❚ 𝙰𝙵𝙸

𝘰𝘰𝙤. DIANA AND BUCKY both had settled in together, living in Diana's old apartment from her days alone. Diana had given Bucky a choice: Bucharest or Paris. Which one did he want to live in? Bucharest held too many painful memories for Bucky, and he's never been to Paris, a clean slate for him to start off with, so why not? Apparently, the people of France didn't know who he was or what he did. It seemed as if they were shut out from the rest of the world's problems.

𝘰𝘰𝙤. THEY HAD CHANGED some of the furniture in Diana's apartment. Changed the bathtub so it can have a bar for him to help him get out of it without slipping, placed all of Diana's trinkets on the left side of the bed (her side) so he can have easy access to a stress ball, a glass of water, and, just in case, a gun placed inside the drawer. They both got used to living without the others, usually living in a loud constantly moving area. Bucky had found a job in the museum Diana worked at, working as the World War II artifacts director. This gave them a slight advantage as their offices were right across the hall from each other. They ate lunch together at the restaurant that sold escargot, a French delicacy that was snail in butter, and drank coffee in the morning in the small café with the nice old lady that always complimented them.

𝘰𝘰𝙤. DIANA HAD TAUGHT Bucky to speak and write in fluent French. She was an amazing teacher, and within a month, he mastered the old love language. His first words to her were, "je t'aime." (I love you.) She gushed about him to all her friends, and he gushed about her to all his drinking pals. She let him go to bars once in a while, often not letting him go because "you have work in the morning, Bucky!" He currently stood with a group of people all looking the old bayonet behind him. He was giving a tour and Diana was next to him with her own group, a large group of 8 year-olds, talking to them about the large golden sword that was apparently wielded by Hercules himself. "Any questions?" He asked his group. (They were American teenagers from a school.)

𝘰𝘰𝙤. ONE BLONDE GIRL raised her hand confidently. Bucky nodded at her, silently telling her to go. "Are you single?" This question came out so perfectly and without hesitation, shocking Bucky a bit. But he smiled and eyed the ring the gleamed silver in the light, the diamond creating a thousand light fragments on Diana's ring finger. "I'm sorry," he shook his head, "but I'm not."

𝘰𝘰𝙤. THE GIRL SCOFFED, placing her hands on her hips. "No, you're not. You hesitated a bit." Diana then was watching them intently, raising an eyebrow at Bucky. Who did this girl think she is? Bucky quickly answered. "I actually am. See that tall, beautiful brunette over there? That is my soon-to-be wife. I love her deeply and with every fiber of my being. She is the moon of my life, that's all I know and all I ever need to know. And if this is a dream, I will kill the man that wakes me from it." He watched Diana with passion in his baby blues, smiling at all the times they've made love and kissed and held each other tight, whispering sweet somethings into their ears to calm the other down. Diana first considered them to be 'sweet nothings' but Bucky disagreed.

𝘰𝘰𝙤."HOW CAN YOU call something a 'nothing' when it's filled with something?" They've considered them to be sweet somethings from then on. Bucky caught the ever-present gleam of the ring once again. No, he certainly wasn't single, and he'll never be again.
