introduction

deos aureos et argenteos
- gods of gold and silver -

blurb

″Uh, let me get this straight,″ said Mena, processing the absurd tale the alleged prince and princess had just told him as he fought to tear his gaze from Aurum′s bare, chiselled chest. ″You′re siblings —″

″Twins,″ Aurum reinstated, despite bearing no resemblance to his sister apart from their piercing features. Aurum stood almost a foot taller than Argentum. His olive skin glistened under the sun like a bronze statue, golden blond curls falling across his face like streaks of sunlight peeking through blinds. He looked nothing like the fair, silver-haired maiden beside him, and though Argentum was perhaps the most beautiful girl Mena had ever seen, his gaze remained locked on her brother.

″Right. You′re being followed?″

″Hunted,″ Argentum chimed in. ″The warlord who seized our palace and set fire to our planet is in search of an ancient relic.″

″And this relic ...″ All this would be a lot easier to dismiss if he had not witnessed their spaceship crash just minutes ago. ″You have it?″

The twins nodded. ″The Hearth of Aquilon is the last hope for our people,″ Argentum explained. ″It must be kept safe, no matter the cost.″

″So,″ said Aurum, tugging at the straps of Mena′s overalls to pull the farmhand close enough to feel his hot breath against his neck; be it a threat or a plea for help, Mena could not tell, ″unless the people of Earth have a spaceship to send us off into space ... he′s coming here.″
