Aurelia sits on the couch beside Harry, their legs brushing against one another. It's been a few days since she's seen him last and it's still a little strange to have a friend. They've been sitting in an almost awkward silence for a few moments and she feels the need to say something about how her mother kind of intruded on their lunch a few days ago.

"I'm sorry about my mom the other day. She's a little too into my life to keep certain things to herself."

Harry's quick to shake his head in protest, "No, it's okay. Really. I completely understand! Do you want a drink or anything?"

He's had girls over before, but they weren't Aurelia. They didn't make his heartbeat pick up when they looked at him and they didn't give him the same giddy and light feeling that Aurelia does. Aurelia's special and she makes him so damn nervous without even saying a single word.

Aurelia shakes her head, a small smile on her lips. "No, thank you."

Harry tries to offer again because he really isn't sure what else to do. Sure, he knows how to be friendly, but Aurelia always has him flustered whether she knows it or not. It also doesn't help that she's shown up out of the blue and without any warning. Hell, he doesn't even know how she knew where he lives.

"Are you sure? We have just about everything-"

She laughs lightly in response. He's always so nervous around her and she thinks that it's awfully cute.

"Yes, I'm sure. Please just relax. Are you like this around all of your friends, or is it just girls?"

Harry scratches the back of his neck nervously. He didn't think that she could tell how nervous he is, but apparently he was wrong again. His cheeks flush to a slightly darker shade, "No, just you."

Aurelia smiles, "And why's that?"

Harry shrugs, "I dunno, I guess it's because you're the good kind of different." It wasn't exactly poetic, but it was the best thing that he could come up with that wouldn't be too forward or push her away.

Aurelia laughs lightly as she speaks, "I didn't know there were any other kinds of different, other than the good kind?"

Harry fumbles to find something to say and she decides to spare him the trouble, "I'm leaving in a few days."

He's puzzled and his heartbeat accelerates at the thought of her leaving. He's just started to get to know her, she can't leave so soon.

It feels like there's a lump in his throat as he asks, "Where are you going?"

Aurelia beams and her tone is dreamy as she replies, "On an adventure."

Her answer is incredibly vague and Harry finds himself asking another question, "When will you be back?"

She laughs happily and turns to face him, "Truthfully, I don't know if I'll ever come back."

Harry's eyes widen at the thought of never seeing her again. He can't tell if she's talking about dying or if she's talking about not coming back from wherever it is that she's going. "You don't mean-"

Aurelia laughs and shakes her head, "Yes and no. I'm going to make use of my wish and start running down my bucket list before my tumor runs me out. I don't know where I'll be when it happens, but I don't want to sit around and be stuck here until it does."

He thinks about what she's said for a long moment before he releases a deep breath and quietly mutters to himself, "Oh."

He's upset that she's leaving for a multitude of reasons, but mostly because he really likes her and because of the fact that they've just started to become really good friends. She can't leave now, it's too soon and he doesn't think that it's fair of her to do that to him.

A minute or so of heavy silence passes before Aurelia decides to ask the question that she's been thinking about for the previous week.

"I know we've only known each other for a week or so, but I was wondering if maybe you'd like to come with me? I don't particularly want to bring my mother, but if I go alone I'm going to have problems, as I'm sure you can imagine. I'm not expecting you to agree right away, or at all really, just give it a thought for a day or so."

Harry doesn't need a day to decide, wherever she's going is where he wants to be. "Yes."

Aurelia flashes him one of her genuine smiles because she didn't think that he would answer so quickly. "That didn't take you very long."

Harry shrugs, "Like you said, I want change. And what better way is there to achieve change other than tagging along to help a friend finish her bucket list?"

She's still smiling because he doesn't seem to know that she knows. "Except that I know you don't see me that way."

He likes her and it's painfully obvious. He tries to play it cool and act like there's nothing more than just a friendship, but his actions and his words give him away.

Harry's caught off guard again by how bold and observant she is, "Uh..."

Aurelia laughs lightly, "Don't worry about it, Harry. I don't mind."

Harry looks a her with a hopeful and confused look in his eyes, "You don't?"

"Not at all."

They talk a little more before Aurelia heads home for dinner. Her mother asks her about how it went from the moment she walks into the door to the moment they start packing her suitcase.

"So? What did he say?"

Aurelia groans because she's been asking about it for what feels like centuries and she feels like she hasn't listened to a thing that she's said.

"He said yes, mom."

Her mom continues packing her suitcase but Aurelia can tell that she's practically giddy with excitement, "I would love to be disappointed about not going, but I'm very happy for you, sweetheart."

There is a certain tone in her voice that hints at her believing that Harry is more than just her friend. Aurelia is embarrassed that her mom thinks that way about the two of them and she quickly rushes the words from her lips, "Oh my God, mom. We are friends, okay?"

Aurelia can hear her mother continue to fold clothes as she laughs, "Sweetheart, I know you're not emotionally blind as well. I wish you could see the way that he looks at you."

Aurelia blushes and continues to pretend to stare at the ceiling. Since she first met Harry, her thoughts tended to drift to him and this was a topic she was particularly curious about. She swam in the possibilities for a moment before asking softly, "How does he look at me?"

"Do you know what he looks like?"

Aurelia smiles brightly, "No, I'd like to wait to know what he looks like for a reason."

Her mother smiles proudly. She admires her daughter for her new outlook on life and how she takes the time to think just about every decision that she makes through. Aurelia doesn't let her blindness control her; she controls herself.

"I'll tell you what, when he tells you what he looks like, I'll tell you how he looks at you. Sound like a plan?"

Aurelia closes her eyes and continues to imagine the many possible ways that Harry could look at her, "Yes, it sounds like a plan. Could you put more of my nice clothes in there? You know, the um..."

Her mother smiles because she knows the exact type of clothing that she's asking for, "Don't worry, I know what you mean. I've got it."

The night doesn't pass fast enough and Aurelia doesn't get much sleep because she's so excited to travel the world and fulfill her dreams and to get to know Harry better.

Harry picks her up at the house and she practically has to rush him out of the house because her father starts interrogating him like he's a murder suspect.

He thinks that it's funny, but she finds it irritating because there isn't a need for her father to try and scare him away. The car ride to the airport was nice, they talked and sang to music on the radio and Harry didn't drive like a maniac.

However, going through security was not a pleasant experience at all, especially because she couldn't see how long the lines were. Eventually, they made it through though and all they had to do was wait to board the plane.

They were making their way to their designated gate and Harry is holding her hand. It takes Aurelia all of the effort that she has to focus on anything else but the way that he's holding her hand. His hand is warm and fits nicely with hers and, if given the choice, she would choose to hold his hand over using her cane any day.

As they walked, Aurelia wracks her brain for anything that she might have forgotten to tell him on the hour drive to the airport. A light bulb goes off in her brain and she finds herself speaking a little too quickly, "Before you get on this plane, I want you to know that you're probably going to help me with a lot of things, like getting dressed and stuff like that."

Harry smiles and holds her hand a little tighter as they walk through the busy airport, "I know, I don't mind it."

Aurelia rolls her eyes and laughs because she knows that he's smirking at the thought of getting to see her half naked every day. "Wipe that pervy look off your face right now or I will call and have my mother run down here to take your place."

Harry laughs loudly and tries his very best to contain his smile. He can't help the fact that he's human and a small part of him takes pleasure in knowing that he gets to see her like that. Granted, he was probably going to look away anyway because he respects her and he doesn't want to take advantage of her in any way.

"Sorry, but in all honesty, I lived with my mother and older sister for most of my life. It's really okay."

Aurelia smiles as they board their plane, her nerves are on edge because she's never done anything like this before. In an attempt to keep her excitement levels down, she replies to his comment with a semi-serious joke.

"Just be aware that, even though I am blind, I know how to hurt you very easily."

Harry laughs softly this time, there is no doubt in his mind that she will do whatever is necessary if he offends her in any way. "I'll keep that in mind. What are we crossing off of the list first?"

He helps Aurelia into her seat and follows after her once she's settled, "Well, first, we're going to sleep off the jet lag. Then, we'll start with my bucket list. First thing to be crossed off is already crossed off anyway."

Harry's curious now because they haven't really done anything and Aurelia is full of surprises, "What was the first thing?"

Aurelia's smile is sad, "To make a friend my age that would actually stay."

He doesn't have to take her hand, but he does anyway. He doesn't know what it's like to be alone like that, but he does know that it hurts like hell when someone walks out and he wants to make Aurelia happy in any way that he can.

"I'm glad that I could help."

With Harry by her side, the plane ride to Egypt was anything but boring. He told her these totally lame jokes that weren't funny at all, but somehow managed to make her laugh, and he told her all of these funny stories from when he was growing up. She thinks he's absolutely adorable.

They've been on the plane for around eight hours now and they're both on the verge of sleep when Harry asks, "Why haven't you asked what I look like yet?"

Aurelia yawns and snuggles into her seat in an attempt to make herself more comfortable, "Honest answer or friend answer?"

Harry smiles with his eyes closed as he lays back in his seat, "Honest answer."

"There are a couple of things on my bucket list that I'm not going to tell you. I would really like it if you were the one to check them off the list. And, I'd rather not know yet because I'd like to know you better before I do something stupid."

"Something stupid?"

She's already half asleep as she hums, "Yes."

Harry turns his head and opens his eyes. She really is beautiful, even if she's blind and dying. And maybe he's making a mistake being her friend and going on this trip with her because he knows how easily he falls in love and how easily his heart breaks. Or maybe he's doing the right thing and loving her anyway because she deserves love just as much as anyone else and he doesn't think that he really cares if she hurts him in the end.

He's one hundred percent positive that he's going to fall in love with her, there isn't a single doubt in his mind. He also knows that the beautiful blind girl will break his heart, but that doesn't stop him either.

"Like falling in love?"

Aurelia knows that he's looking at her, she always knows because he does it so often and it's hard to ignore, even if she can't see him doing it. A small smile finds its way to her lips as she turns her head and opens her eyes, although it makes little difference if she has them open or not, "Yes, exactly that."

He says something after that, but she's far too tired to pay any attention and, instead, she lets sleep overtake her. Aurelia has no idea what time it is when Harry wakes her up, but whatever time it is, she's incredibly tired.

Harry shakes her arm gently, "Aurelia? Aurelia, wake up."

Aurelia groans and rubs her eyes in an attempt to feel just a little more awake, "We've landed, haven't we?"

Harry chuckles lightly because she's cute in the mornings. "Yes, and we get to get off first because you can't see. So, up an at 'em unless you want a bunch of angry passengers screaming at you."

Aurelia pushes her seat up and moves her hands around in an attempt to find her glasses. After coming up with nothing, she finds herself asking, "Could you help me find my glasses? They aren't where I left them..."

Harry smiles and holds the dark glasses up triumphantly, "Already have them in my hand."

Aurelia smiles brightly in return as he carefully places them on her face, "I'll give you that one. Do you have my carry on?"

Harry grins and takes her hand, "Yes I do. Now, come on you slow poke!"

Aurelia feels like hours have passed as they wait for their bags to come around on the conveyor belt. She's terribly sleepy and takes off her glasses to rub her eyes.

A few more minutes pass and Aurelia succumbs to sleep a little more and leans into Harry. She's so tired that it feels like she hasn't slept in years.

"Harry, what time is it?"

He's so warm and comfortable that she can fall asleep just leaning against his side with his arm wrapped around her.

Harry checks the updated time on his phone, "It's ten at night. Someone is sleepy."

Aurelia pinches his hand and he lets out a moderately loud "Ow!" at the contact.

Her soft giggle quickly turns into a yawn, "Do you see our bags yet?"

Harry leans forward and she knows her answer before he speaks, "Yep, just one more go 'round and I'll have everything and we can go to the hotel."

Something that she forgot to mention to him springs up in her mind as they are sitting in the cab and she almost jumps out of her seat, "Harry, I forgot to mention something before we left."

Harry smiles softly as he looks down at her, "What is it?"

Aurelia currently has her head resting on his shoulder. She can smell his cologne and she decides that she wouldn't mind smelling it more often. "Just about all of the rooms that I booked are single Queens."

Harry laughs very lightly and she feels his chest vibrate as he speaks, "That's okay. But if you don't want to share with me, I'll take the couch without any problem at all."

Aurelia hums as she thinks about what it would be like to share a bed with Harry. He's probably a cuddler and she wouldn't mind that at all. "No, I don't mind. I just wanted to make sure that you were okay with it."

The car stops and Harry takes her hand again because he knows that she's far too tired to use her cane.

It takes a little while for them to get a little trolley for their bags and Aurelia nearly falls asleep in the elevator on the way up to their floor. Harry doesn't think much of it other than the fact that she's so beautiful and she's so unaware of it.

Harry smiles softly once they make it into the hotel room and he successfully shuts the door. "Since you're about to pass out, would you like to even bother with pajamas, or do you just want to pass out in what you've been wearing for nearly two days now?"

Aurelia hums as she thinks about it, "Would you help me with my pajamas? I don't like sleeping in jeans."

Harry continues to smile as he presses a soft kiss to her forehead, "Of course, not a problem at all."

Aurelia is just about dead by the time that he's helped her with her pajamas and helped her into bed. She hardly even registered the fact that he kissed her in any way or the fact that she hadn't told him to look away as he helped her into her pajamas.

Harry doesn't really have pajamas because he doesn't particularly like them and he prefers to just sleep in his boxers or nothing at all. For Aurelia's sake, he keeps his boxers on and crawls into bed beside her, keeping his arms to himself even though all he wants to do is hold her in his arms.

Aurelia's voice is soft against the darkness, "Harry?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you for coming with me."
