Special Awards
The "Jaqen H'ghar" Award for: Best Form
This award goes to someone who we knew from the get-go was going to be a tough player and performed very well throughout the competition. Although she didn't stay with us long, this award goes to:
Sancta Nampeyo [ShayTree]
The "No One" Award for: Best Name
Of course, this award goes to someone with an outstanding name but it also goes to someone who managed to use their name and their character to remain undetected through the majority of the competition. This award goes to:
Cassius Dandylock [CrocodileRocker]
The "Stroll" Award for: Dark Horse
This is an author we've been extremely excited to see every time they join us and one that continues to do well even in the face of great odds. For creating a memorable and incredible character and making it exceptionally far, this award goes to:
Constance Softeyes [dragon_mind]
The "We Don't Talk About This Death" Award for: Reverse Dark Horse
It's always hard to see good characters go too soon. But sometimes things happen and we have to let go of favorites long before we were ready to. This award goes to:
Charlotte Blackwood [luckyvirgo]
The "Ramsay" Award for: Best Use of an Automatic Score
This is our newest and most favorite addition to our awards lineup. Although automatic scores are often a treat because of their humor and their tendency to lack any sense of grammar, this one created quite a controversy that we had more than a good time stirring up rumors about. This award goes unanimously to:
Tedric North [aceh3x], for the following entry:
"Due to the graphic nature of the entry submitted, we are unable to post it. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
The "Bear Queen" Award for: Best Side Character
The only thing better than a memorable main character is creating equally memorable and amazing supporting characters. So, for all their hard work, we have decided to give this award to:
Constance Softeyes [dragon_mind]
The "Dragon" Award for: Best Characterization
We love seeing characters evolve and grow and getting to be a part of the changes that happen to them. When we can really feel their emotions and their conflict, it stays with us long after the competition is over. In this case, we had one character who felt so lifelike we had to give her this without question. This award goes to:
Meric Ophelen [HannahFare]
The "Lord of Light" Award for: Most Revivals
This award goes to a character who joined our previous competition, A Knight's Valor and was forced to drop out because of various reasons. They rejoined us again for A Prince's War before yet again being pulled away, only to be revived for a later task. So, for the most frequent occurrence of the same character by the same author, this award goes to:
Vere Lebriole/Lennox [ShayTree]
The "Mistake" Award for: Most Targeted
In this competition, you were given the option to not only ballot your fellow players but also to point the blame for the extra challenges at them. One author, in particular, received a vast majority of this suspicion and we're still not quite sure if they did it on purpose or not. But, for being the most targeted player, this award goes to:
Andrea Novak and Tedric North [aceh3x]
The "Children of the Forest" Award for: Worldbuilding
The one thing we love most of all is when our players interact with the world that we have created for them and add to the experience and the stories they can tell. Adding deities or rituals, as well as traditions or any sense of worldbuilding really lets us know that you're enjoying yourself and ultimately that's what we strive for above all else. So, for excellent world building, this award goes to:
Shahin Hashemi [TheCatKing]
The "Boogie-Woogie Man" Award for: Being a Part of Our Games!
Thank you all for participating in Author Games: A Prince's War! That's all the special awards for now, but the results you've all been waiting for should be up soon so hopefully, it'll be worth the wait! We hope you had a fantastic time with us and that you'll join us again soon. If you have any suggestions or advice on how we can run things more smoothly or changes we could make for the future, please feel free to let us know! We look forward to seeing you in our next competiton— Author Games: Breath of Life.
