Chapter - 11
Lost Memories, A Secret
Park Namjoon's POV
I was relaxing on the patio listening to the whole conversation between Jin and Jungkook.
That made me wonder.
Raylene.
Raylene lost her memories.
How?
There's something I'm missing in this whole situation. It seems too meticulous to be true. Smoothly covered patches but that's the main flaw.
I would be naive to believe the whole ordeal related to Raylene's memories as truth.
I teleport back to my study as I open a book and started writing everything that's happened from when we landed in the 21st Century.
Yes, Jin lost control over the time travelling and now we need to find a way back. But that wasn't my concern.
Even if Raylene had somehow gained Cheriko Ray's memories, it must have become an infinite loop of confusion.
How?
Raylene's and Cheriko's memories should have been intersected. The young girl would have had to live with two identities. She would have lived in a body where she wouldn't have recognised herself. It would have been a trauma of uncertainty.
Cheriko Ray or Lee Raylene.
Two different people. Two different timelines. Two different personalities.
But in reality, Raylene forget herself and remembered herself to be Cheriko Ray.
Conclusion?
It's either something new that I don't know of has happened or someone deliberately erased Raylene's memories.
It's either one of the two.
The second one was attracting me. Who would have done such an act in this century?
Who would play a game out of this whole situation?
Just who?!
That's when I knew I had to make some decisions. It was time I used my powers. I could get some background information about everything.
As I walk out of the room I knew I had to summon a ghost. A ghost that's lived in 2019, in Japan to be exact. A ghost that could tell me what exactly happened with Raylene.
Park Jimin's POV
"You think I'll remember it soon?" she asks in her tiny cute little soft voice which always brought tingles to my heart.
I hum in response as she curiously looks at me.
"So, what's the first one? Why is Namjoon Oppa summoning a ghost?"
"I guess, I'll answer that since I'm sure Jimin wouldn't know it."
I hear Namjoon's voice from behind and we both turn our head to face him.
"So..."
With my face showing enough anticipation, I look at Namjoon hoping to find an answer fast.
"Let's go to my study, shall we?"
The tone which he used meant this was serious. It only brought in more eagerness within.
The three of us walk into his study only to find all my other brothers already inside.
We sit down on the couch as Namjoon walks to his table and takes a black marker. The environment was a little suffocating but manageable.
"It was about time, we discussed everything we've been through and find an answer."
There it is.
Will we find an answer?
"But Hyung, Raylene hasn't-"
Before I could complete, Namjoon cuts me off.
"Let's start from there. Raylene's memories. That's exactly what I want to discuss at the moment."
"You have a way to retrieve her memories?" I ask confused.
"Not that, but the opposite."
"The opposite?"
The marker came into use. Namjoon draws a line and divides the board into two halves. He writes '2019' on the top corner of the left half and '3019' on the top corner of the right half. He further mentions Cheriko Ray's name on the 2019 side and Raylene's name on the 3019 side.
Was he differentiating?
"Cheriko Ray and Lee Raylene. Two different people. Yes, they are two counterparts. But after the time travelling, Lee Raylene ended up in the year 2019. Everything was right. That is until here."
Namjoon draws an arrow from the right to left on the board to mention the Time travelling part.
"After that, everyone knows what happened. Raylene ended up in Japan with memories of Cheriko Ray."
"It all makes sense, Hyung," I say in agreement. Namjoon looks at me before he continues breaking the silence," and that there, is the main flaw."
Each of my brothers had the same look covering the faces. What was Namjoon implying?
"According to the books I've read, Raylene shouldn't have lost her memories even if she by chance gained Cheriko Ray's."
Huh.
"You mean to say..." For the first time, someone other than me spoke.
"Raylene would have lived in the hysteria of confusion, with memories of two people, herself and Cheriko Ray."
I could feel Raylene tense next to me. I give a little squeeze to her hands as she looks at me a little afraid of Namjoon's statement.
"But, Raylene forgot her original identity and started living as Cheriko Ray, that is until a few days back where she's regaining her memories part-by-part. Am I right, Ray?"
"Looks like it. Also, since I've started remembering myself to be Raylene, Cheriko Ray's memories aren't lost too. So I guess, your facts are right. Now that I think of it, I feel like I have two identities," agrees Raylene who's trying her best to compose herself.
"Thank you, Ray. I hope no one's confused. I tried to make it as simple as possible," says Namjoon as he further continues. "And that's the reason I summoned the ghost. To know how Raylene lost her memories and ended up as Cheriko Ray. The very Cheriko Ray who is now dead."
No one spoke a word as Namjoon hesitantly begins again.
"My guess is that someone explicitly manipulated her memories. They erased the recollection of her being Lee Raylene of the 31st century."
Wow.
That was unexpected.
The room was filled with surprise and wonders. The turn of events was indeed startling.
"What did you find?" I ask as Namjoon gazes at each one of us.
Breaths were held as we stumbled within ourselves.
"How about we ask the proprietor of all these predicaments in person?"
"What? Someone did that to Raylene?" I question Namjoon in response.
"It was me. I did that," says a voice that I knew very well.

Another Plot twist?
Looks like it?
So, who in their good minds manipulated Raylene's memories? Why?
Lots of Love,
