genre: fluff 🥺
warnings: none

Katsuki Bakugou was an explosive person, in both literal and figurative means (the literal sense, of course, being his Quirk). He was extremely short-tempered, frequently yelling at people and picking fights. He also strongly believed that he didn't need anyone's help or company, so he spent most of his time training and studying in solitude.
To people who knew him personally, it would be unthinkable that a boy so immensely prideful, angry, and closed-off could possibly have a hobby like this. But Bakugou's heart was softer than it seemed.
"Tch. Why didn't she just hide the letters better...?"
Bakugou lay on his stomach, head propped up by his arms, crimson gaze directed at his laptop screen in annoyance, but also vague interest. Once in a while, he'd comment on the movie's stupidity (or intrigue), simply for his own entertainment.
The movie was an American romantic comedy, and it wasn't unusual for Bakugou to be watching these sorts of things in his free time. Though he would never admit it, there was a certain appeal he found in the horribly cliché films. This one was called To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and so far, Bakugou liked it much better than Twilight. It was surprising, since most rom-coms on Netflix were awful.
And if anyone found out about this, Bakugou would murder them in two seconds flat.
As if on cue to that thought, his dorm room door opened.
"OI! Do you knock — ?!" Bakugou panicked, furtively moving to pause the movie, and glaring up at the person.
Kirishima offered a sheepish grin. "Sorry, Bakugou! I did knock, but you didn't —" He frowned, noting his friend's oddly flustered face. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing," Bakugou grunted, averting his eyes. "Now what do you want?"
But Kirishima had already made his way over to the bed, catching a glimpse of the scene the movie had paused on. His eyebrows shot up, and he started to laugh. "Bakugou, is that a rom-com?"
"Shut up!" Bakugou snapped, his face hot. "If you tell anyone about this, I swear I'll —"
"It's cool, Bakugou!" Kirishima said with a smile, his pointed teeth glinting slightly. "I wouldn't say anything." A snicker burst from his lips again. "But I seriously can't believe — I mean, you —"
"Oi, shut up, everyone can hear you!" Bakugou cut in. Truth be told, he didn't care that Kirishima knew — as long as it was only Kirishima.
"Hey, is it in English?" Kirishima bent down to see the screen better. "Woah, you're broadening your horizons! That's so manly!"
Bakugou rolled his eyes.
"So, can I watch with you?"
The question startled Bakugou, and he blinked at Kirishima a few times. He looked so earnest, it was impossible to say no — even for Bakugou. "Sure, whatever," the blonde boy mumbled, trying to sound indifferent. He shifted on the bed to make room, and Kirishima plopped down beside him. Their bodies were pressed close, since the bed was rather small and they had to share the earbuds, but Bakugou didn't mind it. In fact, he liked it. Kirishima's gentle warmth and the sound of his breathing was comforting, somehow.
As they watched the movie, Bakugou had to admit that being accompanied by Kirishima was a lot more fun than watching by himself. Kirishima's commentary was amusing, and his laughter almost made Bakugou want to smile, too.
Maybe he didn't have to do everything alone.
