History And Art
Once all the students were seated, a raven haired beauty with crystalline blue orbs strutted into the room with a ruffled red and black dress that didn't hurt (Y/N)'s eyes with any absurd sparkles or sequins, this fact already made the (H/C) like her more than ever.
"Hello class, now since we have a new student today, I will be introducing myself" turning to the chalk board, she began to write things down as she spoke, "I am Ms. Nico, a well known historian who will be teaching you for this semester while things are going slow in my big time career of archeology, if you have any questions about history, please do not feel afraid to talk to me during my free time or out of school" she smiled kindly at them all, even if some of them behaved rudely.
When she was finally finished, she already drew what seemed to have been a whole story of a century with a detailed description of the topic, which seemed to have been from the title, 'the great beast attack' if (Y/N) was even reading it correctly.
"Now our topic today is about the great beast attack of 1421, can someone please tell me what it was?" When no one else bothered to raise their hand since they've never discussed about this before, Ms. Nico zoomed in on (Y/N) with a semi-sadistic look in her eye, "miss (L/N)? Do you have an idea on what it was?" She cooed almost too sweetly.
Without even batting an eye or pausing in hesitation, the scarred girl spoke with little enthusiasm, "a few years back, while..'we' had little worry for defense and didn't fear the beasts in the forest, they suddenly attacked in the night, hurting many but not killing anyone before disappearing into the woods again, after that the...government thought it was a good idea to start building the wall, not only to stop another beast attack, but to....keep the...riff...raff..out, and they also started teaching people how to handle 'brass knuckles' and 'tasers' in the 'guards'" she cooly rambled.
Law furrowed his brows at the pauses she made in her explanation, but other than that she nailed it perfectly, and seeing the looks on everyone's faces were a welcoming sight indeed, he was so proud of his girl.

During the next class, which was art, (Y/N) blinked as most of the many whispers in the class caught her exceptional hearing and made her pause in acknowledgement.
'Did you hear that illiterate orphan girl? Sounded like she knew what she was speaking about'
'The way she made those monsters sound is scary'
'Ha! Do not be serious, those things are all children's stories'
'They are not real, history class is just bogus, and if they were they aren't possibly that scary'
'Yeah but I wonder what it would be like to see one if it was real'
Hearing that last comment, (Y/N) slowly felt her head grow fuzzy, all the sounds around her became muffled as her thoughts were steadily dragged back into past, into the forest.

Laying in the tree, the child did nothing but stare up at the bare branches that continued to spiral up and up into the shadowy darkness above, she knew it was impossible, but sometimes she wondered if they were endless.
Her parents always told her to never climb too high or she would never come back down, even though she knew it was just a warning, she couldn't help but think maybe it wasn't such an exaggeration.
Looking back down below her, all she saw was cold dirt, thorns and giant roots, a couple of single weeds met her sight but she knew it was only a matter of time before they died and wilted away, such as the nature of this forest.
Few strays of sun entered the world of nightmares through the few holes in the density of branches up above, though it was never enough to actually bring any warmth to her paling complexion, but she didn't mind, all she cared about was survival.
Hearing a distant snap catch her ear from a far away echo, she immediately scrambled off her spot on the branch and hid in the hole that resided just below the trunk of the oak, while few sharp roots pricked her skin, she remained silent and alert to the few holes that poked out of her sanctuary, providing light.
Not even a few minutes later, a large shadow slowly moved across the holes in the hollow underground hideout, not even breaking a sweat yet, the child dared to lean to the side, catching a view of the creature's murky black paws and it's gigantic claws.
'Must not have eaten in a while, no wonder it's out during the day, it's desprate' she nervously thought, a dark feeling went down her stomach and chilled her core like a candle, just knowing that the beast could easily dig her out with it's powerful claws made her nauseous and frightful.
But luck seemed to have been on her side, when the beast merely continued on without pause, completely oblivious to her presence and her camouflaged hiding spot.
Once the beast left her sight, she silently creeped out of the hole, and looking to the direction where it disappeared to, the child felt her breath die right within her throat, seeing it in all it's glory before it vanished beyond the light, leaving her with an unforgettable memory.

Noticing a canvas shoved into her face, (Y/N) was finally knocked from memory lane and blinked at the blank thin material in her hands, "it is for the painting" the person in front mumbled.
Darting her sight up at the black wall, she zeroed in on the topic and paused, 'creatures of the forest' not being able to trust her eyesight and reading skills, (Y/N) blinked before tapping the shoulder of Law as he was deep into his work.
"What's the topic?" Not even bothering to lift his eyes from the page he answered blandly, "we have to paint what we think the monsters might have looked like if we saw one" then he resumed focusing all his attention on his work.
Looking back down at her empty canvas, and then to her paints, staring deeply at the white board, she didn't even realize her hand was moving until it was already holding a brush and hovering over the blank sheet, just waiting to be let loose.
Having the memory reply once more in her mind, (Y/N) immediately let her hand move on its own, curving and zooming all over the board without a second of hesitation in her thoughts, her instincts knew exactly how to guide her, and she trusted them completely, never have they led her astray in the forest, and they had yet to let her down here.

When Law was finally finished with his painting, he beamed down at the almost childlike depiction he made of it, feeling himself going back in time to when he was a child, the raven fondly remembered how he used to rush around the house, pretending to cut down monsters as he protected the town as a member of the guards, though over the years his vision for the future has greatly changed, he always missed the feel of adrenaline from pretending to kick ass.
Remembering about his (H/C) beauty, he wondered what she was able to come up with and smirked, looking over to her where she gazed out the window with a distant stare, he took a peek down at her finished art and then felt a chill go up his spine before crawling back down and pooling into his stomach.
Just looking at it made him feel as if he was staring right at death, where the hell was he again? No, he didn't just die on the spot and come face to face with the devil, he was in art class, observing at the scariest thing he has ever seen, not because it seemed scarier than anything else in that classroom, but that it looked as if it was...real, as if (Y/N) actually knew what they were supposed to look like.
Stealing a quick glance at her face, Law mulled over the clouded fog in her eyes, feeling as if she was suffering inside, he reached his arm over and softly held her clenching hand, not flinching when she almost lept out of her skin in responce.
"It's okay...nothing is going to hurt you here" The teen tightened his grip on her hand to show that he was serious, smirking when it seemed to have brought her back down to earth a little, "thanks Law, you're the best" his smirk grew wider.

After classes ended the teacher picked up each canvas from the student's desks, scanning her eyes over each one, she sometimes wondered what was going inside their heads.
But when she picked up the last canvas right next to the windows, the woman froze as her eyes widened in shock and her body went ridged in suprise, suddenly, darting her eyes down to the student's signature, she dropped all the other ones she had as she rushed to her desktop, trying not to trip on her bubbly dress on the way.
Dialing someone on the phone, she continuously peered down at the realistic painting before someone finally picked up on the other side, "this is Klafka, we have a situation" she quipped.
