CHAPTER ONE: Au gets good news!

A young girl with shoulder length pink hair walks out of an american elementary school wearing a white button up shirt, blue skirt, white sneakers, blue & white striped socks that go up to her knees, blue hoodie, and white fishnet fingerless gloves. She wears a plus sign shaped clip in her hair and carries a small box shaped bag that has a blue and white plad pattern. The first thing to notis about the bag is the oxygen tank to the side that has the cannula tube leading from it to her nose.

She walks down the side of the streat as random kids pass by, some giving her glares and others laughing at her loneness. She walks with her head down until she reaches the buss stop where she waits for the city buss.

The bus pulls up and she gets on. She looks around until she sees a teen boy wearing a black & white school uniform who smiles at her. She smiles and runs to his seat. "Ray!" She says excited. Ray laughs and moves his book bag for her to sit with him. "Hay Au! How was shool today?" He asks her as she sits down beside the 17 year old. "Same as usual, board in every class and a bunch of haters." She says and he gives her a reasuring smile. "It'll be OK. I bet you'll make plenty of friends in middle school Au. And as for the board thing.... Maybe you should stop reading ahead in those text books you little nerd!" He says then proceesd to tickle her.

The bus pulls up infront of the hospital and the two friends get off. They walk right past the lady working the front desk. "Hello Au, Raymond, how was school?" She says and the two minors smile to her. "My day was pretty cool Ellen, thanks for asking." Ray says and Au bows. "Mine was the same as usual Ellen. Thank you for asking. How was your own?" She asks and Ellen smiles. "Oh, boaring! All I've done so far is sit here and look pretty!" The 47 year old woman says and the two laugh to each other. "Now what is so funny?" She asks them and Ray speaks up. "I'm sorry Ellen, but you are anything but pretty!" He says laughing and the woman glares to him. Ray grabs Au's arm and takes off. "Quick! Au lets go! Before she kills me!" He says in mock fright and the young girl giggles all the while.

They reach the 4th floor and go to room A-24H. Au goes into the apartment like room with Ray following. Au drops her stuff on a coffe table then lays down on the white leather couch. "Ah! Home sweet hospital room!" The young girl says and Ray lets out a small laugh just as Dr. smith walks in. The man's dirty blond hair combed to the side, and his green eyes scanning the staralized room. Ray walks up to the man with his own golden dirty blond hair left alone and blue eyes sparkling. "Hay dad!" Dr. Smith smiles to his son. "Raymond." He says with a nod.

Au looks to Dr. Smith. "What is it?" She asks him. "Great news. You will be undergoing surgery this Saturday and if it's successful you'll get to go home to your parents and sisters Au." He tells her with a smile. Raymond looks ecstatic, but Au looks much more worried. She was honestly scared of going back to Japan. Her Japanese was choppy and she had trouble understanding the verbal form. Writing wasn't her issue, conversations were. Nonetheless, she nods with a smile, happy to see her family again.
