Parasite

We are cold

Sighing at the voice, you shoved your hands a little deeper into your pockets, not particularly enjoying the heavy wind either.

We are hungry

At that moment your stomach growled, and you felt a familiar sensation curl around in your stomach before making it's way into your throat.

"We are bored" stopping abruptly at that, you hastily darted your head around to make sure nobody was around before shooting into an alleyway.

"Are you crazy?! Speaking out loud in the street like that?! What if somebody heard that?!" Cracker squirmed unapologetically in your guts, thrumming with irritation.

You were not answering us

"Of course I can't answer you out there! What if we get caught?! I don't know about you, but I do not want us to be sent to some 'mandatory' hospital.." Cracker squirmed a little more uneasily at that.

We don't like those humans

"Yeah we don't, now can I just get us home already so you- we can eat and get warm?" Not even bothering to get upset over how he corrected you in the middle of your sentence, you decided to just fume silently when the bastard took control of your legs and moved the two of you back out into the street.

"Jesus, you're such a parasite" at that moment you nearly collapsed on the sidewalk feeling him jab harshly into your ribs- and you swore you saw your chest nearly pop out.

"What the fuck?!" Rushing faster to get home and yell at the cretin, he just continued to swirl inside you, completely indifferent to your anger.

We are not anything parasitic, do not compare us to those maggots, our relationship is completely mutual

"To you maybe-" you stopped short catching sight of a pizza shop- one of your favorites, and it was full of young couples on dates.

Pouting at the sight, you pulled on your hat to keep to your head a little tighter and began to speed walk a bit faster.

You are upset, do you wish to raid the restaurant?

You shuddered at the memory of last time Cracker was able to convince you into letting him shoplift a grocery store- waking up next morning to newspapers detailing the destruction left in his wake wasn't pleasant.

Neither was all the bruises.

"No, it wasn't the food- besides we're home" at that you entered the trashy little apartment building, slowly escalating the narrow staircase.

You felt your blood chill remembering the photos taken of you- well Cracker having taken over you.

It was unbelievable to think that the Kiseichu could change the natural appearance of your body so drastically- it was like you weren't even you anymore.

You grew twice in size, and your flat chest with soft mounds turned into a robust, manly chest bursting with muscles- making you look hardly feminine, your eyes turned pink and your hair pointed, twisting around until it formed three ponytails that sparked at the tips.

You couldn't even recognize yourself- in fact, it was easier to say it wasn't you.

That was Cracker- and you, as one, just in another way.

Finally making it to your tiny apartment room, Cracker was unusually silent as you scavenged through the cupboards until you found a box of Kraft Dinner.

Do you want a mate?

The question came out of nowhere as you boiled the small half ring pastas, making you pause.

"A lover.. could be nice.."

Then why not get one?

You snorted in sarcasm, "yeah, you do realize I had to give my sister my cat because you 'didn't like the thing's attitude'?" Cracker roughly squirmed throughout your organs at that.

We didn't like the way that bitch was jumping all over us, damn parasite!

"Cat's aren't parasites, they give us companionship, make us feel better.." you sat down alone at your table, and began to chow down, causing Cracker to immediately zoom into your stomach to feed off 'his share' of the nutrients- if there were any at all.

Well we're already doing better with that job than that damn cat ever did

You rolled your eyes but still chuckled, "yeah, talking to you is really nice Cracker" with all of your earlier aggression gone, and your empty belly filled, you placed the dishes in the sink and headed for the bathroom.

"Do we want a lukewarm shower?" Cracker began to seep near the surface of your skin, eagerly awaiting the contact of heated water.

Yes, yes we do

Lying in the bed provided, you tried to warm yourself up by wrapping the thin blankets around your body- but to no avail you still felt cold.

Gazing out the window, you got lost in the glaring lights in the sky- the small stars shining against the darkness of space, they were so pretty, it was such a shame they were usually drowned out by the city fog.

We need to sleep

Hearing Cracker grumble in exhaustion, you didn't even bat your eyes- still focused on the cold universe beyond the glass, where your Kiseichu came from so far away, "you can sleep anytime you want, you don't need to wait for me"

It is our duty to make sure we stay healthy

You couldn't get mad at him for wanting the best for you- even if it was only for his own benefit, "I can't sleep, it's too damn cold, this place has no insulation in the walls"

Do you want us to incubate you..?

You were genuinely caught off guard by the question, and it took you a few moments to answer.

"If it's okay with you, yeah.." feeling the Kiseichu make his way through your system, you felt your arm go numb as he passed through its tissues.

It wasn't very often Cracker came outside of your body voluntarily, his species could only last a maximum of two days on their own.

Without a host they were completely susceptible to things everyone else has natural defenses for, disease, wounds, unregulated temperature, they used other creatures as living mobile homes to protect them from the outside world- and even rarely go as far as to use them as a living skin, but you didn't hear of cases like that often, Cracker has complained to you many times how tiring it was to manipulate a body.

Now your Kiseichu, he had a clear distaste for being vulnerable- especially in ways he could get hurt.

Which was why you were quite surprised to see him willingly expose himself.

Watching the purple polymer-like watery substance emerge from your palm, growing until he towered over you- also making you question how he fits inside of you twenty four seven, you stared deep into Cracker's blank pink eyes- er well you always assumed they were eyes.

"Come here" not arguing with the other, you scooted closer, letting the strange mass engulf you like a sleeping bag.

"You're such a cool Kiseichu" feeling Cracker purr at the praise all around you, the alien cradled you with the upmost of care, "we are only looking after our host, without you we would die"

Blinking sluggishly, you began to feel the song of sleep calling for you, "well there's plenty of people in the slums of Gran Tesoro, if I die you can just move on to one of them.."

"No" blinking at the chill in his watery voice, you brightened up, now slightly more aware, humming in confusion, he continued, "you're perfect, you're the perfect host, that's why we chose you"

Nodding half heartedly, you let yourself answer the seductive warmth and darkness engulfing you, 'of course you think I'm perfect, you Kiseichu only take hosts you deem as such..'

Honestly, sometimes you wondered what Cracker saw inside you- literally.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Mmmmmm" both you and Cracker groaned in irritation- you from the sensation of the sunlight burning your eyelids, and Cracker from the sensation of your body waking up.

Don't get up, we need more sleep

Agreeing out of laziness, you absentmindedly rubbed your stomach as you curled up in the blankets, feeling it vibrate underneath your fingertips.

"Thanks for last night Cracker.." the Kiseichu simply pressed itself closer to the edge of your skin, liking the way you would pet him.

We're just taking care of one another, that's the whole point of our relationship

Humming absentmindedly, you allowed yourself to fall into a light sleep.

As you slept, Cracker diligently kept aware of the environment around you, actively keeping a look out for anything hostile in your territory.
