Western Male 3: Artemis Leiß

Your Wattpad Name: Lijah99

Character Name: Artemis Leiß

Reserved Gender: Male

Reserved State: Western

Age: 14

Physical Description: Noticed at the first glance is Artie's very fair, pale skin which starkly contrasts with his bold, blue eyes and short hair which in direct light, appears dark brown. He is relatively tall for being just over 14, barely scraping 5'9" (176 cm), and has a quite slim build, assisting in agility but this leaves him weaker than most.

Personality: Artie is in all ways, a shut in, he rarely talks to those he knows little about. He is very independent-minded, and he spends most of his free-time exploring various natural environments, particularly forests. This solitary lifestyle leads to his lack of socialization with others and an absence of emotional connections to those that he meets. It also leads to his great deal of patience in most situations that require it, making him rarely get frustrated as well. However, under his veil of apathy, Artie tries to be completely aware of everyone that succeeds to gain his trust and friendship, doing anything he can to ensure their safety and well-being. . . Since he has very few friends, he dedicates his willpower to keeping those that he's made.

Family: Concerning family, there isn't much to discuss. Artie is a twin child of Rainer, who had died of starvation during a local drought at the age of 8. This is partly to blame for Artie's slim frame. He had never really known his father because he had left shortly before Artie's mother gave birth. This family being supported by a single mother of two children, then later one, coupled with a famine to boot, left the Leiß family very poor and completely without a stable structure. All of which could easily explain Artie's solitary tendencies.

Reason for Volunteering: Because of the waning presence of family in Artie's life, his independent persona, and the dire situation on his home-front, he was happy to volunteer for the proposed experiment. His mother, although desperate not to lose another family member, had realized that this was a chance for her remaining son to rise from the ashes that was their financial situation. . . Artie was determined to rewrite his destiny with this opportunity.

Weapon Preference: Having been one with his local forests, which were quite dense, Artemis had adjusted to close-quarters environments, so any short-ranged melee weapon would be suitable. However, due to his knowledge of the lands about him, he would use whatever the surroundings could provide, be it a rock, stick, herbs, etc.

Weaknesses: His slim, lengthy build leaves Artie quite weak in comparison to others. His lack of emotional expression and open communication makes him practically unapproachable unless one grabs his attention with something he's heavily invested in or one was to miraculously shimmy their way into his real of friendship/compassion. He also tends to place himself over others unless they special to him or happen to be vital to his survival, making him hard to trust in dire situations.

Strengths: Despite being skinny/weak, he has tuned his body to handle long sprints and bouts of climbing and jumping, primarily due to his time in the forests. His vision is sharp and precise when looking for anything that can assist in a sticky situation or just needs to be found, since Artie's eyes have been trained to search the underbrush of an untamed and untouched woodland. Finally, his independence throughout most of his life has taught him to think for himself, his mind is suited to solving his own problems and ensuring his safety.

"You aren't an average kid. You have some interesting strengths for someone so skinny and underfed, and I admire your ability to think for yourself and solve your own problems. Not everyone can and finding those who do can be rare." -Arianna Storm

"I look forward to seeing how you rise in the lab. Your independent and reclusive nature intrigues me. You're place in life gives you a meaningful motive that will carry you through the hard times. Just don't distance yourself from others altogether. You may need them to achieve your goals." -Greg Coleman
