Character Form: Qethsegul - deceased
Username: Several7s
Name: Qethsegul
Age: around 44,000
Gender: Male
Appearance: He has dark purple scales, almost black, that almost seem to glow during storms. His golden eyes shine like fire and he has completely black horns on his head. His wings are enormous and if you shine light on them, it'll go through.
Backstory: Qethsegul doesn't remember much of his younger years. They were swallowed up in a haze of fiery destruction and ruthless killing. Eventually, however, he began to question his desire to destroy things. It didn't truly bring him pleasure- he just couldn't quell the urge to do it. There was something deep within him that needed to dominate those who were weaker than him. Qethsegul didn't like this. He wanted to be completely in control of himself. He wanted to be able to choose destruction, if he so wished, rather than being compelled into it by his nature. He spent years struggling with this question, searching for an answer to his question. Then he found Paathurnax, who taught him the Way of the Voice. After that, he spent years in long meditation, slowly quelling the urge to destroy. When he finally had control of himself, he began a new quest- a quest to find something in life that way truly worth doing. He didn't find something worth doing, but rather someone worth protecting. Quite unexpectedly, he happened upon a child. Or, rather, a child was left near his home. Just a young thing, barely three. Qethsegul considered turning her away and sending her back to the humans, where she belonged. Something about the way she clung to him, fearless, made him reconsider. He decided to raise the child and did just that. His quest to find something worth doing was put on hold, as caring for a child was more difficult than he imagined. He called the girl Strundu'ul, meaning Stormcrown, because he found her in a storm, just as it was getting to its strongest. Strundu'ul was raised a warrior, but Qethsegul made sure she understood the importance of control. She could make her own choices about being destructive or not, but he made certain she knew that it was always her choice and no one else's. He also taught her the dragon language and words of power. She picked up both impossibly quickly, which confirmed what Qethsegul had sensed before- she was dragonborn. He decided not to tell her, though- she would find out if she absorbed a dragon soul and if she did not find out that way, then he saw no reason to tell her. Years pass quickly for a dragon, and it wasn't long before Strundu'ul was nearing twenty. All she'd known was the mountain and Qethsegul. When she informed him that she was going to visit the humans and learn more about her own kind. He agreed and she left him, promising to come back after a year. He spent that year on his quest to find meaning in his life, never realizing that he already had found meaning in raising Strundu'ul and in protecting others.
Personality: One might assume, upon meeting him, that he is just like all of the other dragons. His appearance is certainly no less intimidating. If you had met him before his years of meditation, all of that would be true. After so long quelling his urge to destroy, however, he looks at life differently. He is constantly trying to find meaning to his life- something to make it worth living. However, he can be a bit clueless when it comes to realizing he's already found that. He just wants something more from life, but he doesn't know what quite yet. He's not one to force others to believe what he does. Instead he believes that if someone is going to do something, it should be because they choose it of their own free will. He spent most of his life ruled by blind instinct and likes to help others avoid that. He isn't overprotective by any means- Strundu'ul had her fair share of misshaps that he allowed her to fix for herself- but he will keep people safe, if they cannot protect themselves. Especially if it's someone he loves. It's not easy to anger him, but if you hurt someone he loves, you can bet your death will be slow and painful. He has no problem with that.
Magic/Powers: He can shoot fire and fly. Plus he can, of course, use Thu'um.
Weapon of Choice: I mean, does he really need one? He's a dragon, after all... he can just swoop down on his enemies and claw them to pieces. Or roast them, if he wants.
Strengths: Well... again, he's a dragon. He's got armored scales, the ability to fly, the list goes on. Take your pick.
Weaknesses: No one is invulnerable, Qethsegul included. He isn't a small dragon, so going places that aren't open and that don't allow him room to fly severely constricts him. He also probably lets things go too far when it comes to allowing people- namely Strundu'ul- sort things out on their own. He might be smart, but he's not good at judging how much a person can take before he should intervene. He just can't understand how humans can have such weak skin and such short lives. It baffles him, really, why they were ever created that way. He can't carry delicate things... or be around them. His tendancy to break things like glass, ceramics, basically anything that can break, makes it hard for Strundu'ul to bring anything small and breakable near him. While he does admire art and such, he's too good at ruining it to get close.
Captured: It's hard to capture a dragon- especially one like Qethsegul, who is in full control of himself and knows exactly how to get out of trouble. However, he didn't have much of a choice in this case. The Unseelie King's bodyguards informed him of their success in kidnapping Strundu'ul. They said he could have her back, but only if he followed them through a portal to another realm. Though Qethsegul did trust Strundu'ul to get out of her own messes in most cases, he didn't trust the fae not to kill her if he didn't do as they asked. In this case, he decided it would be wise to comply.
Greatest Fear: That he will lose control again some day and go back to the rampaging beast he was before.
Insecurities: He hates the side of him that craves only destruction and madness. It's the worst side of him and he hates it.
Loved Ones: Strundu'ul
Realm They're From: Akavir
Fandom They're From: Skyrim
Token: Like I mentioned earlier- he breaks things very easily. He does have a small S painted on one of the scales on his stomach, however. Strundu'ul put it there as a promise that she would return.
Anything Else: Just don't make him angry, okay? This is not a poking the bear situation- that situation is actually survivable.
