16.2: BIG FUN

"Hey," I turn around from Tori's crib, sighing and pecking Sweet Peas lips. "Something wrong?" He asks.

I lean my head on his chest. "I'm tired." I mumble. "With the play, my parents, Cheryl and Toni, Tori." I shake my head. "I'm exhausted."

I follow him to the living room, where he nods. "You have a lot on your plate." He says. His eyes catch something, and he frowns. "What's this?" He ask, pulling out he envelope Robin had given me.

"I don't know." I shrug. "Reggie told me not to open it."

Sweet Pea frowns again. "Well, let's find out now, huh?" He pulls out his knife, cutting the envelope open.

The paper is written with red ink.

Dear Emilia Chrysanthemum Blossom,

Your eyes sparkle when you look down the halls of Riverdale High, your red hair swifts back and forth. Your smile captivates my stare when you laugh.

My love for you, is unconditional.

Your heart has always belonged to another. No matter how hard I try. But I believe you and I can be everything and more. Be my bride the night of the musical. The Gargoyle King will wed us. We can ascend together. This town is not good enough for a elegant creature like you. I will do anything to be with you. Even if it means removing anyone in my way.

Our love can be god like.

Love,

Robin

"Oh my god." I muster out. "He's playing G&G."

"And you're his quest."

I stand up, "This isn't happening."

"It's okay," Pea coos, hugging me tightly. "He's just..."

"Crazy?" I scoff. "Yeah, this psycho wedding he has is planned tonight!" I shout. "He's definitely crazy."

Pea shrugs. "I was gonna say damaged."

I shake my head, pushing him away. "Yeah, we're damaged. Really damaged. But that does not make him wise." I shrug. "I'm not special. I'm not different. He can't choose who lives or dies."

Sweet Pea takes my hands in his. "So let's be normal. See bad movies. Sneak a beer, and watch TV." He gives a small smile.

I giggle. "We'll bake brownies, or go bowling. Don't you want a life with me?" Pea twirls me around. "Can't we be seventeen. Thats all I want to do."

"If you could let me in, I could be good with you." Pea replies.

"People hurt us." I mutter.

"Or they vanish."

I shrug. "And you're right, that really blows." I look up into his brown eyes. "But we let go."

"Take a deep breath."

"And go buy some summer clothes." I smile. "We'll go camping."

"Play some poker."

"And we'll eat some chili fries." I smile. "Maybe prom night,"

He holds my hands. "Maybe dancing."

"Don't stop looking in my eyes!" I sing.

"Your eyes."

"Can't we be seventeen? Is that so hard to do? If you could let me in; I could be good with you!" We dance around the living room, smiles wide on our faces. "Let us be seventeen. If we still got the right."

I look up at him. "So what's it gonna be?" I cup his cheeks. "I wanna be with you."

"I wanna be with you," He replies.

"Tonight!" We sing together.

We sit on the couch. "Yeah, we're damaged." I sing softly.

"Badly damaged." Pea adds.

He looks into my green eyes. "But your loves too good to lose."

I lean on his shoulder. "Hold me tighter."

His hands wrap around my body. "Even closer."

"I'll stay if Im what you choose." I hum.

"Can't we be seventeen?" He sings.

"If I am what you choose."

Sweet Pea looks down. "If we still got the right."

"Cause you're the one I choose." I sing.

"You're the one I choose." He follows.

Our faces are close, our lips barely touching. "You're the one I choose."

Sweet Pea meets with Hermione and Dad so they can take Tori, I stay at home to gather a few things. I check the time, rushing to grab a few more things.  I leave my phone by my purse on the counter, walking towards my room.

A knock on the door causes me to jump. I sigh. "This better be quick-" I swing open the door to see Robin. He's in a tux, smiling at me maniacally.

"Hello, Emilia."

I step back. "What do you want?" I glare.

He pouts. "Well, we were supposed to get married." He holds up a white dress. "But I suppose you can be my date to Heathers, don't want you to be late." I run inside my bedroom, slamming the door shut. "All is forgiven baby! Come out, get dressed, you're my date to the show tonight!" Robin shouts. My breathing is heavy. He's high on fizzle rocks. This quest...this mission. It's not right.

"You dumped me out like I was trash, for that you should be dead..but but but, then it hit me like a flash; what if this town went away instead!

"Those assholes are the key, they're keeping you away from me! They made you blind, messed up your mind; but I can set you free!" He sings. I look around nervously, moving my dresser in front of the door. I curse at myself, realizing my phone is still on the kitchen counter. "You left me and I fell apart. I punched the wall and cried."

BAM
BAM
BAM

"Then I found you changed my heart, and set loose at that truthful shit inside!" I furrow my brows in confusion. "And so I built a bomb, tonight this town is vietnam! Let's guarantee they never see their future prom!" My eyes dart to my bed, where my laptop lays. I rush over, swinging it open and logging onto messages.

Robin hits the wall, causing me to flinch. "I was meant to be yours, we were meant to be one. Don't give up on me now! Finish what we've begun!"

I send a text to Sweet Pea, telling him what happened. I also text my dad, knowing he'd get here soon with his capos. However, I didn't know if it would be quick enough. I slam the computer shut.

"I was meant to be yours." He hums. "So when the high school all goes BOOM, with everyone inside," He makes three strange pew sounds. "In the rubble of their doom, we'll plant this note explaining why they died!"

"We the students of the Riverdale High, will die! Our burned bodies may finally get through to you. Your society churns out slaves and blanks. No thanks. Sign the students of Riverdale High. Goodbye!"

I open my window, attempting to find a way to climb down. "We'll watch the smoke pour out the doors. Bring marshmallows, we'll make s'mores. We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!"

I hear a loud boom, and I look over. He punched a hole into the door. "I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one! I can't do this alone! Finish what we've begun!" He punches the wall again. "You were meant to be mine!" I whimper as I look out the window, knowing the jump down would kill me. "I am all that you need! You carved open my heart. Can't just leave me to bleed!"

Someone bangs on the front door. "Emilia, open the-open the door please."

Robin looks at me, wide eyed. "Emilia, open the door." He gives me a creepy smile. "Emilia, can we not fight anymore? Please, can we not fight anymore?" He chuckles. "Emilia, sure you're scared, I've been there. I can set you free! Emilia don't make me come in there-"

"IM GONNA COUNT TO THREE!" Said the person out side of the apartment.

"ONE."

"TWO."

"FUCK IT!" Robin shouts, ripping the door open and climbing over the dresser. I let out a loud scream as he lunges at me.

The police storm in, Hiram and FP Jones leading the crew. One shoot to he arm and he flies to the ground. I scream in terror, looking down at him as Dad rushes over, hugging me tightly.

Within minutes, Robin is on a gurney. I walk over to him, a blanket wrapped around me. "Emilia,"

"Why?" I glare, tears running down my face.

"It was a quest. You and the town. Or I die." He looks down. "I am damaged. Far too damaged." He looks up to me. "But you're not beyond repair."He shakes his head. "Stick around here, make things better, cause you beat me fair and square."

He sighs. "Please, step closer." I do. "A little closer." Two more steps. "Don't know what I'm supposed to do." His hand finds mine, and my heart drops. "Hope you'll miss me, wish you'd kiss me. Then you'd know I worship you." He sings. "Id trade my life for yours."

"Oh my god." I sing, my eyes wide.

"And once I disappear,"

I shake my head. "Wait, hold on!"

"Clean up the mess I made!"

My eyes are puffy. "Not this way!"

He looks up at me, weak. "Our love is god."

"Our love is god."

"Our love is god."

"Our love is god." He sings over and over.

I stare down at him coldly. "Say hi to God." Is all I say before he is taken away.

"Emmy!" I look over to see Sweet Pea running over. I leap into his arms, my sobs muffled in his shoulder. "It's okay, I'm here."

"Listen up folks." Betty sings.

"War is over." I sing after.

Jughead follows suit. "Brand new sheriffs come to town."

Cheryl holds my hand tightly. "We are done with acting evil."

I follow. "We will lay our weapons down."

And Veronica holds the other. "We're all damaged. We're all frightened. We're all freaks, but that's all right." She sings.

Josie follows after "We'll endure it. We'll survive it."

I sing after her. "Martha are you free tonight?"

Cheryl shrugs. "I can't promise no more Heathers."

"High school may not ever end." Archie sings. Victoria coos at his voice as she sits in Dads lap.

Toni sings as well. "Still I miss you. I'd be honored, if you'd let me be your friend."

My friend.

The girls all sing. "We can be seventeen. We can learn how to chill. If no one loves me now, someday somebody will." The boys start vocalizing. "We can be seventeen. Still time to make things right. We want a better world. So why not start tonight?" We sing. "Lets go be seventeen."

"We can be beautiful." The boys add.

Everyone starts taking off their jackets & such. Leaving me in my blue tank top and plaid skirt. Perfectly matching Cheryl. "Take off our shoes and dance."

"You know, you know, you know."

"Cause this may be our final chance.  Always be seventeen."

"We can be beautiful."

"Celebrate you and I. Maybe we won't grow old."

We all sing together. "And maybe then we'll
never die." We all start doing the choreography. "We'll make it beautiful." We sing twice.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

"Beautiful!"

When we finish, nobody claps. "Well that's rude." I whisper.

However, a single person claps, standing up above the seated crowd. Suddenly, people start joining, clapping in a ominous sync. Evelyn smiles. "I knew my dad would like it."

I realize everyone who's clapping is wearing white. Even Principal Weatherbee. All of us look at one another, unsure what to do.

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" I groan.
