Alliance
"You- I- she-" Law continued to sputter nonsense as he paced anxiously around the base's lounge, repeatedly glancing at you and flinching like you were going to jump his bones or something.
It kind of made you feel more comfortable to be around him, now seeing him act so skittish with you just sitting there, he didn't have such an intimidating aura about him anymore.
His crew, however, seemed to have taken it much better then he did, since the three were not only sitting in the lounge with cups of fucking tea, but they were even trying to initiate a conversation with you.
"So you're like- a zombie, but you're still alive..?" Asked the redhead.
Scribbling swiftly on your notebook, you tried to finish writing before one of them inevitably asked another question to pile onto the gigantic pile.
'I'm dead, but for some reason I still have my sanity, and I've been regaining control of my body too.. before this, it was really hard to write'
"Is that how you were able to run through those zombies? They knew you were one of them?" This time the good-natured question came from the timid albino, who you noticed tried to keep silent the majority of the time.
'No, I'm completely different from the zombies, they see me as a predator so they avoid me out of instinct, I think it's like being a school of fish with a shark'
The capped man named Penguin made a choking sound as he was sipping his tea, clumsily slamming the cup into the coffee table as he harshly coughed in between the words he stubbornly tried to choke out.
"Predator-?! You mean- those things are scared of- they fear you?!" Nodding your head in response, the three men gave you incredulous gasps, seemingly amazed.
"When did you turn?"
Jumping at the voice, you turned in surprise to see Law, now seeming to have come to terms with your existence and joining in on the interrogation.
"Four- no, I think five months now" both of you turned to Luffy, who leaped into the empty space beside you on the couch and leaned on your shoulder with a stupid grin, "(Y/n) told us about how she got turned when she was attacked by zombies, for some reason she turned into a ghoul instead of a zombie though.."
Law walked around the couch and sat with his men, following suit, the rest of the gang sat in the rest of the empty seats, making it look like you were all taking some meeting.
The Heart gang leader slouched over with his hands woven together and pressing against his nose, looking as if he was in deep thought until finally, a large, wry smile broke his poker face and he chuckled almost bitterly.
"Only you could find something so miraculous Strawhat.." looking to you with a thoughtful stare, you gripped onto Luffy's warm hand and resisted the urge to look away.
This lasted until his attention rested on the raven leaning on you with an almost annoyed expression.
"Strawhat, I can only hope you're aware of how important that ghoul is.." the teen sat up at that, now giving Law an equally serious look, "all my nakama are important Law"
Zoro grunted from where he sat to the far left, subtly smiling as he patted Chopper's head in what seemed to have been a habit, "yeah we know Luffy, but I think this guy might have something else in mind.." giving Law an amused look, you watched in confusion as everyone relaxed, as if they already determined the other supernova wasn't a threat.
Law groaned irritably, "Strawhat, are you aware of what her very existence implies?"
"She's living- undead proof, of a possible cure to this pandemic, she's a potential variable that can send the whole New World into chaos with who gets monopolization of her, this is a walking miracle that other people will certainly kill to get ahold of"
Blushing from the praise, you let out a soft high pitched moan and cupped your cheeks.
Usopp gave you an unimpressed look, "that's not something to get excited about (Y/n).." he whispered underneath his breath.
Luffy simply laughed it off, giving the tan surgeon a carefree grin, "it's fine Torao! I'll protect (Y/n) no matter what!" Hugging you closer to his side, you leaned into the crook of the raven's neck and moaned happily, now starting to feel drowsy from his body heat.
Eventually you drifted off into a half-conscious daze as the conversation went on.
"Protecting her isn't enough, there is also a thing called being discreet" Law's face fell into a look of sarcasm and disappointment.
Nami snorted from the couch where she was slouched, giving Law a dry look, "like we didn't try that.."
Bepo pouted at her attitude, "well running through the middle of a hoard isn't very discreet.." the redhead overheard him though and gave the albino a death stare, "like we were supposed to know Law would see through her act!"
The redhead stood abruptly, looking ready to jump the other two Heart members as they reached into their pockets, although, before any side could start a fight, Jinbe cleared his throat and stared into Nami pointedly, "we are not here for a fight, this is a civil conversation.."
Reluctantly, the three shied away from the confrontation.
Once both sides settled down, Jinbe turned to Law with a calculating but patient expression, "what now Trafalgar? I doubt now that you know about (Y/n), this is all you want to discuss with us.." the surgeon's eyes narrowed, but he just leaned into the couch and took a deep breath.
"No.. I'll be frank, I want to borrow her"
Immediately, Luffy jumped to his feet- somehow not waking you up in the process as you flopped onto the rest of the couch, only yawning as the small adolescent screamed volumes at the other young man with his eyes.
"I'm not wanting to do any unreasonable experiments on her or anything.. I want DNA samples, and just a few harmless tests that might help us solve what she is.. and a possible cure" seeing Luffy not relax in the least, Law glanced at you, closely analyzing the mangled socket you left for display and came up with an idea, "I also might be able to give her back her vision.."
Now that, made Luffy relax.
Actually giving the offer some thought, the boy glanced back at Zoro and Jinbe for input.
The two of them briefly hesitated before giving small nods.
"You just want to get some samples..? And you'll fix her eye..?" The Strawhat leader showed some caution, not quite feeling right with handing one of his nakama over so easily- even to Law.
"The eye, I'm honestly not so sure about, but I promise you I'll take good care of her Strawhat, I'll hand her back to you in a couple of weeks, that's all I need"
The room went quiet, save for your yawns that sounded more like the mindless moans and groans of a zombie.
After a few minutes of a heavy silence, Law shuffled in his seat, knowing Luffy was greatly unpredictable in the best of ways- but that was usually only for him, for everyone else it was in the worst of ways, and now that one of his precious 'nakama' were thrown into the mix, it only made matters more risky.
For all he knew, Luffy could suddenly fly into a rage and attack him- which would be very bad since he was not only on the boy's fighting grounds, but he was grossly outnumbered.
Law hated having to always be taking risks like this with Strawhat.
Although, it looked like his luck was still as strong as ever when the raven gave him a grin, "alright Torao, deal!" The surgeon deflated in relief.
"But.." face falling at that sing-song tone, the older man knew what it meant and doubled over in exasperation.
"Only if we start up our friendship again!" Head rising to meet the open hand, Law only hesitated once at the disarming smile that Luffy seemed to have perfected and shook the hand, completely resigned.
"Alright Strawhat.."
Not like he was thinking of actually cutting off their alliance so soon anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Writhing tiredly upon waking up, you felt a slight chill along the surface where you slept, and upon noticing that, you also realized that it was tilted.
"Aaa?" Yawning as you attempted to sit up, you were startled to find that you couldn't.
Finally opening your eye, you craned your head around to find yourself strapped to a table in a strange, shadowy room, above you there was a bright light shining down, so you couldn't really see that well, but you were able to recognize the silhouette of a familiar, well dressed man in a white doctor's coat.
"Uaa- aaaah.." you attempted to growl, but it ended up sounding more like a lazy moan when another yawn was forced from you, making you only slightly upset with failing to intimidate the other man.
"I see you're awake" turning to you from where he was working on some medical instruments, he motioned to a few men hiding out of the light, and soon they approached your table.
"Don't be alarmed miss (Y/n), Strawhat has agreed to lend you to me for a couple of weeks, so please don't try to harm my gang.. and I'm sorry about the restraints, some of my men refused to approach you without them"
Pouting moodily at the shitty explanation as to why you were in this weird predicament, you kept Law's words in mind, but still growled at the men hovering above you as they meekly went on with their work.
"Alright miss (Y/n).. first on the list is replacing that eye of your's" blinking in surprise at that, you allowed the men to roll your table directly under the light's focus, causing you to close your good eye completely from the brightness.
"Strawhat told me you don't feel pain as strongly or at all as when you were alive.." hearing the man now much closer than before, you gave him a nod, not knowing of the gleeful smirk on his face at your response.
"Hmm? That means I don't have to waste any anesthesia on you.."
You couldn't see what was happening, but when the room temperature suddenly shifted, you assumed the procedure to replace your eye began.
After awhile, you felt your mangled socket being messed with, it wasn't pleasant, however, knowing Law was just trying to help, you didn't bite whoever it was- that, and you were honestly afraid what the repercussions for doing so would be.
"Did you know that what we're doing with you is impossible?" Your brain stalled for a moment, and your stomach dropped at the information.
"There is no such thing as a whole eye transplant, the optic nerve, which connects directly to the brain, cannot be transplanted.."
You felt dread in your gut, the only thing keeping you from fighting against your restraints was the fear that you might cause someone to mess up and impale your brain.
"But if what I think might happen will happen.. we're about to create a miracle.."
