The Victors of the 102nd Annual Hunger Games
So we've decided our winners, and it was hard, and sometimes down the line, brutal. These two tributes surprised us all in the end. They may have been classified as Careers coming from District One and Two, but that's not the full extent that these two wonderful writers accomplished. Anyone willing to stick around almost three months is considered highly valuable to us.
AMELIA MONTAIGNE - There was so much about you that I was excited for, and you TessRebellious really pulled through when I had least expected it. Your last tributes that you had used during the previous games, Retribution, really showed how you relayed back to your earlier errors and corrected them as needed. You're writing has improved immensely, and so has your inner character monologue and the depths you chose to carry them through. We know that these tasks aren't easy, and are set up for you to take it in different ways as you approach it. There wasn't a single task that you didn't put your hardest in, and for that, we respect you. Everyone here knows how hard it can be to follow a deadline, and in our weakest of moments don't even want to write. Amazing job.
DANELIEUX DE LEON - Wow, there's so much that I would like to tell you, but we have so little time. To know that you worked hard for this, and didn't give up halfway through says a lot. almostkarla after the incident in Retribution that caused you to loose your place, it makes me wonder now how far you would have continued on with Bellona. Now here were are, standing at the end with Danel in tow. Like Tess, you really took the cake in working hard and establishing moodlets for your character. We love to see extended emotions towards the characters, and when those connections are established, it really highlights on your work. Congratulations once again for making it as far as you did, and in the end, it all paid off in the wins.
Now to my least favorite part... The deaths. Please note that although some of you chose to kill you're tributes of in their last entries, I'd like to exploit them a bit more and give final rankings.
AMANI ALURAI - District Four
Second Place
There wasn't anything more that could have been done to stop her end from approaching. Although she took things farther, through tears and outlasted rage at times, she followed through everything like the complete and utter soldier she was. There wasn't a time this tribute stood at the brink of death and didn't show fear, and that's what made her human. She said everything how it was, and wasn't afraid to show up the Gamemakers on their own turf. When it came to being only three left in the arena, everyone held their breaths throughout the Capitol, and the Districts as they united as one to pray that whoever was going to be the last death, went without pain. So that's what happened, when her life was taken from the broken girl, a soft smile set on her face as the cannon rang out, and the wailing begun for all those who loved her dearly, and will hold her deep within their hearts.
Amani was a beginning.
NERI RAVENNA - District Six
Third Place
When it was her time to go, many didn't understand how such a lofty woman who had entered the arena, would leave in tattered clothes and a guilt to them like never before. The pure idea of killing never belonged to such an innocent girl. The light that lit her eyes, sparkled through the mischief ,had become a dulled nothing. The emotionless facade she held at times, did nothing to stop those around her from realizing just how serious everything was. As the bubble popped, so came the reality of making it to the final four. She knew from the start she wouldn't make it, even if it took lying to herself to recognize that this was her last heroic deed that she could do for her people, and for her friends. Months she'd been held captured in the arena. Friends came and went, allies stayed close, and each death became more frustrating than the last. She forfeited her time, to save a life that was just as hopeless as hers.
Neri was a savior.
