You were awakened by high pitched sirens, bolting up from where you laid, you turned to your clock in disoriented anxiousness, shoving the alarm clock close to your face, you blinked seeing that it wasn't even anywhere close to sunrise yet.

Hearing nothing but the echoing alert for emergency drum hard on your head, you hastily pulled out your uniform from the top of your case and darted out of the room, heading straight for the control room- where the lead scientists were no doubt.

Finding it kind of strange to come across nobody else the whole way- and not being able to hear any other signs of human life over the artificial screeches, your stomach twisted up in apprehension.

This seemed bad.

Hastily typing in the code to activate the door, once it slid open, you entered to see a room packed with was seemed to have been every single person in the lab, "what the heck is going on?" Multiple people turning to you with shock stricken faces, you scowled.

"You!" Turning just in time to see Caesar climb up the stairs, he zoomed in onto you with fury, "you! This is all your fault!" Not knowing what was going on, the accusation made you step back in surprise, your fault?! What in the toxic tundra was going on?!

"My fault?!" Growling in anger, you slapped his hand out of your face and pushed yourself into his chest in intimidation, "I don't even know what's going on! What happened?!"

Hearing somebody walk up to you from behind, you straightened up and backed away from Caesar seeing the head of security, Vergo march up to where you and the mad scientist was bickering, "I can explain" turning to the various switches and buttons in the system, Vergo flipped something that triggered all the cameras on at once, causing you to gasp in alarm at what you saw.

"A few moments ago, experiment one thousand six hundred and fifty two somehow escaped from it's cell, we don't know how it did it, but it was able to open the gate without triggering the alarm, it's been tearing through the lab on a rampage- calling your name" eyes widening at that, you looked to Vergo in shock before returning to the various screens, face gone pale seeing Kidd's empty cage on the biggest screen in the center, Fullbody and Jango were slumped on the ground, pools of red visible crowning their pale heads.

In the other videos, there were hallways and rooms with unmoving scientists decorating the ground, in one monitor in the corner, the screen was split, showing both Luffy and Law all alone, struggling to get out of their containers, looking confused, alarmed and frightened.

"Why is he looking for me?" Vergo didn't answer and just turned away, Caesar though looked like he was going to blow a gasket, "my theory is that he must of overheard the talk that you were fired" gasping lightly, you were relieved to see Monet calmly walk in with a bundle of folders.

"Fired?" Nodding at that, she turned to the screens, staring at them looking completely undisturbed, "think about it, you've been the one closely nurturing him for the majority of his development, theoretically, we can assume he probably views you as a surrogate mother- and if he heard that surrogate mother was going away.." your eyes widened in understanding.

Kidd was worried about you.

"W-Well what's the current situation?" Monet shook her head, "a containment unit was just sent out to detain him but- I just lost contact with them not that long ago, most likely the golem was too much for any of them to handle" you wilted at that, "oh no.."

Suddenly the sirens, and the lights cut off.

Shrinking up to the sound of various scientists shrieking in fright, you couldn't help but find that it was much nicer before when you could only hear the sirens instead of the hysterical screams of other people, "get ahold of yourselves you fools! The backup power should come on any moment!" Hearing Caesar yell above the crowd of voices, you sat tightly in waiting.

"The golem must have found the main power source!" You stiffened at that, was Kidd smart enough to know what that was? Not being able to think long on it, you blinked rapidly as a dull red light filled the room, "the emergency power!"

Soon the screens turned back on- well most of them, and they were duller than before, making it kind of hard to see through the static, but you still felt your heartbeat turn thunderous at what you were met with.

Luffy and Law's cages were empty.

"This is bad! The sludge diver and the rubber menace are gone!" Caesar clicked his tongue in irritation, "tch! The situation is getting out of hand, we will have to abandon this site! Everyone prepare for evacuation to site Alpha!" You blinked in confusion as multiple scientists began to collect files and grab for containers in a rush.

Site Alpha? There was a place other than here?!

"Tch, we have plenty of data on the three rogue experiments- enough that we can easily recreate them if we don't modify a few things here and there first, but that female is invaluable! She's still in the process of being made, and all of her data is in the room where she's developing! We can't recover it remotely without full power" Biting hard into his gloved hand, the head scientist scavenged for an idea of how to retrieve the female.

"Master Caesar! There's a problem!" Huffing in fury, the raven haired man, marched up to the scientist with a terrifying scowl, "what could be going wrong now?!" The scientist pointed to a diagram of the lab, showing one particular area that flashed a red colour, "without full power, the main gate can't open, in order for us to evacuate, someone needs to restore the power source by hand!"

Straightening up, the man was silent as everybody turned to him, all awaiting his next command to lead them into succession, Caesar blinked in deep thought, seemingly thinking up a plan to solve everything.

"You!" He pointed to you, "this is all your fault, so you shall be the one to go out and retrieve the female and restore the power!" Turning cowardly at that, you fell back onto the wall and shook your head, "oh no no no no, I'm not smart enough to do that, a-and it's super dark! I'll get lost!" You reasoned.

"Not with these" turning to Monet, you looked down to see her extending an ear piece and a pair of goggles to you, "with this we can give you directions and see what you're doing, we can guide you through it" you deflated once you numbly took ahold of the two gadgets.

Glancing at Caesar, you slumped your shoulders seeing him grin nastily at you- your death sentence has been spoken.

Creeping down an unrecognizable hall, you breathed terrified at the trail of violence Kidd left behind.

You've never seen Kidd do anything remotely terrifying despite his terrible reputation, to you, he was always a cute, slow thinker that had a heart of gold with the typical situation of being misunderstood just because he looked scary, but now you were beginning to have second thoughts- of him being completely harmless at least.

Kidd would always be a sweetheart to you, no matter what.

There was no way he did all of this on purpose- you refused to think of Kidd as a mutant monster, but the damage was still staggering.

The bodies of scientists were scattered around the floor, most were left in unnatural positions slumping on the walls, some had looked as if they were squished near the middle of the hall, and there were few that dangled from unusual areas, all of them looking as if they died from the severe blood loss that came from their injuries more than a straight murderous assault, sure there were few individuals who looked like they got maimed, although you couldn't help but notice how they all carried voltage spears.

Then your thoughts trailed back to the terrified confusion in Law's and Luffy's eyes, "what's gonna happen to Law and Luffy?" Hearing Monet switch your communication on, you heard Caesar sneer in confusion, "what do those two have to do with anything? We've already decided this lab as a bust, they'll probably be left here along with the golem- focus on retrieving the female!" Cutting off the connection, you mulled over what he said, feeling uncomfortable with the situation.

The three of them always treated you so nicely, abandoning them here while they were probably scared and confused? It just didn't feel right, in honestly Kidd was probably the most terrified, the poor thing.

"To your left" following the instructions Monet gave you, turning to the hallway in the left, you uneasily crept down the hall as quietly as you could, deep slashes were scattered all over the walls, making you feel cold right down to your core, the thought of stumbling upon Kidd while he was rampaging like this made you straight down terrified- however, not that you actually thought he would hurt you, but because you had no idea how he would react once it finally came upon him of what he's done.

He would be torn apart.

Continuing to creep around, you heard something drop down the hall, causing you to freak out in alarm- not even thinking, you crouched down and hid behind a slashed up body.

It was silent- until a shadow loomed over the hall, and soon light steps were heard coming closer.

Feeling your heart try to choke you in your throat, you resisted the urge to swallow, thinking it might be loud enough to attract their attention.

Soon the individual came into view, and you swore you kept as rigid as the dead seeing Law almost frantically wander throughout the hall, you softened seeing his eyes gleam in anxiousness- and for once you could see his expression quite clearly, he was obviously distressed.

"(Y/N)..?" You nearly flinched hearing him needily call out your name- Law never sounded so emotional, it almost broke your heart seeing what could have been tears gathering under his eyes, "(Y/N)..?" But that was short lived once he began to step closer in your direction.

"(Y/N)..?" Sounding pitiful, Law continued to head towards you in a straight line- did he know? No, he couldn't possibly see you in this darkness, please he couldn't.

Your body was sweating bullets now, he stopped not even a meter from you, staring down the body you hid behind with a delicate, desperate tenderness, "(Y/-" "(Y/NNN)!"

To your relief, Law immediately stumbled away from you and stared off to where you both heard Luffy, "(Y/NNN)!" Watching him eagerly rush off in that direction- most likely for comfort in companionship with someone he knew, you immediately crawled out of your hiding spot and rushed down your original path.

"What in the toxic tundra was that?!" Thinking that was a rhetorical question from Caesar, you didn't bother to try and answer him, "hmm, they're indeed showing some unusual behavior, I could understand the golem, but it's curious to see the other two searching for her as well during such a chaotic time" ignoring Monet's comment, you finally came across a big door similar to what kept the other three away from the rest of the lab as well, "is this it?"

"Yes, the female and all of her data is in there" eagerly grabbing at the door and prying it open with your bare hands, it was a slow process considering if you went too fast, it would screech loudly, and that was the last thing you wanted, so the door simply inched open inch by inch- "what the fuck?!" You froze hearing collected horrified gasps from the scientists.

Blinking in alarm, you peered in to see what could have possibly instigated such a reaction- only to stumble clumsily back in complete horror, staring face to face with a woman.

The female had beautiful, inhuman fair skin that looked as soft as silk, her face was beautifully rounded and carried thin lips and long lashes, her hair was black as night, long and silky- looking more like string than actual hair, just like Law's she had frills that decorated her wrists and a scaly pattern on her back, just like Kidd her appearance was completely otherworldly- her fingers still looked a little underdeveloped and her legs were still missing feet, yet she would still truly be a stunning beauty.

If she wasn't dead.

You plopped onto your ass, nose wrinkling at the powerful smell that permeated the air- it smelled as if someone dumped gallons of perfume and toxic chemicals in the room but no- it was her blood, the female's body laid torn up on the floor, glancing up, you could see a shattered glass cylinder that you could presume she was previously forming inside- you froze.

That means someone went out of their way to kill her, and passionately too.

Her skin was shredded, lacerations glowing all over her, one of her blue eyes was torn right out, making you feel queasy seeing the bloody gaping hole it once took, veins and blood and missing organs- not being able to stand the sight, you gagged harshly and turned away.

"They destroyed the female?!" "How is this possible?! Her pheromones should have made her irresistible to them! If anything, they should have gone after her with the intention of mating!" "This is quite unsettling, this behavior is completely unorthodox!" "None of this was expected.."

Hearing that the scientists forgot to cut your connection, you decided not to bother alerting them, instead you took in a deep breath and shakily moved around the incomplete female's corpse, wondering yourself what was inspiring such actions from the three sweet hearted mutants.

Eagerly rushing out of the room, you felt your chest ease in relief, no longer smelling the powerful scent of death- er, well her death at least.

Moving deeper into the inner confines of the laboratory, you felt yourself slightly calm down once you made it to your destination, the power room.

"Something isn't right, the fact that they weren't attached to the female as soon as they caught her scent is bizarre, their behavior is- is baffling, they should have recognized her as their queen on sight" entering the room, you sighed seeing the electrical box wide open, several wires were scattered about and few were even broken, it seemed Kidd accidentally rammed into the box at one point and unintentionally broke it.

You felt your heart momentarily shutter at the thought of the clumsy, silly, cute golem and- you hoped he was okay wherever he was, you really wanted him to be better where he is now.

"(Y/N), how does it look? The wires are too small for us to see on the monitors here" you blinked at the various problems, thoughts and memories of Kidd zoning out for the moment, "uh- three snapped green wires, two red, a blue, and- a lot of disconnected wires of various colours" Caesar clicked his tongue.

"It will take too long to fix all the problems, best thing to do is to fix the major problems, only focus on the blue wires.." slowly following Monet's instructions, you breathed through your mouth, hearing several electrical hums come to life as you repaired each wire.

"(Y/NNN)!" Freezing at the voice, you looked back out into the dark halls and waited for a sign or a shadow to appear.

That sounded close.

Subconsciously connecting the last wire, you jolted now fully aware of your surroundings once the emergency power brightened considerably, you heard a distant siren play off- no doubt the main gate opening.

"(Y/N) the power to the gate has been restored, follow my instructions through this shortcut" blanking out, at first you mindlessly stumbled for the door but-

"I can't do this" tears began to cloud your eyes.

"What do you mean you can't do this? Just take a left-"

"I've known those three my whole life! There must be a reason they're acting like this! I can't just leave them alone!" Memories of Luffy crying in loneliness haunted your thoughts, visions of Kidd with empty eyes made you shrivel up inside, thinking back to the desperate emotion in Law's voice, it made you feel terrible.

They all sounded so scared and anxious.

"..Very well then" blinking in confusion, you were suddenly stunned into silence when the door swiftly slammed shut like a mouse trap, almost taking your nose with it.

"What the?" You pulled on the edges of the door, but to no avail it didn't even creek, suddenly the other two doors that served as your way out slammed shut just as fast, and your heart began to thunder urgently, "what? Monet what's happening?!"

"Oh well, I wanted to lure you into the social room instead and trap you there- but I guess this is good enough for a distraction" you couldn't believe your ears, distraction?

"W-Wha?" Suddenly the comm system buzzed on, and you felt a cold sweat soak your back hearing Caesar sound so smug with himself, "attention you three freaks, if you want to find your so called precious (Y/N), she's trapped in the power room on the far side of the lab!" You felt something uneasy drop through your intestines.

"What-?! What is this?!" You felt your blood stir, caught in between boiling in fury and freezing in anxiousness and surprise, your (E/C) eyes narrowed in anger hearing Monet chuckle on the other side of your head piece, "well (Y/N), you've basically ran out of every use we had for you, you've always been the most expendable, now please make yourself useful once more by letting those three failures tear you to shreds while we make our way out"

"Go to hell!" Ripping off the offending device, you tossed it away, feeling betrayal, fear, and panic overcome you, the three were coming, and although you really wanted to say something positive, you had no idea what they were thinking right now.

They've been raised here, mostly in solitude with nobody to talk to, except for each other, and now that they were out, there was no telling what could be racing through their thoughts, revenge on the scientists? A way to escape? You? Why were they even looking for you?

"(Y/N)!" Jumping at the shout, you stumbled away as someone began to slam relentlessly at the entrance, the loud thundering punches and sounds of a distressed individual made you feel so frightened that you lost control over your legs- having you collapse onto your rear end with wide eyes on the steel doors that were slowly breaking down.

Soon you watched speechless as the powerful mutant forced the doors open with their bare hands, overcome with confusion- and being too stressed to put even two and two together, you laid splayed all over the floor, watching him struggle to force it open and look to you with desperate, frenzied eyes, "(Y/N)!"
