Welcome to Author Games: Dungeon Brawl! Here is what you need to know to get started:

-King Charles IX needs the dungeon under the main city--a large, cavernous area that's full of hidden rooms, monsters, and riches--cleaned out so it can be used again in case of war. This area is extremely dangerous and all who have been sent to clean it out previously have died horrific deaths.

-The setting for this story is 'vaguely European' but that doesn't mean it's a hard requirement. If you want your setting in ancient China, medieval Africa, etc etc, go right ahead! I encourage you to come up with your own backstories and kingdom information, including customs, religion, magic usage, etc. As long as you do the task, and hopefully, keep the king's and kingdom's name the same, I'm pretty easygoing. I want y'all to be as creative as you can and not be restrained.

-Reminder: Nuhan Kingdom. King Charles IX. Cleaning out the dungeon underneath the kingdom's main city. You can change the guard's names as needed but I rather like the ones I got. There's no set city name, it's just going to be called Nuhan Capitol by me. 

- In a series of challenges, each one harder than the last, your character will try to complete each series of dungeon tasks (killing monsters, unlocking locked doors, etc) and you'll have to collect a total of six scrolls hidden around the dungeon in order to win the title of The Kings Hero.

-This competition will revolve around twelve to sixteen heroes participating in these trials. Due to this, we will have six tasks in total. Each task will get at least 7 days for you to write it, and then will take between 24 and 48 hours for scores and voting to go up. Please give me time to grade each entry so that way I can be sure each of you are getting the attention your entry deserves. Your entries will be up in chapters here for everyone to read in the meantime.

-Read each other's entries. It's not required, but if you read them all and leave at least one comment on each person's task, you'll receive an extra ballot point.

-We will have a ballot system for these games. This will not remove points from your entry if you are balloted, but you will receive certain challenges to include in your next entry. Challenges might include:

500 less words, having to include a certain word in your entry x amount of times, having to include a certain parameter/monster/challenge your character must face, removing your ability to use a certain word, etc. These challenges are required and if you don't complete them, you will lose one point on your task.

-You will have the ability to ask for extensions but unless you have a really good reason (sick, death, etc) it might be denied.

-Your characters can be any race you want and can have any powers/magic/weapons you want--granted, please try to not make your character super overpowered. It's just not fun if they are. If you're worried about it, message us and we can talk about what you want to do.

-Your characters can group with anyone they want, but only one person can earn the title. So if you've got a group dynamic, be prepared for that at the end.

-If you are grouped with another competitor, you cannot have the exact same entries. Don't make me question who's doing all the work coming up with ideas. If you both come up with dialogue or plot points and wanted to use them, send me a private message with proof of your conversation and get it approved before you just send it in.

-Reservations will open Wednesday, March 1st at 12 PM (Noon) CST.
