★Name: Evelyn Grey (Ehv-uh-lihn Gray)

★Age: 44

★District: Originally from Twelve, although she lived in Two for the twenty four years after she won. She's recently moved back to Twelve. 

★Physical Appearance: There are still traces of the girl who won the Games twenty six years ago, but those are few and far between. She's still tall, with the same brown eyes, the same dark skin, and the same near-black hair. Those are only the things she can't change, though. Nearly everything about her appearance that can change has. Her hair is cut much shorter, in what would be a bob if she could be bothered to take care of it. Thanks to her wealth, she's also gained some weight, to the point of being healthy. Her features have also hardened, matured somewhat over the years. She's still beautiful, but certainly as a woman now, no longer as a girl. 

★Personality: Her stubbornness and her determination are still Evelyn's two most defining features, she would say they've been the only thing that kept her alive. Regardless of the obstacles that stand in her way, if she sets her mind to do something, she's going to do it. She doesn't have to be as resourceful as she did as a teenager, but her determination to not let the Games define her life certainly helped her raise her children in a somewhat normal fashion. 

Motherhood has brought out an almost entirely different to Evelyn. She's more selfless, especially willing to sacrifice for her two children. Although she still isn't entirely vulnerable with people, she learned how to be more gentle and open about her emotions. Still, her anger can be volatile, especially surrounding mentions of her or her daughter's Games, and everybody around Evelyn knows to steer clear of those subjects. 

★Past: Before she entered into the Games, Evelyn belonged to a somewhat average Seam family. Her father was a coal miner, and her mother died giving birth to her only brother Asher. To supplement their family's income, Evelyn prostituted herself, especially towards Peacekeepers. She eventually fell in love with, and was impregnated by, one of these Peacekeepers, a man from Two named Onyx. 

After she was Reaped, though, the Capitol forced her to have an abortion. Her District Partner, a boy named Staiger, comforted her but killed himself rather than face the Games. Evelyn went through the Games almost alone after his death, surviving mostly by hiding and waiting for the other tributes to die. At one point, she was forced into an alliance with a twelve year old girl from Ten named Starling. When Evelyn was poisoned at a feast, Starling gave her medicine. The two survived until the top three, when Evelyn killed Starling then the girl from Four to win. 

Life didn't manage to improve much after the Games. Her father died in a suspicious mining accident, and when Onyx subsequently proposed, she relocated to Two with her brother. To avoid being prostituted by the Capitol, Evelyn became pregnant with her first child, a boy named Staiger. Five years later, she had her daughter, Starling. Staiger decided to follow his father's footsteps and became a Peacekeeper, while Starling became a Career. When she turned eighteen, she volunteered, only to be killed in the top two by a girl from Twelve - the girl Evelyn had mentored. 

Unable to deal properly with her daughter's death, Evelyn attempted suicide. She then moved back to Twelve, divorcing Onyx when he refused to follow her back. For the past year now, she's lived alone, only leaving her house when she absolutely has to. Her younger brother Asher's support has helped, but she's still deeply depressed. She volunteered for these Games to try and keep younger Victors, and those who are less damaged than she is from going in. 

★Strengths:

Determination - Evelyn survived both an earthquake and a tempest in her Games simply because she didn't want the Gamemakers to be the ones to kill her. She's going into these Games with the same resolve. 

Beauty - After she won, she was touted as Panem's newest sex symbol. She's older now, but newly single, and may still be able to win over a sponsor by looks alone. 

Experience - She's watched twenty five years of Games, and was even asked to help train Two's tributes. Evelyn knows what mistakes to avoid in the Games, and what she has to do to win. 

★Weaknesses:

Rashness - Many of Evelyn's decisions, from her suicide attempt to her volunteering, are made too quickly without proper consideration. In her Games, she almost died because she set out a metal canteen to collect water during the tempest, which hit her in the head. 

Instability - Normally, it would be almost impossible to manipulate Evelyn emotionally. She's at a weak point following her daughter's death, though, and this is a huge chink in her armor. 

Age - Evelyn simply isn't as young, strong, and resilient as she used to be. She isn't fragile, but she could definitely be overpowered by a tribute who's in their prime.
