as they thought about it. Gon on the other hand was smiling like a lunatic.

"Aurthor's right! If we think about it for a bit we can find a way through!" Gon said making you smile. Leorio frowned slightly before walking over to you. He reached a hand out.

"I'm sorry." He said as you watched him grab one of the axes. "But I'm going to pass!" He said and swung the axe. It happened slowly for you as you glanced over at the attacking man. You stared blankly as you moved over slightly. The axe instantly smashed into the ground, destroying the stone floor, Carter was instantly on Leorio at that as she bounded on him. Leorio was instantly on the floor with Carter snarling over his now trembling figure. She reeled back, muzzle ready to attack, she had a crazed look in her eyes slightly.

"CARTER!" You yelled allowing your Nen to cover the room. Everyone instantly stopped in fear, the growling dog stopped her snarling and instead started trembling in fear. She had only felt this kind of fear once before when she nearly attacked you. "Off." You said in a stern voice. She instantly obeyed and got off Leorio, shakily sitting next to you. You sighed as your aura disappeared, but Carter stayed shaking, even the others were trembling slightly. "Now then." You said looking at the others, the each took a step back. "Let's think this through shall we?"

"OH!" Gon says releasing the tension after a couple of minutes. "That's how we'll do it!" He said pointing at the broken ground everyone glanced at him in confusion. And soon afterwards you all, except Carter, were now breaking a stone wall with axes. You were slightly using Nen on the axe, but didn't tell the others, and soon the wall was finally destroyed. "It's a slide!" Gon said in excitement. Kurapika glanced at his watch and his eyes widened.

"We have less then 4 minutes!" You nodded and took your long board out.

"Killua get your skateboard." You said and he nodded pulling out his skateboard. You set the skateboard down and looked to Kurapika. "Kurapika you're riding with me and Carter." You said as Carter sat on the front of the long board, he hesitantly nodded and sat in the back as you got on the long board. Glancing back you saw Killua was ready with Leorio and Gon. They sat on the skateboard while you stood on your board instead. "Let's go!" You said and pushed off, Killua following suite. You instantly picked up speed down the slide and you had to bend down as to not fall off. Your hair was flowing back behind you as you smiled happily.

"WOOHOO!!" Gon and Killua yelled in unision clearly enjoying the slide as well.

"How much more time Kurapika!?" You slightly yelled, he glanced down at the watch on his arm.

"2 minutes left!" Kurapika replied. You nodded in acknowledgement and smiled even more when you saw a small patch of light.

"I see the exit!" You informed the four boys behind you, this gave you a chance to see their expressions. Gon and Killua were smiling happily, Leorio was wide eyed and looked as if he was in near terror, Kurapika had a small smile as he enjoyed the ride as well. You smiled even wider, if possible, and looked forward once more. The light was even larger now and you decided to push forward even more, gaining more speed.

"Aurthor, applicant 7, twentieth to pass. Kurapika, applicant 404, twenty-first to pass. Total time, 74 hours and 58 minutes."

An announcer said as you burst through the doorway, gaining many curious glances. You put a foot on the ground and slowed down, soon just standing on the skateboard. Soon another skateboard burst through the doorway, revealing two happy boys and one Leorio holding onto the skateboard for dear life.

"Gon, applicant 405, twenty-second to pass. Killua, applicant 99, twenty-third to pass. Leorio, applicant 403, twenty-fourth to pass. Total time, 74 hours and 59 minutes."

Killua instantly put his two feet onto the floor and slowed down a lot faster than you did. "Man, my hands are covered in blisters, and holding onto your skateboard wasn't any help." Leorio complained as he got up. The others soon got up as well and formed a circle of chatter. You ignored the others as you glanced down at Carter. She wasn't barking to you, and it slightly worried you, but you knew this would happen. You smiled and started petting her head, making her flinch slightly, and got down to her level.

"It's okay Carter, you were just protecting me." You told her, her ears instantly perked slightly and her tail slightly wagged as she realized she wasn't in too much trouble.

"The third phase has ended. Twenty three applicants have passed, one has died. Please head out the door towards the next phase." A voice said and you picked up your long board and made your way towards the exit, the others slightly behind you, but that was to be expected as well.

4th Phase

"Now if you would please pull off the stickers, it will reveal who you will hunt." Lito said. You pulled off the sticker to reveal a large 89. Quickly looking up you found the number instantly. It was a fairly large man, he had shoulder length hair, a gross sickly color green shirt under a brown potato sack looking shirt, he wore grey loose fitting pants, leather shoes, and had two blue bracelets on both wrists.

He instantly grabbed his pin and shoved it into his right pocket. He started looking around and you instantly started looking around, making it seem as though you were looking for your prey. The announcer told everyone to get on the boat and you followed suite.

Once on the boat it took off and the announcer was talking about something, but you weren't paying attention as you continued to think about your opponent.

'He doesn't seem strong, so I might not have to use Nen, but at the same time I can't beat him in strength since I'm a long range fighter. Since he doesn't have any weapons I'll have Carter trap him then make him give me the pin. It's a shitty move, but it's better then having to kill the poor guy. Sorry.... guy-who's-name-I-don't-know. Train harder and try again.... But if he tries to attack I-'

A poke to your side made you instantly burst into giggles as you grabbed the side of your stomach and looked over to the person, your face bursting into a bright red. Standing there was Gon and Killua. Killua instantly burst into laughter while Gon just stared at you curiously.

"W-What hahahahah what w-was t-th-hahahahah that?!" Killua asked, laughter interrupting his sentence. You coughed anxiously, the red on your face staying, as you continued to stare at the two.

"W-What did you need?" You stuttered as Carter was staring at the two boys with her head tilted.

"We were going to ask you about your opponent." Gon said with a smile. Killua seemed to be edging closer towards.

"Oh, my opponent is 89." You said slapping Killua's hands away from your sides. Gon tilted his head slightly.

"Who's that?" He asked as you slapped Killua's hands once more.

"That's um.... Black hair, gross shirt, leather shoes.." You explained in a small whisper as you started bending Killua's finger to get him to stop.

"Ow, ow, ow, stop! stop!" Killua said trying to pry your hand off his, but failed slightly.

"Oh! Then that means you don't have any of us, neither of us have yours either." Gon said as you finally released Killua's poor fingers, he rubbed his fingers as he glared at you.

"Really? That's good, who do you have?" You asked curiously. Gon instantly whipped out his I.D. tag and it showed the number 44. Killua followed suite and his was 198. You tilted your head in confusion. "Who are they?" You asked.

"I have Hisoka, and we don't know who 198 is, but Killua believes it to be one of the Amori brothers." Gon explained, you frowned slightly.

"Amora brothers?" Killua facepalmed as Gon sweat dropped.

"Amori brothers, those three buffoons who always stick together." Killua whisper shouted making sure the word 'Amori' stick like a tack. It didn't.

"Oh okay. What about Kurapika and Leorio?" You asked. The two shrugged their shoulders and you put a hand under your chin in thought. 'So if these two don't have me, what about Kurapika and Leorio? If they do, then those two are screwed. I'm not giving up my pin, even if they are my friends. I need to get some money quick then head back to that Island. I still need to find that stupid li-'

"AURTHOR!!" A voice shouted going through the already low music that was playing in your ears. You looked over to Killua who seemed to be out of breath from his shouting as it also gained the attention of a few other examinees.

"Yeah?" You asked nonchalantly. Gon sweat dropped as Killua fumed. He soon started pelting your forehead with pokes complaining about how you are never listening. While this was happening you didn't notice as Carter slowly walked over to Gon and was sniffing him lightly. Gon looked down at the brindled dog who froze on the spot. He smiled warmly and was about to pet her when she growled slightly, making him freeze, and backed off from the boy as he watched her curiously.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow-" You continuously chanted as Killua was now just poking your forehead repeatedly.

"E-Eh, Killua." Gon said as he sweat dropped. Killua finally stopped his poking and sent his glare to Gon instead. "I-I think you should stop, if you continue Aurthor will-" But he wasn't able to continue as you fell backwards, now just staring at the sky, as your hands held your forehead.

"Owww." You slightly groaned as you lightly glared at the silver haired boy. Carter had laid down next to you, like she usually did. "Why did you poke me?" You asked now lightly pouting. The two boys just stared at you as if you were a five year old, and you kind of were acting like one. The two then suddenly burst into laughter as you just continued to stare at them, you lost your pout and sat up, smiling. Then joined in their laughter. That was until the two decided to attack your sides making you squeal like a girl and burst into laughter, tears formed into your eyes as the pain of laughter was too much.

~Time Skip~

You were now pouting, ignoring the two boys who were smiling innocently next to you. After laughing so hard, and nearly passing out, Killua and Gon finally stopped allowing you to regain your breath and allowed a headache to form. Afterwards you were told to go to the front and was now standing next to the two, along with Leorio and Kurapika who were glancing at you curiously, as you tried to get through the thumping pain in your head as you ignored the women who was talking about waiting 2 minutes till the next person went into the woods.

After she FINALLY stopped talking she started letting people off the boat and into the woods. You knew you wouldn't have to go for a while so you sat against a wall slowly massaging your temples, a frown on your face with your eyes closed, as Carter was sitting next to you.

"Hey, are you okay?" A voice asked making you open an eye to see Kurapika. You sighed and leaned your head back onto the wall.

"Yeah, just a slight headache thanks to a couple of young little bastards." You said now glaring at the two boys who were chatting it up. Kurapika glanced over to the two before grinning slightly with a chuckle.

"It's okay, they were probably just messing around." Kurapika said. "Mind if I sit next to you? I'm after you anyways." He said and you nodded. Kurapika sat next to you and the two of you sat and waited.

"Applicant 7!" A voice said loudly after a few minutes and you opened your eyes. Sighing you got up and indicated for Carter to follow, which she did. The woman perked once she saw you. "Applicant 7?" She asked innocently and you nodded. "Okay, please make your way into the forest." She said and you nodded once more and just walked off the boat and made your way into the forest.

"I didn't really pay attention to that woman, did you catch what she said?" You asked Carter as you walked through the forest, your hands behind your head as you stretched you back and arms, the music in your headphones playing slightly loud, but able to hear her. Carter barked in response as you both jumped down a small cliff. "What did she say?" You asked curiously and you both stopped in a fairly large dirt covered area. Carter scratched at the dirt a few times before digging a large hole and rolling onto her back. "Oh, so were staying on this island for a week. That's a little too much time, although I guess it is slightly fair." You shrugged and Carter rolled back onto her feet and shook off the dirt on her.

You continued to walk and make small talk to your dog, knowing about the person who was following you, but ignored it. You could tell the person was weirded out about you talking to Carter as if she was a normal person, but after being with her for so long sharing your Nen with her and going from island to island, the two of you had ended up gaining such a connection that you could talk just from her barking and her actions. Soon you reached a river and smiled happily.

"Finally somewhere to rest for a bit." You said setting your backpack next to a tree on top of the connected long board. "You first." You told Carter as you sat against the tree. She walked over to you and you took off her electric color, sure it was a good collar and was stylish, but wasn't waterproof.... Of course, not yet. 'I should probably take a visit to him and see if he can upgrade some stuff' You thought as you held the collar in your hand and watched Carter walk into the water and started playing in it and sometimes drinking from it.

You pulled out your Ipod, giving a false sense of insecurity, as you let your En surround you. Carter already knew of your plan and continued to play in the water, cleaning herself. You finally decided on a song and put you Ipod back, then leaned back letting your head lean forward as you closed your eyes, but not to sleep.

Rustle

'Wow, this person just sucks when it comes to being quiet' You thought as the person rustled a bush near you, but not in your En range. You continued to act asleep and waited. Carter finally finished her bath and walked out of the water. She shook her fur from the water before glancing at you then ran off into the woods.

"Heheh. His dog just left him." A voice said lowly. You resisted the urge to smirk. Soon after the man finally moved once more and was soon nearly on top of him. "Sorry kid, better luck next year." The voice said reaching out to take your pin. You grabbed his wrist instantly and opened your eyes to see the pure shock on the mans face. Behind him growling was heard and he tensed even more, his eyes showing fear.

"You know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover." You said then held your other hand out as if waiting to be given something. "Pin." Was all you said and the man slowly reached into his pocket. He soon pulled out a white pin with the number 198 on it. "Eh! You're on of the..... Aturi brothers!" You nearly screeched, the man had a tick mark, but didn't say anything. You took the pin from his hand and blinked. 'This is Killua's prey' You thought and huffed. "You aren't mine... Leave now, or my companion will make sure you leave with a limp." You smiled innocently and the man trembled slightly before nodding frantically. You released his wrist and he bolted back into the woods.

Carter had stopped growling after your threat and just continued to watch the man run. She barked happily and ran up to you. You held a hand out and she licked it happily. "Good girl Carter." You said then held out the 198 pin to let her see it. "It's not ours, but it is Killua's, and he'll want this..." You said before gaining a Cheshire grin. "Let's hold onto it shall we?" You said happily to Carter. She barked in agreement and you put her collar back on her. You continued to smile as you drank some water from the river and refilled your water sacks.

"Welp, let's get going." You said putting your backpack on after shoving the extra pin in your backpack.

~2 day Time Skip~

"Finally!" You whisper shouted. It had been 2 days since you and Carter had been attacked by the Aruli brother. Through those two days you had started searching for your prey and after finding many other opponents you had finally found your target. You used Zetsu instantly, turned your music down slightly, and looked towards Carter, she looked back at you waiting for instructions. You pointed at her, used to fingers to indicate walking, then pointed at your target and made a corner of a square with your hands. She nodded. You pointed at yourself, did the walking thing again, hid behind your hands, then pointed at her, and ended with a taking motion. She nodded once more. 'Good' You thought and she took off, circling around the poor guy. 'And I never got his name, oh well I would have forgotten it either way'.

It seemed the guy noticed Carter as he glanced over at the snarling dog. She had this crazed look in her eyes as her mouth was frothing from all the snarling. She was releasing a small amount of blood lust which was enough to scare the poor guy. He instantly bolted the opposite direction and she gave chase. You smirked 'Clever girl' You thought and followed after the two.

It wasn't long before she cornered the man. She walked up to him, but stopped once he was pressing his back to the wall. You considered this a good chance and released your Zetsu as you walked up to stand next to the snarling dog. "Good girl Carter. Plan complete." You said petting the snarling dog. She wagged her tail slightly, but instantly stopped and continued her snarling.

"Y-You own that crazed bitch?!" He yelled in fear, you frowned in anger.

"Don't call my companion a bitch." You said, your voice laced in anger. He was now frozen in fear and you held a hand out. "Pin." Was all you said and the guy shakily reached into his pocket and tossed the pin out to you. Carter caught it in her mouth and walked over to you. You took the pin and glanced at it. It showed a large 89  and smiled happily. "Thank you, good luck next year." You said and started walking off.

"Yeah, take your crazy bitch with you." He murmured to himself making you stop. You looked back at the man with a deep glare. He froze on spot. Carter was once again snarling.

"Carter." You said and she leaned down slightly. "Attack." And all hell broke loose. The man screamed bloody murder as Carter bit down on his leg. She pulled down slightly, leaving bit trails down his leg, then bit his arm next as he tried to rip her off.

He pulled his arm up, readying an attack, but you had pulled a Nen gun to his head making him freeze, you didn't even bother choosing a song to give it more strength. He was trembling in both fear and pain from Carter holding his arm. "Don't. Ever. Hurt. My. Companion." You said, your voice emotionless. He shakily nodded and went limp. "Let's go Carter." You said and let the gun disappear as you walked off, Carter next to you her muzzle covered in blood, and turning your music up once more.

You sighed unhappily and glanced at Carter. "Are you okay Carter?" You asked, she glanced at you and wagged her tail. You smiled happily. "That's good, maybe that will teach him not to underestimate everything." You said and noticed her slightly droopy tail. "Hey, what he said is not true, you are not a bitch. You are my companion, my BEST FRIEND!" You said exaggerating 'Best Friend'. She looked at you and her tail returned to its normal position as she started panting and wagging her tail happily.

'At least now she's happy once more, that guy took a toll on her mood. I hate it when people call her something rude like that, like who are they to judge my friend?! Not them, that's for fucking sure. I swear the next asshole who-'

"Oof!" You said as you ran into a body. You stumbled slightly before looking up to the re-

"Oh, it's just you Killua." You said as Killua glared at you.

"IDIOT! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" He yelled at you, clearly pissed. You chuckled nervously.

"Sorry I was just thinking about something."

"You're always thinking about something!" He said poking your forehead in annoyance before his eyes widened in realization. "Also a little birdy told me you had my tag." Killua said slightly glaring once more.

"Is that what it is? I kept calling it a pin, huh. Weird." You said putting a hand under your chin in thought. Carter seemed to shake her head and attempted a face-paw, only to fail. "Hah, you're never going to be able to do it Carter." You teased and she seemed to glare at you. "And yes I-" You stopped as Killua kept staring at Carter, more like her muzzle, in astonishment. "And he says I think to much." You said shrugging. "Bye Killua~." You said walking off, Carter following.

"O-Oi!" Killua said now walking beside you. You raised an eyebrow at him. "I'm not leaving until I get my tag." You shrugged.

"Sure, once we find a source of water. I need a bath, you can watch my bag for me." You said the younger boy frowned in annoyance before huffing a small 'Fine'.

"YAAY WATER!" You shouted as you spread you hands out indicating to the river.

"You really are an odd one, you know that?" Killua said making you glance at him with a smile.

"Being optimistic helps the brain, and it's good to be optimistic." You said setting your backpack down. "Watch my bag for me please, I need a well deserved.... bath, I guess." You shrugged and took off your headphones after turning off your music, and started stripping. First was your jacket, then your shirt, pants, and whatever else, but kept your underwear on. You sat your clothes next to your bag and noticed Killua staring at your headphones. "What's wrong?" You asked the silver haired boy who looked up at you, finally taking notice of all the different claw and bite marks all over your torso, but ignored it.

"I have never seen you take your headphones off before." He said and blinked then frowned slightly. "You look weird without them." This made you laugh slightly and he glared at you. "What?"

"Nothing, just your comment was funny." You said calming down. "You can listen to them if you want, I don't mind." You said getting up.

"Really?"

"Really." You said and turned to the river. "Just be careful with them!" You said and got into the river. It was waist deep, instantly soaking your undergarments, but you had more, you always packed more in case of scenarios like this.

As you washed yourself and Carter's muzzle you glanced over at Killua who donned your headphones and was staring excitedly at your Ipod. You chuckled lightly and got out of the river. Carter following you. You soon reached your backpack and pulled out a different pair of underwear. Going behind the tree that Killua was sitting behind, you quickly changed your underwear and stuffed the other in a heated bag that would dry them. You grabbed your jeans and pulled them up when you felt two presences nearby, walking your way.

Ignoring your other clothes and shoes you got into an attacking stance and Carter got in one next to you.

Rustle

"See I told you it was o-" The voice instantly stopped as a certain blonde stood there staring at your half naked body. You sighed in relief. 'It's just Kurapika, but who-'

"Hey! Why did you sto-" A second voice said going around Kurapika, to low-and-behold turn out to be Leorio.

"Oh it's just you two. False alarm." You said and turned back around to grab the rest of your clothes. You glanced at Killua who was completely indulged in your Ipod. 'Did he not sense the two? I'm pretty sure he's an assassin' You thought and pulled your shirt over your head, you quickly put your jacket on, then your shoes.

While you were doing so Kurapika and Leorio just stood there and stared at your scarred yet somehow muscular body. Yet something felt off about you. Once you had all your clothes on the two realized you were staring at someone with a slight frown. Getting out of their shocked state then walked around the tree to see a familiar white haired boy who was bobbing his head to the music he was listening to in the familiar pair of headphones.

"Why is Killua wearing your headphones?" Kurapika asked making you look over to the two.

"I took a slight bath in that river and let Killua listen to my Ipod while watching my bag. You responded as Carter sat beside you, her muzzle still soaking wet just like your hair. "But now it feels weird not hearing music." You mumbled to yourself and grabbed the top of the headphones and pulled them off the male. Music was playing through the small speakers and you recognized the song as a Help Our Souls Remix. You put the headphones on and turned the music down. Killua blinked for a second before looking up. He instantly jumped up, realizing he was now surrounded, but soon calmed when it was just you, Kurapika, and Leorio. "Nice pick in song choice." You said now taking the Ipod from him.

"EH!? But I was listening to that!" He complained, you shrugged your shoulders. "Also when did you two get here?" He asked gaining a sweat drop from the two.

"He didn't notice us?" Kurapika mumbled to himself as you hauled your backpack up and put your headphones onto your neck. You shook your head like a dog, letting your hair run loose, and once you were done you looked almost like a fuzzball. You put your headphones back on then looked at the three boys.

"'Kay, I'm off then, here's your tag Killua." You said giving him the 198 tag.

"EH? You're leaving?" Leorio asked in shock.

"Yeah, I'm going to look around this island for fun. Who knows I might run into a new species of animal, or plant." You said as you started walking off. "Chow." You said and you glanced over to Carter. You both nodded and jumped up into the forest, making it look as if you disappeared. You instantly used Zetsu once a few feet away from the small group, don't want them following you.

~End of week Time Skip~

"Please show your tags." The woman said and you pulled out your two tags. 7 and 89. She smiled and let you onto the boat. You yawned tiredly as you walked over to a wall. Carter laid next to you and you decided to see who was left. 44, Hikoka obviously. 301, the weird pin guy. 294, some bald ninja dude. 53, a normal looking teen with a bow. 191, some old guy who probably does martial arts.

"Please show your tags." The woman says again making you, and everyone else, look over. You smile happy to see Killua and once she takes the extra tags he looks over and spots you then makes his way over to you.

"Yo." He says and sits next to you. "So Gon and the others haven't made it yet?" He asked.

"Nope, but they will." You said with a smile as you stared at the woods, Killua glanced at you and smiled as well.

"Yeah, they will."

The woman looked at a watch on her arm then looked up. "It seems there are 5 minutes left, I doubt there will be any arriving, meaning 7 applicants have pa-"

"Wait!" A voice yelled out making the woman turn, along with everyone else, and see three familiar faces running towards the boat. "Time hasn't run out has it?" Gon asked as he reached the woman. She shook her head then turned to the three boys.

"Tags?" She said and the three pulled out their tags. Once they were done the got on the boat and took notice of you and Killua.

"Killua! Aurthor!" Gon yelled happily and Killua got up as he ran over to the two of you. "I'm so glad you two made it!" You chuckled.

"I'm glad you made it as well. Although I'm slightly surprised Leorio actually made it." You said glancing at the suited man.

"HEY!" He yelled at you with a tick mark.

"Time is up! 10 applicants have passed the Fourth Phase. We will now make our way to the Fifth Phase." The woman said as the boat left the island.

Fifth Phase

You sat on a bench, staring out of the giant window at the sky your music playing lowly, as Carter sat next to you on the bench. For once you weren't thinking about anything, you were kind of just zoning out staring at the clouds. You sighed in contempt as you laid your head down on the table and continued to stare at the clouds.

"I have an announcement for all applicants. The chairman wishes to interview the remaining candidates. When your number is called please make your way to the first reception room, on the second floor. Then we will start with applicant 7, Aurthor-kun." An announcer-most likely Rean-said. You sighed in annoyance before slowly getting up and making your way to said room.

Once you reached the door you hesitantly knocked on the door, wincing at how loud you knocked. 'Stupid strength' You thought irritably.

"Please come in." Netero said making you enter the room. "Aurthor-kun, I'm so glad I don't have to send Bean or any of the other applicants to get you." Netero said with a smile you rolled your eyes and brushed the comment off since he always said that every exam, after a couple of times you just ignored it or else he would continue.

"Eh, I was kind of wandering around looking for something to do." You shrugged.

"If you would please take off your headphones, I would like your full attention." Netero said and you paused your music and took off your headphones, it felt weird as always. "Thank you, now please sit." You complied easily as Carter sat next to you and stared at Netero in anticipation.

"Well, what's this years questions?" You asked as you crossed your legs.

"Straight to the point as always." Netero said and took a paint brush out, ready to write. "Since I already know the reason you wish to be a hunter. Which of the other nine applicants are you keeping an eye on?"

"I'd have to say 44, 99, and 405. 44 because I already know him technically. 405 and 99 because they have potential." You said with a small smile. Netero wrote down some stuff before glancing up at you.

"Okay, then out of the other nine applicants who would you least want to fight?" Netero asked, you put a hand under your chin in thought and hummed.

"I guess.... 191 and 53." You said looking back to Netero who seemed slightly surprised.

"And why is that?" He asked curiously.

"They just don't seem.... ready, not the best word choice but whatever." You mumbled the last part to yourself as Netero raised an eyebrow before chuckling.

"I see, you are free to go now." Netero said writing something down once more. You nodded and put your headphones back on, got up, and played your music once more as you left the room.

~Time Skip~

"Well ladies and gentlemen. Did yo-" You instantly zoned out, not bothering to listen, knowing what was going on. They were just explaining how you and the others were staying at this hotel until the end of the Fifth Phase and what the Fifth Phase was exactly. Then Netero pulled off the cloth on the white board. It started with 294, Gon, you, 53, Killua, 301, 191, Kurapika, Kisaka, and lastly Leorio. Netero continued his explaination about how the brackets worked and all that. This seemed to make some of the contestants complain and soon Killua wanted answers about the bracket, which Netero ignored of course, and soon the phase started.

First was Gon and 294. You closed your eyes as you leaned against the wall, deciding to ignore the fight, knowing that Gon would win. Soon a poke woke you from your slight sleep like state. You opened an eye to see Killua poking you. "Hey, it's your turn." He said pointing to the Arena.

"I guess Gon won?" You asked and he nodded. You smiled. "Good." You said and made your way to the small fighting area, Carter following.

"Oh Aurthor-kun." A voice said making you turn to Netero. You hummed in acknowledgement. "Your friend isn't allowed to fight, you know that." You blinked in surprise.

"Oh yeah." You mumbled and looked over at Carter. "Stay." You said and she sat down watching you. You walked onto the arena and turned to look at the ninja.

"Eh? Another kid?" The ninja asked with furrowed eyebrows. "I hope you know I'm not going to go easy on you either." He said and you shrugged.

"I don't mind, I'm curious about your power anyways." You said pulling out your Ipod. The ninja sweat dropped as he watched you curiously. You picked your song and clicked Repeat, something you only do when against a strong opponent. You hit play, your Nen surrounding you,  and looked at the ninja. "Ready when you are." You smiled.

"Start!"

And start the ninja did he instantly jumped behind you, but you were ready as he attacked. What surprised him was the weird Visor that had now covered your eyes. You grabbed his arm and threw him over you. He instantly regained himself and attempted to attack you once more but you dodged easily. Thanks to this song it made you... well what the song was. You watched as the ninja wasn't happy at all. He started to attack you swiftly, but you dodged all this attacks easily. He soon pulled out a secret blade and you jumped back into a handspring, but the ninja followed with ease. You kept dodging, watching his movements. They were swift, controlled, but one thing that was his flaw was that he was slightly getting frustrated. 'And only after 3 plays of this song, I would've expected better, oh well' You thought.

You could tell everyone was watching you in awe. Well almost everyone, you could tell a certain joker was watching you with a seductive look. You knew to ignore it, but it stayed in the back of your mind.

You continued to dodge the ninja, making him even more pissed, it was only the 5th play and he was already frustrated. You could tell Killua was starting to get annoyed as well, every now and when you had a chance you could see the frustration in his eyes. "You know," You said making everyone slightly jump in surprise as you continued to dodge the ninja. "You have a flaw." You said, the ninja's eyes widened.

"No I don't." He quickly retorted. It almost made you chuckle.

"You do, and you know it." You said leaning back as he tried to slash you and quickly handspring-ed away. "You get angry easily." You said now dodging by hand stand. You jumped back onto your feet as he slashed at your hands.

"Shut up!" He said a tick mark on his forehead.

"Point proven, now then." You said as the song got to the sperratic speaking. You instantly started jumping around the ninja making after images. He looked around in confusion before you appeared behind him and punch him in the back with a pretty powerful punch. He fell forward and landed on his face. He didn't get up.

"Eh?" You blinked in surprise as the song ended. "Shit did I punch him too hard?" You exclaimed as the song started once more. Everyone sweat dropped at your exclamation. "Ninja dude are you okay?" You asked walking over to him cautiously.

"I-I give up." He said still laying on the floor. You looked over to him and saw he had comical tears streaming down his face. "Beaten by two kids.." He mumbled to himself as you let your Nen settle and paused your music, the visor going away.

"If it makes you feel better, I'm 17 years old." You told him as you stared at him. His eyes widened and he got up immediately.

"EH! No way! You're too short to be 17!" He exclaimed pointing a finger at you. You chuckled nervously.

"I know, I get that a lot." You sweat dropped then held a hand out. "Good fight, work on your anger and you should be good to go." You smiled at the ninja. He stared at you for a bit then smiled in return and shook your hand.

"Hanzo." He said making you tilt your head. "My names Hanzo, not 'ninja dude'." He said making you smile.

"Oh okay! Thanks for the fight Handso." You smiled as you released his hand. He gained a tick mark at your retreating figure as you went and stood next to Carter. You didn't notice the sweat drops from everyone else as you put your back pack on and changed your song, turning off repeat.

~Time Skip~

You watched, slightly paying attention, as the rest of the fights went on. It was Hanza vs 53, which ended quickly as Hunza put 53 in an arm lock. Then it was Killua vs 53, but Killua gave up instantly. You smacked him upside the head for that, making him glare at you as you told him to always accept a challenge no matter if the person is weak or not. 'Every fight gives you experience' you said making his eyes widen in understanding, then he ignored you for the rest of the time with a pout.

Next was Kurapika and Hosika. They fought for a while, it was a pretty amazing fight even though it was completely one sided. They fought for a bit until Hasika whispered something to Kurapika then gave up. You stared at him in curiously as Kurapika left the arena and 191 took his place. The two fought as well, again one sided, but 191 was persistant, that is until Kasaki whispered something to him as well. 191 gave up and Kosiki walked off the arena. Next was Leorio's turn, but he wanted to let 191 rest, so now it was Killua and 301's turn.

After the two stood there 301 started talking to Killua, making the boy freeze, you watched interested as 301 pulled out the pins revealing himself.... or herself? as a girl with long hair. He seemed to be talking to Killua, who had turned stiff as a board, you watched as 301 released his blood lust filled Nen. You instantly turned your music down, now putting your full attention on the conversation.

"What would you accomplish by becoming a hunter?" 301 asked Killua.

"True, I don't want to become a hunter, but..... I do have something I want..." Killua said dejectedly.

"No you don't."

"I DO!" Killua yelled. "There's something I really want!"

"Hmm? And what's that?"

Killua looked down, trying to think of the right words.

"What's wrong? There's nothing you really want, is there?" 301 questioned.

"That's not it!" Killua countered. A moment of silence. "I want to be friends.. with Gon.. I'm sick of killing people... I want to be friends with him, and live a normal life." Killua said sadly.

"That's impossible." 301 said emotionless. "You'll never be able to make friends." He continued as Killua grit his teeth in frustration. "Your only concern when you meet someone is whether you should kill them. That's how you were trained. You just don't know how to classify Gon because he's too dazzling for your eyes. You don't actually want to become friends with him."

"You're wrong.." Killua attempted to reassure himself.

"If you stay with him, you'll end up wanting to kill him one day. You'll get the urge to see if you can kill them or not, because you have the soul of a killer." Killua was struck with fear, he was trembling as his hands were clenched tightly, his eyes showing the fear inside them.

"Killua." You said aloud making said boy turn to you, even 301 glanced at you curiously. "Why are you asking to be Gon's friend?" You said making his eyes widen in discouragement. "He's already your friend you dumbass. You know him as well as I do that that's what he believes, so why does this guy make you think otherwise?" You asked indicating to 301 who stared at you in surprise.

"Really?" 301 asked curiously.

"I don't know, why do you think I interrupted your depressing speech?" You said nonchalantly. 301 puts a hand up in thought.

"That's no good. He considers Kil a friend..." He suddenly puts a hand up as if to come to realization. "Okay, I'll kill Gon." At this you and Carter are instantly in front of the exit, both releasing a large amount of blood lust, Carter snarling with her fur up.

"Any attempts on Gon and I swear by the gods above." You pulled out your trusty machine gun with one hand. "I. Will. Kill. You." You said, your aura darkening, making everyone freeze.

"This won't due..." 301 said. "I need a Hunter license to do my job... But if I kill him, I'll fail, and Kil will pass automatically." He says then comes to a realization. "I know! I'll pass the exam before killing Gon." He then turns to Netero. "If I wait until after passing the exam, I can kill everyone here and still keep my license, right?"

"Yes, that is true." Netero said sweating slightly at your malicious aura.

"Did you hear that Kil?" 301 said as he looked to Killua. "You have to beat me if you want to save Gon." 301 stepped toward Killua. "Will you fight me for your friend's sake? You can't do it. Because you're more worried about whether or not you can defeat me." Killua's eyes widened in fear. "And you already have your answer, I'm not strong enough to beat my brother. Never fight an enemy you can't beat. I drilled that into you..." He said as Killua started to step back, but stopped in fear as 301 put a hand out.

"Don't move! If you move an inch, I'll assume that the fight has begun. And if our bodies make contact, that will also mean the fight has begun. There's only one way to stop me. You know what that is. But don't forget... If you don't fight me, your dear Gon will die."

"Take him out, Killua!" Leorio yells in frustration, "We won't let him kill you or Gon! We'll stop him, whatever it takes! Let him have it!" But it didn't seem to do anything.

"I surrender. I lose..." Killua drops his head in shame, his bangs covering his face. You and Carter both got ready to attack as you both stared menacingly at 301.

"Oh, that's great." 301 said and clapped his hands together happily. "Then the battles over." He leaned down and put a hand on Killua's shoulder. "I lied, Kil. I was lying about killing Gon. That was just a little test. But now I have my answer." He lowered his voice slightly. "You don't have the right to make friends. Nor do you need friends. You should just listen to Dad and me, and do your 'job' as you always have. When the time comes, I'll tell you to take the Hunter Exam. You don't need a license yet." He then turned to you. "And you can stop with the killing intent, Gon's save now." Although this didn't ease you at all.

You slowly yet surely calmed down, but stayed near the door, as you watched Killua and 301 walk back to their spots and were replaced by Leorio and 191. The two got ready for the match, but your gaze was to Killua, who was standing morbidly.

"Start." The announcer said, but just as the match started Killua instantly got onto the Arena and had already stabbed his arm through 191. He instantly pulled his arm out, 191 dropping dead, and made his way out the door. You just stared at the poor boy as the door closed.

~Time Skip~

You sat in the orientation room Carter sitting in a chair next to you, as you payed more attention to your music that was blasting through your headphones instead of the lecture. Anyone who even glanced your way could tell you were upset at yourself for not stopping the young boy, but how could you? Even you felt the blood lust seeping through the silver haired boy as he walked past you, and even so, you couldn't do anything since he already killed 191. He sighed once more as you dully stared at the front.

A door burst open making everyone, except you, Kasiku, and 301, turn to see who it was. The person stormed down the stairs heading towards 301. You glanced over and saw it was Gon, his left arm in a sling. He seemed to be yelling at 301. He soon grabbed 301's arm and threw him into the air, making him land behind Gon. Gon said something making 301's eyes widen ever so slightly, this caused everyone to start arguing over stupid stuff, somewhere you were mentioned making you sulk even more and lower your head. Carter seemed to get in on the arguing as she started growling and barking in your defense.

"NONE OF THAT MATTERS!" Gon yelled, cutting through your music, you turned it down slightly to hear what Gon had to say. "It's pointless to argue over whether someone should have passed. If you aren't happy about passing, keep working until you're satisfied. If Killua retakes the Hunter Exam, he'll definitely pass! It's unfortunate that he failed this time, but it is what it is. What does matter... If you've been forcing Killua to kill, like he is your own personal puppet... I will make you pay." Gon seethed at 301 as he had started crushing his arm.

"Make me pay?" 301 said in slight surprise. "What, exactly, will you do?"

"I won't do anything. Only, once I rescue Killua, I'll never let you see him again!" Gon said making 301 pause. He started putting his hand out to Gon, like he did with Killua, and Gon instantly backed off. You, on the other hand, blinked in surprise before bursting into quiet laughter, holding it behind your hand. The others looked at you in surprise until a cough made them turn to Netero as you calmed down.

"Is everyone finished? Gon is absolutely correct. You must decide for yourselves if you were worthy of passing. You may complain about the results all you like, but we will not be changing our minds. Killua has been disqualified. And the rest of you have passed the exam." Netero glanced at Tean and nodded to him, allowing the green suited blob thingy to continue the Orientation.

~Time Skip~

Once the Orientation was done you had finally stepped out and made you way to the entrance, but stopped. Carter glanced at you curiously, until she noticed you taking your long board off your back pack. You were about to put it down before a certain ninja stopped in front of you.

"Yo." He said and you blinked in surprise before turning your music down.

"Oh, Hunds-"

"Hanzo."

"Hanzo. What do you need?" You asked putting a hand on your hip.

"I'm going back to my country, I just wanted to say good bye and thank you for the advice. I plan to train on that." He said bowing in respect.

"Oh, it's okay, no need to thank me. It was a pleasure to fight with you." You said and he raised with a smile.

"Here, if you ever visit my country give me a call." He said holding out a card. You took it and looked at it. Hidden-Cloud Ninja Hanzo-A number was under the fancy writing. 'I'll definetly remember his name now' You thought and looked back up to the ninja.

"Thanks.." You looked back down to the card. "Hanzo." You smiled, his smile brightened.

"Well, see ya..." He paused as if coming to realize something. "I never did get your name."

"Aurthor." You said putting the card into my backpack.

"Right, see you Aurthor-san." He said and made his way out. 'I feel as though I should end with -san for him, now I feel bad' You thought with a frown.

"Bye!" A young voice said making you blink out of your daze, you turned to see Gon waving good bye to 53, Kurapika and Leorio smiling behind him. You smiled happily as you walked over to the trio.

"Oh, Aurthor-kun." Kurapika said noticing you. Leorio and Gon looked over to you. Carter walked over and seemed to stop in between you and Gon. She continued to stare at the spiky haired boy.

"Hey, I just wanted to say good bye." You said.

"Eh? You're not coming with us?" Gon asked in surprise. You blinked at him before giving a small smile.

"Unfortunately I have to go an get some money-"

"Eh? Money aye?" Leorio smirked eyeing Kurapika who gained a tick mark. You raised an eyebrow at him before continuing.

"I need to get some money since I don't get any with my License. So I'm going to head back home to get some money to head to back to the island I was studying."

"Wait," Kurapika said making you turn to him. "You should have money with your license, all hunters get a sum of 100,000 jenni with their license."

"I don't, it's apart of my agreement." You replied.

"Agreement?"

"Oh! You mean how you can take the Hunter Exam as many times as you want?" Gon asked making Kurapika and Leorio look at him then you with wide eyes.

"Yup. I don't get any money with my new license, but I still get the same benefits of any other hunter."

"Wait, you can take the exam over and over?" Leorio asked in surprise. You nodded. "Then how many times have you taken the Exam?!" He asked.

"This is my 5th Exam. I'm actually a 2-star hunter." You said pulling out your license to prove your point.

"EEHH?? What about your other licenses?" He asked.

"I lost them, and the last one I sold." You said with a shrug as you put your license away getting a shocked reaction from Leorio and a sweat drop from Kurapika. "Anyways I best get going, I have a lot of money to save up to head back to the island I was on. My research is only halfway done." You said turning around before realizing something. "OH!" You turned back around. "Did Hanzo-san give you a card?" You asked.

"Yeah, he did. What about them?" Gon asked curiously.

"Let me see them." You said holding a hand out, the trio gave you the cards and you pulled out a pen from your pocket.

"How long has he had that?" Kurapika mumbled as he sweat dropped and watched you scribble something on all three cards.

"There. Now you guys have my number. Call me if you ever have any questions, or want to go on any adventures, or even to go to a relaxing island. I don't mind." You shrugged handing the cards back to the three. "Have a good time saving Killua." You said then put an arm around Gon. Leaned in and whispered, "I can't wait till you grow stronger, once you do I wish for a rematch." You winked at him then leaned away.

You let your long board fall to the ground. "Welp, I'm off, let's go Carter." You said looking to the brindled dog who was staring at Gon. She got up and walk over to you, but kept her gaze to Gon. You smirked. "Seems someone likes you Gon." You said making Carter look at you and bark.

"Eh? Who?" Gon asked making you laugh.

"See ya." You said and rolled away as you turned your music up.
