18. District 6 Female: Kia Whidbee

An unlucky tribute who didn't grab a mask at the bloodbath, fleeing before she could fetch one from the soon-to-be fallen, Kia Whidbee had no protection from the fumes of the gas chasing her throughout the hospital. Though she'd always had great control over her emotions and didn't panic, focusing only on her breathing and continuing to run, she simply couldn't outrun it. Without a mask, the toxins Kia breathed in were too much for the parts of her brain the gas was designed to alter, and she died with the first breath. Her four siblings grieved, but were glad it was painless.

17. District 1 Male: Paris De La Cruz

When the gas hit Paris De La Cruz, his inner personality of a timid, soft-hearted boy swapped places with the charismatic, flirtatious man. This side of the boy from District 1 would not hurt a fly. Intent on showing the world all his kindness, Paris didn't fight back when another tribute, suddenly bloodthirsty, leapt upon him and began to beat him up. Although he was perfectly capable of defending himself, the boy decided that if his death would allow the survival of another, he would embrace that. Many in his home district disapproved of his choice, but Paris passed away peaceful and content.

16. District 9 Female: Pimbep Cottage

Pimbep Cottage of District 9 had always looked out for herself before anyone else- it'd been quite obvious when she ran away from her brother at the bloodbath, prioritizing her own safety. When she saw Kaleo's face flash in the sky while making her way towards the hospital, Pimbep reasoned that she would have lost her life, as well, had she stayed. But when the toxins in the gas infected her mind, that was a different story. Overcome with all the emotions she had pushed away, Pimbep couldn't handle the grief the gas created within her, ultimately deciding to join Kaleo in death.
