Although this is only the first death round, Tender, Andrea and I all had difficulties coming to a final decision. For some, it was because we want to see them grow as authors and improve their works. Others just didn't deserve to be on the chopping block so early on in the games. 

It's always hard to be in the first round out, so for that. I'll keep my troubling deaths to a minimum as last games there were complaints made about their brutal deaths.

Capitol Female - Lavender Stone

Lavender went through the arena kicking hard. She had just got her ends retouched and had her stylist braid her hair back into a tight knot that was a staple for the Capitol's people. Ready to set an example, and bring honor to her home, Lavender underestimated the Game Makers and wasn't prepared for what was to come. During the struggle to escape the waters. Corradhin was already out and ready. Coming from district four, he had the kick of a swimmer and glided easily towards her flustered form. She ended up dying at the hands of a trident being pierced through her shoulder blades and puncturing her heart. 

District 6 Male - Arthur Penn

He lasted strongly and died with his last fighting moves. Many people in the Capitol were surprised to see this tribute go so soon. Fighting hard, the battle was lost as he couldn't manage to get out of the case quick enough, making him lightheaded and dizzy. In the end, he was still half unconscious when he finally managed to pull himself out. During the exhilarating swim, the rough currents were too much for him. Arthur was a lost cause from the moment he was swept into the waters. After realizing, and coming to terms with this, he let go in his final moments to make sure they were spent suffering. His allies retrieved his floating body but only came back with glazed eyes and purple lips. 

District 8 Female - Mizzy Haze

She went into the games with a strong head and brute shoulders held high. There were many things that came from this girl that many never expected from her outgoing persona. She was brave and courageous so when she was found wrecked on the cavern floor with a spear lodged up her spine, no one knew what to think. Although she wasn't done quite yet. She stayed alive for a few more hours, paralyzed from the waste down, her fellow tributes claimed her for dead. Rolling her body back into the water, she couldn't swim to the surface and admittedly drowned seconds later. 

District 8 Male - Ned Leanthred 

Unlike his fellow tribute from his home, Ned lasted longer than the initial bloodbath and made it  to the night. During that time, he managed to snag a few necessities including a loaf of bread that the Game Makers had put rat poisoning in. When taking a first bite after a night of starvation, Ned thought nothing of its peculiar taste, claiming it to be from the withdraw of exotic foods. After scarfing it down in only minutes, the poison soon took affect while he was vulnerable and sleeping. Dying in his sleep, he got one last luxury that many did not. Painless.
