"I like it when you wear your hair like that."
Aurelia blushes, "It's nothing special, just a ponytail that probably looks awful because I'm blind."
Harry gives her hand a gentle squeeze because he doesn't like it when she puts herself down and he wants her to know that he means what he says. "It looks very nice, Aurelia. It accents your face really well. Well, all of your hairstyles do, really. You're just a stunningly beautiful woman."
Aurelia takes her bottom lip between her teeth and nudges him with her shoulder because he's sending the butterflies in her stomach into a frenzy, "Stop it!"
Harry only laughs, "Stop what? Complimenting you or telling you what I think?"
"No, stop being cute. It makes me want to kiss you just that much more."
Harry grins as they walk past the familiar shops he'd left behind a little over a month ago. It's always nice to be home, but it's even better with Aurelia by his side. "Is that a bad thing?" He certainly doesn't think that it is.
To Aurelia, it is a bad thing because it means that she has an ever present urge to kiss him about ninety percent of the time. "Yes! Yes, it's a very bad thing! I can't kiss you yet! I won't kiss you yet!"
He laughs lightly and continues playfully flirting with her, "Okay, so, you won't kiss me but you really want to and you'll give in enough to quarter kiss me."
Aurelia nods confidently and leans into him as they walk because she's a bit cold, "Yes, exactly."
"And you won't kiss me because of your bucket list?"
Her vibrant and confident smile has become a very shy one, because there's something that she hasn't really told him yet, "No, not exactly."
Harry looks at her curiously, a small smile of his own playing at his lips, "Oh? Can I know the real reason why?"
Aurelia shakes her head, her blind gaze dropping to the pavement that she can't see. She's embarrassed just thinking about it. "It's silly, really."
Harry's voice grows warmer in tone and his proximity increases, "I'm sure it's not. But if you don't want to tell me, it's okay."
Aurelia's blushing like crazy and she wishes that it's dark outside, but the feeling of the faint sun rays on her skin tell her otherwise. "I haven't been kissed before, so it would make you my very first kiss."
Harry's features are awash with joy and admiration as he asks softly, "Really?"
He's been someone's first everything, but it never felt as special as it does with Aurelia. He's never wanted to be anyone else's last like he wants to be Aurelia's last everything. It's a strange feeling, but it's a good type of strange and he never wants it to go away.
Aurelia nods and the tint in her cheeks grows a shade darker, "Yes, really. Do you still want to kiss me?"
For some reason she thought that, if he knew that he was going to be her first kiss, he wouldn't want to kiss her anymore. She doesn't know why she was so worried about that because, in all honesty, he's probably jumping for joy at being her first kiss. But there's always this tiny part of her that doubts something that she knows is true.
Harry smiles brightly and gives her hand another squeeze, "Of course I do! Honestly, I don't think there's ever going to be a time where I don't want to kiss you."
Aurelia offers him a soft smile, "But I'm bad for your health, surely you must know that."
Harry shrugs. He's well aware of the implication of falling in love with her and he simply doesn't care.
"Oh I know, but I don't care. I know you're going to leave and break my heart, but I just can't stop myself and I don't want to either."
Aurelia squeezes his hand this time, her smile slowly growing, "You really are an idiot."
Harry grins, "Yeah, but at least I'm a cute one."
"That, you most certainly are."
He brings her to a nice little restaurant near the water where she has her first authentic taste of fish and chips. Harry has her laughing the entire time and by the time that they're done eating she feels like she's just given herself some abs.
"That was so good! I can see why it's popular over here. Definitely not as good over in America."
Harry grins as he leads her down the sidewalk and towards the London Eye, "I would certainly hope so! It's only the greatest thing we Brits have to offer. Well, besides me of course."
Aurelia bumps his shoulder and smiles toward her feet, "Oh, shut up."
Harry smiles playfully and retorts, "I'll shut up if you kiss me."
She stops walking and his hand catches when he tries to take another step forward. Harry's a little confused because she's stopped in the middle of the sidewalk without really giving him a reason.
"Everything alright, love?"
He steps back so that he's standing next to her again and Aurelia smiles up at him, "Yes, everything's alright."
Harry's still puzzled and it isn't until her cold fingers trace his lips that he realizes what she's doing. She's actually giving in to his request and she's going to kiss him.
Aurelia stands on her toes and gives him one of those quarter kisses that he loves so much, "Will you shut up now?"
Harry looks at her with false disbelief and she laughs loudly, "I'm kidding! I wish I could've seen the look on your face just now! I'm sure it was great!"
"I'm starting to feel like you just enjoy being mean to me." Harry smiles down at her and she just shrugs her shoulders.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. The world may never know!"
Harry laughs with her as they finally make it to the line for the infamous London Eye.
"Have you been on it before?"
He nods, "Yes, but it was during the day, so this will be a first for me too. I'm sure it will look much better this time. Especially since I've got a pretty girl by my side."
Aurelia's cheeks flush, but this time she doesn't say anything and rocks on her heels so that they won't get tired from waiting because she can't exactly see how long the line is. Harry's so unbelievable sweet to be doing all of this for her and with her and for making her feel beautiful with all of his sudden compliments.
Much to their surprise, the line isn't very long at all and soon they're inside and ascending to a great overview of the wonderful city of London.
Harry holds her hand securely. He's kind of afraid of heights, but he isn't going to tell her that.
Aurelia smiles because she can tell he isn't a big fan of heights. She pretends that she doesn't notice his grip on her hand though because it's obvious that he's a bit embarrassed about it and she doesn't want to make him feel bad.
"What does it look like?"
Harry looks at her and smiles softly, "You or London?"
Aurelia flushes and hesitates with her answer. She actually wants to hear both, but she's far more concerned with the view in front of her than how he views her because she knows that he thinks that she's beautiful. He tells her every day.
"London."
Harry nods slightly, his smile still intact, "London. Alright, London from this particular view is awash with light and twinkling. Each and every building is bright, but not blinding, and shining like their own stars.
"Everything is certainly much smaller, the people look tinier than ants normally do and the cars are streaming by in nice little blurbs of light as the city refrains from sleeping. It's like a modern way to see the stars, if you want to compare it with something. It's really brilliant, but not as brilliant as you are, Aurelia."
They've stopped moving now and Aurelia wears a grand smile, "Have we stopped at the top?"
"Mmhmm, we have."
She's biting her lower lip now, "Will you kiss me? Not a proper kiss, but any other kiss?"
Really, she wouldn't mind if he just went for it and kissed her right there. A small part of her would be upset because she really wants the location of her first kiss to be different, but she's certain that Harry will make her first kiss as perfect as possible, no matter the location.
Harry takes her free hand and spins her around so that she's facing him, "Absolutely. I take it you want me to surprise you?"
Aurelia laughs and smiles up at him, "Yes, please."
Harry lowers his head and their noses are touching. He can hear her breath catch and he smiles at the notion. At least he knows that she actually likes him back and that she isn't just toying with his emotions.
His lips are so close to hers, only an inch apart at the most, and he hovers there. He hadn't intended to get this close and he's stuck because, God, he really wants to kiss her but he knows that he probably shouldn't.
Aurelia's hands are on his chest, holding him at a distance but wanting to pull him closer and just close that tiny distance that she can picture in her mind.
"Harry..."
He lifts his hand to caress her cheek. Harry can't help himself and oh, it's wonderful. For a moment, it feels like everything stops. Aurelia is all he can see and he just can't seem to pull himself away even though he knows that she's planned her first kiss and that he's going to ruin it if he kisses her now.
She's holding her breath as she waits for him to make his move. She's not sure that he's going to keep to himself instead of kissing her and the wait is driving her crazy. It's been a while and she's just about to breathe again when he finally makes up his mind and presses his lips to hers.
His lips are so warm and gentle as they meet with hers and her head is spinning because this is actually happening. Aurelia's heart is pounding against her chest and so is Harry's because they've both been waiting so long for this.
She practically melts into his touch. He's so warm and inviting and his lips are so much softer than she imagined they were. Harry's too into this and he lets her breathe for a moment before swooping back in and kissing her with a significant amount of pressure and all of the passion that he's been holding onto for weeks.
The butterflies in her stomach are going crazy and her head is still spinning as her fingers tangle in his hair. It isn't where she dreamed it would be, but it's everything she wanted and everything she's dreamed of and she wants to drown in his affection.
Harry realizes what he's doing and forces himself to pull away because he feels awful for kind of ruining her ideal first kiss.
"I'm sorry..." He breathes deeply before lifting his head and kissing her cute and cold nose. It's a last minute apology effort and he hopes that he hasn't upset her.
Aurelia lets out a deep breath and opens her eyes. There's a soft smile on her rosy lips, "Why?"
He isn't really paying attention because he's too absorbed with staring at her lips and getting lost in the fact that he kissed her and she actually kissed him back.
Harry shakes his head when she says his name to catch his attention, "Why what?"
They're moving again, they have been for a while, and it's almost time for them to disembark.
"Why did you kiss me on the nose after that wonderful first kiss?"
His cheeks darken and he smiles down at her, "That's what you want to know?"
Aurelia smiles in return, "Yes."
Harry shrugs, "Last minute apology because I was incredibly worried that I upset you. Plus, your nose is cute and it was that adorable pink color so I thought I would be a gentleman and warm it up for you."
Aurelia smiles down at her shoes. He always has the right things to say, even if he doesn't think so. "I'm not mad at you. You didn't ruin it at all."
Harry takes her hand again and leads her off the car and back into the busy streets of London, "Are you sure? I know that you wanted it to be different somehow and I feel really bad about taking that away from you."
She takes a moment to mull over the thought and her mind gets caught in that electrifying moment that passed between them only a few minutes ago. She wanted him to kiss her more than anything and he did, so she couldn't be mad at him for that.
"Yes, I'm sure."
A strong breeze blows over them and Aurelia shivers and closes the small amount of space between them. Harry's so warm.
"Well, if it counts, I am sorry and I'm glad that you didn't cry or beat me to death for ruining your moment."
Aurelia laughs and Harry watches her. He admires the cute little dimple in her cheek and the way her eyes close and her adorable smile. He's already in so deep and it's nearly impossible for him to climb back up.
"Thank you, but you don't have to be sorry. You gave me the first kiss that I've been dreaming of, better even, and you can still kiss me when we make it to where I originally planned to be kissed."
Harry sighs dramatically, his smile overtaking half of his face, "Does this mean that I can't actually kiss you again until that time?"
Aurelia laughs brightly once more because he's absolutely adorable. "Well, since you brought it up, I suppose that will suffice as your punishment for kissing me before I told you to."
Harry smiles to himself because he knows that she's dying for him to do it again, "That's okay. I can wait."
The reinstatement of the no kissing rule almost doesn't last for very long because as soon as they get back to the hotel, Harry takes it upon himself to start tickling Aurelia with the explanation that she's cold and it will warm her up quickly.
Aurelia wants to kiss him so badly when he's done and she's catching her breath, but she stands by what she said because she does want that kiss in her dream location and she does want it to be special.
Harry understands and doesn't push her, but she ends up pushing him back because he lets his heart take over and tries to kiss her a few times. That's okay though because she thinks that it's incredibly cute.
Eventually, they fall asleep to the sounds of the city and soft spoken conversations.
It's around three in the morning when Harry wakes up to Aurelia crying. He rubs at his eyes and reaches over to comfort her, but she isn't in the bed anymore. Harry panics slightly as he sits up and calls out groggily, "Aurelia? Where are you, love?"
She doesn't answer him and tries to be quiet but she can't. It's another bad day and she was hoping that she wouldn't have one with him around. She's suffocating and she hates it.
Harry finds her in the bathroom, sitting with her back against the sink and her knees curled up to her chest as heavy sobs rack her body. It hurts him just to hear her crying, but to see her crying is ten times worse.
He reaches out his hand to wipe away some of her tears and she stops him, "Please, just don't."
Harry drops his hands and sits cross legged in front of her. He doesn't say anything, but he isn't going to leave either.
"Why are you still there?"
Harry shrugs and looks at her with a sad smile, "Because I hate to see you cry and I want you to feel better. Even if just sitting here with you is what you want me to do. I won't say a word if you don't want me to."
Aurelia chokes back a sob because he's being so sweet and it only makes her feel so much worse. "I hate that you're the problem. You should be anything but the problem."
Harry shifts slightly so that he's more comfortable and he speaks softly, "Why am I the problem?"
Aurelia looks at him, not really, but he still feels like she can see him by the look that she's giving him. "Because you're everything that I want and, God, I can't even see you! I want to see you so badly and everything that I haven't been able to see since I was sixteen.
"I want to see the pyramids, I want to see the Colosseum, I want to see the stars and the sunrise, I want to see the ocean and not just feel the sand in my toes, I want to see myself, and what kills me the most is that I want to see you.
"I could live the rest of my life being blind without a single problem, if only I had a single glimpse of you."
Harry feels like crying with her. Her heartbreak feels like it's his too, but he knows that crying with her won't help and he pushes the tears back while he lifts his hand to wipe away her tears. This time she doesn't stop him.
Aurelia sobs, "I just want to see you."
His hand is warm and gentle against her skin and the simple gesture calms her down tremendously.
"I know sweetheart, I know. I would give anything to help you see again and not just because I want you to see me, but because I want you to have everything. You don't ever deserve to feel this way Aurelia, and I hate that I can't do anything to help you."
Her bottom lip quivers and the tears keep falling down like torrential rain, "I'm sorry that I woke you up. I didn't want you to see this."
Harry shakes his head, "No, no don't be sorry at all, love. Do you still want me to leave you alone? I know you prefer to be alone when you have these moments. It won't hurt my feelings, I promise."
Aurelia shakes her head quickly and wipes at her eyes, "No. I want you to stay. I just...I..."
Harry can't take it any longer and gently pulls her into his lap so that he can hold her. "It's okay, you don't have to explain, just know that I'm here and that I care for you very deeply."
Aurelia's sobs turn into small hiccups as she clings to him, "Do you love me?"
Harry wasn't expecting her to ask him that, but he certainly isn't going to lie to her. "Yes."
He loves her more than he thought was possible after knowing her for such a short period of time, but he doesn't question it or deny it. He's in love with Aurelia and that's more than alright with him.
Aurelia nods and it seems like his simple confession has made all the difference. "I'd really like to kiss you right now, but I'm all snotty and gross."
Harry laughs lightly and kisses her forehead sweetly. "If you want me to kiss you, I have no problem with that at all. I'm just waiting for the okay, you know."
Aurelia laughs briefly and he continues, "I really will if that's what you really want."
Aurelia smiles softly, "No, I still want to wait until we reach that number on the bucket list. Thank you again for letting me make you wait again, Harry. You don't know how much it means to me."
"I would wait for you for a thousand years if you asked me to, Aurelia. Would you like to go back to bed? It's rather cold in here and, you know, the blankets are very fluffy and very warm..."
Aurelia laughs and puts her arms around his neck, "If you carry me, you get major points toward that next kiss you know. And you're actually very close."
Harry's glad that she has already moved past her dark moment and is back to her own little unique way of flirting with him. "I will carry you, but not for the points."
Aurelia is beginning to find that she's falling in love with him too. Certainly not as quickly as he's fallen for her, but she's very close. She's been falling for him since the beginning.
Harry sets her down gently and pulls the covers over her before climbing in himself and bringing her into his arms.
They had been laying there for a few minutes in a comfortable silence before Harry finds himself asking, "How do you want me to kiss you when you give me the okay?"
Aurelia answers without hesitation, "I want it to be just like the kiss you gave me last night. Sweet and gentle at first, like a feather because you're being careful and afraid that I might break if you add too much pressure. But then, after you've given me a moment to breathe, I'd like it to be passionate and take my breath away. I want to feel how much you care; I want to feel alive. I want you to kiss me like it's the last day of our lives."
Harry takes every word to heart and ingrains it in his memory. When she gives him the okay, he'll redo that first kiss and make sure that it fits the kiss of her dreams again. He's determined to give her the kiss of a lifetime.
"Just let me know when and I promise that I'll do my best to redo that first kiss that you've been dreaming of."
