Glorious

Katakuri could barely restrain himself when he finally saw the boy everybody was so edgy about.

At first he had no idea what the fuss was all about, so yet another rookie foolishly thought poking trouble at Mama was a good idea.

Although, he did admit that taking down his brother was nothing to scoff at, obviously this nuisance had to be dealt with quickly, and he was.

When he heard that the boy was apprehended by the vengeful army, he didn't think much about it.

Just another greenhorn who made a few lucky, well placed moves.

He thought that was going to be it.

But it wasn't.

The wedding looked like it was going to run smoothly, sure there was a few uninvited guests causing bullshit- but that wasn't anything too uncommon, it was just the usual when you ran a 'business' like they did.

But when the vision of Pudding collapsing blazed before his eyes, he realized something was amiss, and soon afterwards, all hell broke loose.

To everyone's shock, tens upon what seemed to have been hundreds of Strawhats flew out of the wedding cake like magic.

Not magic- copies, Brulee's copies.

They must have taken a haul of animals from the forest and used his sister to make them mirror images of Strawhat.

How they managed to get a mirror in the wedding cake though, was beyond him.

However, that didn't change the fact of how effective it proved to be.

Katakuri had to admit that no one has ever caused such dismay, such panic in the heart of their kingdom.

Actually, he was almost impressed.

But instead of letting it grow, he shook off the sudden feeling of random acknowledgement and analyzed the hectic crowd for the real amongst the fakes.

And then suddenly Katakuri realized all too well why the rookie was such a big deal.

Hearing the teen's voice roar over the pandemonium that consumed the Chateau, a distracting warmth poked its way into him, and everything abruptly clicked into place with the gears in his mind.

He was his.

Where was he?

Whipping his head around and trying desperately to distinguish the boy from the copies, Katakuri struggled to keep his observation haki intact in the face of such an unexpected surprise- a surprise albeit a delightful one.

Where?

Where?

He needed to calm down, calm down dammit.

Where was he?

Which one?

Finally, as if the world decided to grant him one small favor, a vision blazed before his eyes, his mother wielding Zeus and Prometheus as Luffy charged her-!

There he was!

Immediately zooming in on the proud, scowling man, Katakuri could barely minimize the awestruck ripples in his skin, a shiver went down his spine and squirmed into his stomach.

He was awfully young, and brightly spirited, Katakuri could feel his chocolate doe eyes momentarily scorch him with their intensity when they briefly glazed over him.

The boy was perfection.

He could read his blatant, open face like a book, just like that.

He was defiant, carefree, powerful, so goddamn glorious.

He couldn't help himself.

Not really caring what the pirate captain was plotting at the moment- not even thinking hard about what he saw in the vision, all Katakuri could focus on was planning the fastest way to take him into his embrace.

Eagerly whipping his leg out, he caught him, engulfing the young soul into his body before his mother could strike.

He honestly couldn't care less hearing his mother complain about his interference- again.

Using his future vision as his excuse, Katakuri was careful to try and bury the boy as well as he could under the blanket of mochi, being cautious to make sure the enemy captain didn't hear his voice in all it's clarity as he questioned him.

Not yet, he couldn't let his soulmate get distracted here of all places.

God, as Katakuri was careful to keep him pinned as well as he could, he hissed underneath his breath at the squirming and thrashing, finding that the movements only helped to turn him on.

As the captain writhed, Katakuri found that he accidentally caused more harm than intended, seeing Strawhat was yelling with a hint of pain, a dribble of blood splattering onto the ground as he spoke.

It made his insides curl and his tongue click in self-disappointment, however,  that was all.

He could worry about that later, he could repent and apologize all he wanted later, the first thing he had to do was secure that gorgeous diamond and get it away from all of this grime and filth that threatened to dull his lustrous shine.

Hurriedly pulling him towards him, Katakuri reeled in his long awaited prize with baited breath, the closer he got the more features he could pick out.

He was simply magnificent, the fire seemed to burn brighter in his brown eyes the closer he became, Katakuri swore he could feel heat in his very soul, his skin was smooth, with the exception of a few jagged crevices and indents, besides that not a single imperfection was to be found, his passionate expression that held on as he struggled- Katakuri had to take in a deep breath.

Glorious, the man was absolutely, and unmistakably glorious and all his, fuck there was no excuse, Luffy was definitely his match by all the laws of this world, and it was his right that he could do whatever he wanted with the other.

But it seemed he allowed himself to be too eager.

Growling at the steaming tea that broke his sticky hold, he watched his big catch slip away and rush back into the messy frenzy consisting of the scattered minnows and his hunting siblings.

No.

Katakuri would not have his glorious pirate captain escape- or worse yet get killed, not after this, the sweet commander had been waiting for far too long for this day, he had been waiting too long to hear Luffy's clear, beauteous voice.

He had been waiting for too long for this, the day he finally found his soulmate.

Immediately chasing after him, Katakuri knew he had to work fast, Luffy already created enough trouble, and it wouldn't help at all to add more crimes to his death sentence.

He was his, after all.

His other half.
