Nine

I was sat next to a girl named Lila in AP. The period was almost done and I was ready to go to lunch. Augustus texted me frequently, reminding me how much he hated having different schedules. I had to turn the ringer off my phone.

When the bell rang I made sure my skirt was down and gathered my things. I walked out with my eyes trained on the messages. The last one saying how I was in trouble for ignoring him.

I crashed into a familiar wall and saw Augustus staring down with a brow raised.

He opened his mouth but my high energy levels gave me the confidence to cut him off.

"You can not be angry at me for paying attention in class. I am right here after class, Auggie."

His stern features softened and he pouted slightly.

"I just wanted to tell you how pretty you are," he kissed my cheek repeatedly and I laughed heartily.

"You're silly," I kissed him quickly as he threaded our fingers. He lead us to my locker and ignored the lingering eyes on us.

"You know Monday used to be my favorite day of the week," I dug through my locker on my tippy toes. I felt his eyes on me as he reached to get what I wanted.

"And whys that, baby?"

"Well it gets lonely at home. And even if I never talked to people ya know they're here. But with you home I didn't want to go to school."

Hands cupped my jaw before turning it towards him and suddenly lips covered my own. I pressed a hand to his cheek gently and kissed him back eagerly.

Hands slid up my skirt and my brows raised in surprise as they started to slip under my underwear.

"PG!PG!" A voice yelled and I hopped back. I turned red and gathered shut my locker.

I turned to see Hunter and a girl with darker hair and skin than me. She wore a bright pink shirt that made her body look amazing and jeans.

I glanced over to see Augustus glaring at his friend and quickly winced before wiping at the lipgloss I got at him.

I sent him a sheepish smile as he cleaned up my own lips in return.

"You were right, they are adorable."

My eyes widened and I looked to see the girl speaking as Hunter nodded.

"I'm Esme," I stuck my opposite hand out to introduce myself.

"Yea Hunters told me all about both of you guys. I'm Aria, I transferred over from a Williamsburg."

I nodded at the information, Williamsburg was a few towns over.

A heavy arm was placed over my shoulder and I immediately wrapped my arm around his waist.

"We're going out to lunch across the street do you all want to come?" I asked absentmindedly and I practically felt Auggie's displeasure.

I glanced up at the silence to see Hunter giving  him a face splitting smile. Augustus was sending a heck of a glare and I nudged him lightly.

He sighed heavily. "Yes Hunter you can come."

I bounced happily and smiled at the other couple. I soon found us all in the little diner across from school.

Augustus rested his arm on the seat behind my back. I had ordered fries and a milkshake.

I asked Aria about her life before moving here and heard her eccentric tales of parties and crazy people.

I listened intently. I'd never experienced any of this so I was eating it up. I sipped on my vanilla  milkshake before offering some to Auggie.

He shook his head and I raised a brow at him. I leaned forward, "why aren't you eating?"

"I like watching you more."

"Please eat, Auggie."

He shrugged and grabbed his burger. I linked arms with him and leaned against his body.

We finished up eating and I laughed as Aria tumbled out of the booth. I gripped her hands and helped her up. We traveled back to school and I sighed at the thought of class.

A heavy arm was wrapped around my shoulders and I was pulled into a hard chest.

"Come on baby," he kissed my forehead and lead me to school.
