↬ resource hubs (r)

let's discuss about:

resource hubs

before we begin, I'd like to add that you MUST credit whoever made those resources or follow their instructions to claim their resources. it isn't a basic courtesy, it is a must.

let's begin  ::

¹; deviant art

luxurious app. actually, just use the website lmao you can never download shit off the app (i just borrowed the app logo for the uniformity of this chapter).

i use it mainly for png packs and the like but you can also find fonts, brushes, stickers, textures, overlays, etc. it's basically your go-to place for resources.

²; tumblr

although it cannot offer as many resources as deviant does, it definitely provides you with lots of hq photoshoots, some pretty cool gifs and amazing edits to gape at.

i use it more like i use wp but i do think it's a pretty good place to visit for resources and the like.

³; dafont

any font you want, you can search it up and find a way to download it off this website. if you have phonto or over premium you can install the fonts on them.

; pngtree

lovely place for downloading pngs. I usually make my own bc I'm a dumb perfectionist but yeah you could use this for your graphic needs. they have some really cool ones tbh. just ensure that the photos you use are free to use and if they require credit, please do so!

⁵; google fonts

this is also a pretty neat site for downloading fonts, especially premium ones. you can get fonts for different languages/scripts too!

editing apps with resources  ::

¹; over

there are plenty of free templates and free pngs/graphics that you can use - as well as fonts. this app virtually NEVER hangs too while downloading these. over also links you to free websites like unsplash and pixabay (select the image option)

²; ibispaintx

the default brushes are pretty great but for those who like custom brushes - there are people on instagram who also make custom brushes! although I'm not someone who uses brushes a lot, I think you should check out alleequido's instagram account; she's  got some pretty cool stuff there :))

³; phonto

surprisingly, you can generate lovely gradients off here. play around with the color swatches so that you don't always have to depend on the default colors. you can also make half-transparent gradients hehe - if you want I could make a simple tutorial on that!

⁴; picsart & canva

the stickers are fun to use but on picsart, you can never really tell who's made what and it's really hard to credit people. however, like over, picsart also links you to backgrounds and high quality photos by unsplash. canva also has a few resources to offer within its app - pngs, fonts, backgrounds, etc. the website version is a pretty decent place.

a note about pinterest  ::

a. make sure you only download resources that aren't reposted. it's very easy to tell which ones these are (they usually have the logo of another site below them like wattpad, twitter, Tumblr, deviantart, etc).

b. there are a handful of accounts which provide you with high quality photos of idols - so please follow those and stick to those. there are also lots of accounts that provide you with polarr filters and other resources so make sure to double check - otherwise you might end up plagiarising!

c. pinterest has a HECK ton of reposted stuff - polarr filters, overlays, png packs, edits, etc. a lot of these are also posted by actual users with no credit whatsoever. please, do not support this.

d. if you see a photo that you really want to download on pinterest, click on view site and you will be led to the actual place this was posted. PLEASE check who the owner of that resource pack is and credit.

this is how I navigate pinterest too. I've only been using it as a way to upload my own graphics and stuff.
