Character Form: Sheng Li
Username: Several7s
Name: Sheng Li- The Mire Alchemist
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance: His hair is black and he keeps it neatly combed back. He wears glasses and has dark brown eyes- like chocolate. His outfits are casual and he wears a lot of hoodies so he can hide his face if he needs to. He's about five and a half feet tall and has alchemy circles tattooed on the inside of his palms so doesn't always have to draw them.
Backstory: His father was the emperor of Xing and his mother the daughter of the Li tribe leader. Sheng was raised in the palace, mostly by his mother, who taught him Alkehestry. He learned Alchemy from books during that time and took to it better than Alkehestry. His knowledge was limited and his use sloppy, but he got the hang of the basics pretty quickly. Around the time he turned twelve, his mother became sick. Shortly before she died, she gave him a stone with an alchemy circle carved into it. She never told him where it came from, but the circle allowed him to transmute water and he began to master that element as well as the stone alchemy he was already learning. He only stayed in the castle a year after his mother died. He never felt like he belonged and it was always too close to some of his siblings for him to feel comfortable sticking around long. He spent several years wandering Xing on his own, despite his young age. Eventually, there was an event back at home and he felt obligated to go. Three days after he arrived, someone attempted to murder the emperor and all of his siblings pinned it on him. No one believed he was innocent, so he was forced to leave Xing and go to Amestris. Similar events have plagued his life ever since. Somehow, he always ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and he's had at least six different murders pinned on him, along with a bunch of other crimes. Because of his "criminal record", he's constantly hunted by people in Amestris and Xing. He spends his days in hiding, learning as much about alchemy as he can. His knowledge of water and stone alchemy improved vastly since he escaped to Amestris, but he knows he would do better with a teacher instead of just books. Unfortunately, no one would teach someone they believe is a serial killer.
Personality: Sheng is just an innocent guy with a knack for finding trouble. He doesn't like hurting people, but he's stopped trying to help them because every time he does, it goes horribly wrong. He's used to being alone and blending in with a crowd. He's always wondered if when his siblings blamed him for the attempted murder of their father, they also cursed him somehow. He loves animals and has a little orange cat that has followed him around ever since he rescued it from an alley. When it comes to angering him, there isn't a whole lot that really pushes his buttons. He's calm and collected, loves to learn, and doesn't much care if you insult him or not. He learned long ago that other people's opinions of him would be shaped according to the fact that he came from Xing and he always expects mistrust because of it.
Magic/Powers: He uses water and stone alchemy.
Weapon Of Choice: His alchemy, although he uses stone alchemy more often, since he can't use water alchemy without water nearby. He fights with martial arts as well.
Strengths: He has become quite skilled in alchemy. He's also good at martial arts. Hiding, too, is one of his strong suits. He had to learn to disappear from anywhere in order to escape the authorities. He also has perfect recall, which is extremely helpful when he's studying alchemy.
Weaknesses: Trouble finds him or he finds it. Either way, things don't ever seem to go quite right in his life. Most of the time it isn't his fault, which makes it worse. He often has to live on one meal a day, since he can't exactly get a job and refuses to steal unless he absolutely has too, so he's a bit malnourished. He doesn't know how to react when he's placed in a situation with a lot of people who are trying to interact with him. He's spent so long on his own that most of his conversations consist of arguments for why he couldn't possibly have killed the person whose murder is being pinned on him.
Captured: He snuck into a library to find more books on alchemy. When he left, he took a shortcut down an abandoned alley and yes, he witnessed ANOTHER murder. The killer threw the knife out and ran off, disappearing just as another civilian walked in on the scene. Sheng ran off before the authorities got there and found an abandoned warehouse to hang out in. He was working on his kung-fu skills when a bunch of state-alchemists burst in. Things didn't exactly go how the other alchemists planned, though, because as soon as they began their attack, a portal appeared beneath Sheng and he disappeared. Guess he catches a lucky break every once and a while.
Greatest Fear: He fears that one day, his bad luck will get him killed and there will be no one to remember him. He doesn't want to be remembered for killing people, especially since he didn't. But more than that, he just doesn't want to die alone with no one to care.
Insecurities: He's very insecure about his status in life. Being accused of multiple crimes he never actually commited has caused him to wonder if anyone could actually care about him. He has begun to believe that he really use just a good-for-nothing criminal. In some of his darker moments, he has considered turning himself in and confessing to all of those crimes. He always reminds himself that he didn't do it and tells himself that if he holds on long enough, the real criminal will be caught. So far, that hasn't happened.
Loved Ones: His sister and brother, Mei Chang and Ling Yao. They're the only two people who don't believe he's a killer. While they don't spend a lot of time together, Mei and Ling help him out when they can.
Realm They're From: Xing
Fandom They're From: Fullmetal Alchemist
Token: A round, flat stone that fits in the palm of his. It has an alchemy circle written on it. He has it memorized and could probably draw it with his eyes closed, but he keeps the stone anyway because it's the last thing his mother gave him.
Anything Else: If you feel like the conversation is getting one-sided, it's probably because Sheng can't think of anything to say and has no clue how to answer you. Or he's been ignoring you. It's hard to tell sometimes.
