"You've all chosen favorites, haven't you?" Arianna asked.

Greg and Elliot shifted uncomfortably before nodding. Liali didn't bother to be nervous about Arianna's reaction, though, because she already knew that Arianna didn't mind. It was inevitable for them to like someone. After all, they were a bunch of kids and a lot of them were hard not to like. And Liali knew for a fact that Arianna had a favorite of her own among the bunch.

"I suppose it was inevitable, wasn't it?" she sighed dramatically. "But it's all right. Even I couldn't help but pick a favorite this time."

Greg met her eyes. "I want to help them through the trial. Give them something special to help them survive. After their performance in our first test they deserve it. They're smart and capable, despite their younger ages, and they might need help in the next tests. Especially as things get more dangerous."

Liali looked at Arianna. "Could we, Ari?" she asked.

"It could ruin the whole experiment!" Arianna protested. "This has to work perfectly or else we'll end up with inconclusive results."

"It would just be little things" Elliot put in. "If we do it carefully then we can make sure that our help won't affect things too much then it might enhance the experiment. The rest of them can be a control group while the four we choose to help will be our special group of test subjects."

Arianna considered that for a moment before relenting. The idea had merit and it did have the potential to enhance the experiment. "Okay, but we'll have to work on the tests to modify them due to the changes."

Liali pumped her fist in the air. "Yes!"
