Anarchy

"Maaaaaatt?" A familiar, deep voice called, soon followed by many others. He recognized it as Hunks at first, and then Shiro's, then Pidge's, Keith's, Allura's, Coran's... The brown haired boy knew he could get up and tell them where he was... but she was so warm. Her chest still rose and fell evenly with each breath, the look on her face complete and utter peace. She looked content, and he really didn't want to wake her.

As his crew-mates got closer, Matt nestled his head back down onto Y/N's and closed his eyes softly.

"Guys, shh—" Pidge said, waving her arms in the air to shush everyone. They all approached quietly and suspiciously. But the moment they came around, everyone seemed to squeal and clamp hands over their mouths to avoid screaming. Pidge was squirming in amusement, scrambling for a camera and Shiro stood placidly, unsure of what to think.

Though he tried, Matt couldn't keep his eyes shut. He pretended to open them as if he'd just woken up, blinking a few times in confusion.

"Hi guys." He said sheepishly, his voice groggy from just waking.

"I have two questions," Pidge began. "One, why the hell are you two here? Two, does this mean her memories are back?!"

"Pidge! Language!" Shiro grumbled. "But, I have the same questions."

"Okookok—" Matt fumbled with his words. "Long story short, we were on the training deck late last night. Before we went to sleep, the power on the ship went out. Including the internal temperature thing—"

    "Stabilizer," Pidge corrected.

Matt rolled his eyes, mocking Pidge's voice. "Stabilizer... and so we came back here to fix it. Her computer wasn't working so she had to use mine. We almost froze to death in the process and then, well—fell asleep."

"And yeah, her memories came back. It just took a while."

The boy tried to talk quietly and avoid moving. Chances were, she was awake but too shy to open her eyes in front of everyone.

"Y/N!!?" Lance screamed, completely defeating Matt's attempt to stay quiet. "You remember my face right?! I mean it's kind of hard to forget..." He flaunted and Y/N woke up, smiling.

"Unfortunately, yeah, I do remember your face." She laughed lightly.

"Remember all of us?" Shiro stepped forwards and knelt down by his sister.

"All of you." She smiled. Instantly, Shiro's arms wrapped around Y/N and pulled her from Matt's grasp. The warmth which Matt revelled in dissipated and he pleaded for Shiro to set her back down, but the black paladin refused.

"C'mon guys, breakfast!" Shiro hollered out, motioning for everyone to follow him. They did so happily, but Pidge hung back.

"Don't you—" Matt began, warning his sister from saying some taunting thing she'd regret. But, instead of speaking, she held up a small screen and tried to hold back an explosion of smiles and laughter. When Matt's eyes focused, he saw it was a photo of him and Y/N.

"Pidge..." Matt slowly got up and held out his hand towards her as a warning. To his dismay, she powered the device down and locked it. "Give me that..."

"Nah. I'll keep it for now." She laughed mischievously and rocked back and forth on her heels. Knowing Matt, if he got the device, he'd delete the photo so Pidge couldn't use it to taunt him. Not before he'd send it to his own device, though.

"YOU'D BETTER RUN PIDGE!" Matt growled, chasing Pidge off towards the kitchen violently.

Crashing into the kitchen, Pidge took refuge behind Hunk and continued laughing manically. Unfortunately, Matt knew he had to refrain from tackling his little sister on the dining table because Shiro wouldn't take that too well.

"All of us would like to thank you two," Allura looked between Y/N and Matt. "For fixing the castles systems last night. If you hadn't, we could have woken to a very dangerous, or worse, situation this morning."

Matt winked at Y/N and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"You guys would have done the same." The girl said quietly.

"Now, seriously, you've got all of your memories back? Because I really don't want you to bite me again." Hunk giggled nervously.

Y/N's face fell. She bit him? That didn't sound good. "Yeah. But, if I'm being honest, there's a few small pieces missing here and there. Noting important, it seems. And I—well, I don't feel myself. So, if I start going out of control again, do whatever you need to stop me. Just...thought I'd warn you."

"Since the failsafe is broken, you should be quite alright, Y/N. We will keep a close eye on you, and I will have Coran run regular tests if it makes you feel better." Allura comforted and Y/N nodded.

At the end of breakfast, Shiro made it very clear that he wanted to spend time talking alone with Y/N. He explained they'd be heading off in the black lion and would be back by dinner. Since the ship had landed back on Arus, it was likely the pair were heading over to the Balmera for a quiet place to discuss the events of the past few weeks.

Everyone else in the castle went about their normal daily activities, but Matt knew he'd be bored out of his mind. Just like the day Allura had spent the day with Y/N and Pidge, Matt didn't like her being taken away again. He felt selfish, thinking like that.

With time, he found himself catching up on rebel information and decoding random messages. Not even those tasks could get his mind off of last night, and out of curiosity, he pulled up the security footage from the training deck.

There was Y/N, throwing all of her energy at one of the bots, slashing relentlessly with her sword. Then he saw himself, approaching down the hall. The situation played out just as he remembered, but his pride was a little dampened seeing Y/N fighting twice as well as he did. Even though it was a little embarrassing, the boy couldn't help but smile to himself as he replayed the clip over and over.

"What'cha up to?" Pidge stormed into the room, sending Matt scrambling to shut down the screen. It ended in complete failure as he only enlarged the footage on the screen instead of shutting it down.

"Pidge," He sighed. "You're supposed to knock."

Pidge fumbled through Matt's things in the room. "By the way, you suck at fighting." She mumbled through a mouthful of scavenged food, hanging off the back of her brothers chair. Matt powered down the video footage and turned around to meet his sisters mischievous eyes.

"You're never gonna impress her like that. You've gotta, like, take your shirt off so it makes up for the trashy fighting."

"Trashy?" Matt scoffed and almost felt offended. Since when was Pidge so sassy? "And like I would do that. My fighting isn't that atrocious. " He rebutted.

"Mmmm, but compared to Keith or something? Pretty laaammmme."

"Pidge why are you so—so invasive?" Matt huffed, crossing his arms in irritation. Pidge had never been like this before. Then again, Matt never had a girl he was interested in back on Earth for Pidge to bother him about.

"Because, I don't want my older brother to grow up as a lonely, old, crazy computer man."

    "I wouldn't!"

"Oh, yes you would." Pidge clenched her jaw in amusement and laughed.

Matt rubbed his face in exasperation and leaned back in the chair. "Why are you eating anyways, it's almost dinner." He pointed out, trying to change the topic.

"I'm always hungry." She responded dryly like it was the one thing he should have known about his sister. "Speaking of which..."

Pidge's movements were so quick, Matt had no chance to react. Suddenly his shirt was soaked with some kind of Altean drink that smelt absolutely putrid, making him gag. "PIDGE!"

Like the green paladin had planned for it to happen, Hunk came screaming over the castles intercom. "EVERYBODY GET TO DINNER! PLEASE!"

Hunks urgency either meant the food would get cold quick, or he really was on board with Pidge's plan. Whatever it was.

"Here, I'll take your shirt to the laundry for you!" Pidge offered with a wide, cheeky smile.

"It's my only shirt." Matt sighed. "I'll clean up. Make sure Hunk saves some for me."

"Nuh uh," Pidge waved her finger in the air. "Give it to me. I'll meet you there in a couple minutes."

"Pidge, what the heck?!" Matt whined.

"Give itttttt..." Pidge stepped forwards, and for someone so small, she was terrifying. Even more so than Y/N. He did as told, seeing as how he had no other option, and awkwardly ambled to the kitchen, shivering due to the cold air on his back. How he'd explain this to everyone? No clue. He did his best to wrap his arms around his upper body but it was completely useless.

Y/N and Shiro had just arrived as Hunk called out that dinner was ready and they began walking towards the kitchen. When they made it to the doors, a ruckus was very obviously breaking out as they could hear hollering from inside.

"No shoes, no shirt, no service!" Hunk yelled in disgust. Y/N just laughed and kept walking forwards into the kitchen.

"What are you doing?! We're you raised on a farm?" Lance screamed.

"This isn't a restaurant, Hunk!" Matt's hoarse voice called back.

"World war three?" Y/N questioned to Pidge who was smirking to herself as she dished up some dinner.

"Yep." Pidge muttered back, taking a scoop of the food, turning towards the commotion. Y/N jumped up on the counter, and just as she took a bite of her food, she caught sight of a shirtless Matt arguing with Lance over the table. She nearly choked, laughing violently, drawing everyones attention.

"I'm ok." Y/N waved everyone off, trying to hold onto her pride. "Do continue with your antics."

Lance tried to start the argument back up, but Matt pushed away from the table. "Can I just eat dinner? It was Pidge who caused this." Matt complained.

"Don't get mad at me!" Pidge fired back. "It was an accident."

"Ah, yeah, sure." Matt pouted his lips and began to eat.

"C'mon, Matt. There's some clean clothes at the training deck." Y/N laughed and began to make her way towards the door, waving for the boy to follow.

Matt disregarded his food begrudgingly and nervously stood up, following Y/N out the door, rubbing his arms from the cold. Once they left, Pidge raised her fist in silent victory, everyone else in the kitchen sending confused glances towards her.

"This place is succumbing to anarchy." Lance threw his hands to his face.

"Lance, calm down." Keith rolled his eyes.

"WE HAVE NAKED PEOPLE RUNNING AROUND! THE. PLACE. IS. IMPLODING." He screamed once more before Hunk shoved some food in his mouth. That made Lance forget about the chaos pretty quickly.
