Victor of Year 151: Jazzynn "Jaz" Jones [@LightOfTheMooneh]
Revenge can change people, but is there a way to change them back?
★Name: Jazzynn “Jaz” Jones
★Gender: Female
★Age: 18
★District: Six; Transportation
★Physical Appearance: A color falling between blonde and brown, Jaz’s hair is often a mess of waves tumbling to the middle of her back. Her eyes have dulled over time, a shade of gray blended with a murky green. Heavy makeup from the Capitol darkens her eyes, smeared precisely how she prefers it. Her lips, however, don’t share the overdo of cosmetics; instead, they remain chapped from her habit of biting them when she’s nervous or sad. Standing at about 5’ 9’’, Jaz finds herself towering over most of her gender, though it isn’t something she isn’t proud of. She’s thin - almost abnormally so - and it’s a wonder she doesn’t abuse the advantages of a Victor so many of those in her district would love to have.
★Personality: In one word, Jaz can be described as crazy. Ever since she returned from the Games, she’s been out of it. Staying up nights doing things no one can figure out and wearing smeared makeup on purpose isn’t exactly normal. She’s intelligent, though it’s something that’s often overlooked because of her current state. Having found a liking for swords, she’s often spending her time around them and practicing. She won’t hesitate to drive her blade through another tribute’s body, and she works alone. She doesn’t trust anyone in the arena, and she doesn’t want any complications with her feelings if something happens. She’s confident and determined. She’ll win and put on a show while doing it - well, at least, that’s what she believes.
★Past: Within the middle class of District Six, Jaz grew up under the care of two loving parents with her best friend Remus at her side. The family of three seemed to be repelling any tragedy, and any death that hit the district never seemed to wound young Jaz in any way. Her time did come, however, in the form of the 151st Annual Hunger Games. Reaped alongside Remus, tragedy hit the two best friends and their families because they knew the chances of both coming home were impossible, and the chances of even one of them making it home were outrageously low.
It was in the Bloodbath itself that Remus fell to the blade of a ruthless Career, a gleaming sword in his hands as he laid dying in a pool of his own blood. Ignoring the cries inside of her that urged her to run, to hide, she stayed while the Bloodbath continued. For an entire minute she held his hand, whispers of comfort on her tongue. For an entire minute she waited, and when the light finally departed from his eyes, did she pick up the sword whose hilt he still held within his fingers.
Some say she went crazy. Some say she lost herself. Jaz, however, likes to think she found herself. The arena was no match to the revenge she sought, and there were only a number of tributes in her way. Sneaking on anyone who was alone or a Career who had drifted from the pack, she single-handedly took out a fourth of the tributes. Making it to the final three, she found herself facing the girl who had killed Remus - who had been the brother she never had - and her boyfriend, another boy of the Careers. She killed the boy first, making sure the girl knew how it felt to lose someone you love. Then, she gave the Capitol a show they wouldn’t forget - she mercilessly killed the Capitol favorite in the slowest and most painful way possible.
Some say revenge changed her. She can’t help but agree.
★Strengths: Jaz is legendary with a sword, and her strength itself is exceptional. She’s always had intelligence, and her speed is something she’s proud of. Remus’ death only made her stronger, so if the Capitol is looking to break her with his memory, she’s in luck; she doubts their plans with Remus will work.
★Weaknesses: Her intelligence has fallen into hiding beneath the layer of what seems to be almost insanity at the edges of her mind. She enjoys a show - especially when it comes to killing - which may take her off her guard or slow her down. While Remus may not be a sensitive subject, deep down she cares about her district immensely. District Six is her home, and she’ll protect it and those inside of it to her last breath; perhaps, it’s one her largest weaknesses.
★Other: For her token, Jaz is taking what Remus took last time: a tiny wooden horse figurine that is smaller than her palm. It’s something he inherited from his father, and when he died, the family gave it to her. She knows his memory will keep her strong, and it’s only better if she plays the Games as she did last time- for revenge (and Remus).
