You Won't Remember
"Bold choice, Y/N." Zarkon's voice boomed throughout the hollow, cold room of the ship. Y/N spun in circles, trying to latch her eyes on the large figure from which the disembodied voice came, but she couldn't locate it.
"I do hope it was worth it for you." He provoked.
Y/N scoffed. "How could it not be? My life for all of theirs is a small price to pay."
Zarkon laughed mockingly. "You had so much. You had your family. You had friends. You had a real home. All things which I know you formerly lacked."
"Shut up." Y/N snarled. "They'll find me, and once they do—"
"Do you really believe they will come to save you?" He finally stepped out from the dark and into Y/N's sightline. "Risk themselves to regain a person so meaningless to them?"
"I'm. Not. Meaningless." Though Y/N spoke those words, they were hard to believe. Maybe, she was worthless to them.
"How can you be so sure?" Zarkon's words carried a venom so potent that Y/N actually began to believe him. They hadn't shown up to save her yet, so maybe they had abandoned her.
"I can't." She said. Something inside snapped. She was agreeing with him.
But, then her mind cleared again and she shook her head. "They'll come! I know it!"
Zarkon's sickly smile was still stuck to his face as he approached Y/N with an arm outstretched.
"Rather unfortunate that you won't remember them when they do."
Y/N stood in confusion, paralyzed, unable to move. The next thing she knew, everything was black, and the memory of her past was gone all while a searing pain ripped through her body.
