Good Morning, Beautiful

Before the sun rises I get dressed, careful not to wake Aurora. I walk down to a coffee shop and order a large coffee to go. The liquid burns my tongue as I hurry to the grocery store.

I sleepily fill my cart with pastries, fruits, roses, dark chocolate, eggs, and yogurt. I decide on adding spinach to the mix, remembering how Rory likes spinach in her eggs.

I hastily buy all the stuff, worried the check-out clerk will try to start up a conversation with me. She bags my groceries with a tired smile, I thank her, and hurry out of the store. I stop on the way to the hotel to get Rory a coffee.

I quietly open the door and am flooded with relief to see she's still sleeping. Making sure my movements are as silent as they possibly can be, I sneak over to the kitchenette and start preparing the food. Once the pastries, yogurt, and chocolates are arranged in a pretty way and the roses are in a vase with water, I start on cutting the fruit.

The noise makes me cringe every time the knife slices through fruit. I try to make them look nice, though it has never been a skill I have.

As I'm just adding the cut spinach to the eggs, arms wrap around my waste, scaring the crap out of me.

"Good morning, Baby." Rory mumbles into my back. Her voice is tired, which somehow makes it sound sexy. I drop the pan on the stove, spin around and pick her up, making sure she doesn't see what I've made for her. I carry her back to bed.

"Pretend to sleep for just a tiny bit longer." She sleepily complies and snuggles back into bed. I try to be even quieter, not wanting to wake her a second time. She falls right back to sleep, so I try to keep the food warm for longer, not wanting her to be tired.

After a bit of turning the stove on and off to try and preserve the warmth in the eggs and coffee without burning the eggs, I put it all on the tray. I carefully place the roses and set the plates on the table, making sure everything looks nice.

I make my way over to the bed and gently shake her side. When her eyes peel open, I whisper, "Good morning, Beautiful." I lean down and delicately kiss her.

"Come on, I made something for you." I lift her and set her on her feet, pulling her hand over to the table.

"Oh my gosh, Belle!" She gingerly touches the flowers and takes in all of the food. "This is so sweet of you."

Her arms wrap around me and her lips graze my cheek. She takes pictures of it to post on her story, kissing and thanking me, and I fall in love just a little bit more.
