👻Task Two: Ethically Ambiguous👻

Life waited for Death as he finished watching all of the deaths of the contestants. It wasn't as though he hadn't seen them before, but apparently, after a few thousands of years, things became harder to keep up with. She already knew who she would give help to, though he was always one to keep her waiting. It was his decision to start all of this and yet he'd wait until the last minute before he did anything.

"Well?" she asked, touching him gently on the shoulder. "Are you finally finished?"

"I might be."

"I'd like to give help to Sukio, she appears to be someone who didn't truly live a life on earth. I would like to see her live again, perhaps," Life said. She had a soft spot for those who died out of their control, and for those who had more to live for. Someone who never really had a life, just the same thing over and over? She sighed, knowing that no matter who she chose it wouldn't truly mean anything. One choice over another doesn't define who wins. It never had.

"I think it's time to up the ante a little, don't you think?" Death grinned. "Let's give them some choices."

Life and Death have decided to start it easy for everyone. All you have to do is have a moral dilemma! That's pretty easy, right? Except, here's the case: Your character can't have an easy choice. They must choose between their life--their ability to regain their life, that is--and giving away their spot to another who they believe is worthy of living more so than they are. Basically, you have to create a character whose reason for living rivals that of your original tribute here. You cannot cheat and make it easy for your character by having their reason too good or not good enough at all. It needs to be a true challenge for your character.

There's no secret twist or anything. If you choose for the other person to live, that's totally fine and does not disqualify you! In fact, you may win the favor of Life if you do that. However, if you do that, you will automatically lose the favor of Death. So now, you have to decide whether you favor Life or Death, and which person you'd rather have your back in the tasks to come. At the bottom of your entry, please include which choice you have taken.

How you want this challenge to go about, and whether or not you add more to the challenge or simply leave it at the choice is up to you! We are looking for your creativity in design and plot in this task and we know you'll come through with something great. Does your character have to kill the other person if they want to get through? Sure, go for it! Does your character have to symbolically or otherwise hurt themselves in order to get through, waking up to realize that they didn't actually die again or anything? Do whatever works best for your character. This is a very free reign task.
