Rell's P.O.V:

"Wake up Rell! You need to wake up! Dad's calling you!" I heard as voice yell.

I groaned and turned to the other side, slowly drifting back to sleep.

"Wake the fuck up you little-" I suddenly sat up and glared at him.

"Don't you dare call me that ever again," I growled at him and got out of bed, stretching my body in the process.

"I'll be down in a few minutes as long as you leave me in peace," I stated and crossed my arms over my chest.

Yes, I do know what kind of message that gesture gives.

I had always been tired of him thinking that he is the boss of me.

But I never had the guts, right mind nor time to tell him until just recently when he reached my last nerve and I blew up.

I surprised both of us but it was worth it.

I have had peace of mind for two weeks straight and he has co-operated with me.

It has been much better and I am proud of myself for blowing up like that on that day.

As soon as I said that, he walked straight to the door, stepped out and closed the door behind him.

I did as I said and dressed up, collected my stuff and walked down the stairs while saying hi to everyone I came across.

Everyone in the pack house seemed like they had just finished getting ready for the day and it was time for all of us to converge in the dining room for breakfast.

And as usual, I sat between Anna and Cal, my two best friends.

"Morning guys," I greeted.

Cal already had a whole pancake in his mouth.

"Morning sweetie," Anna replied and Cal just responded with a wave.

I got myself served as we all talked about how exciting it seems to now join the university.

I wanted a fun but quiet life for after high school.

My high school life was the worst and indeed the most overstated.

I was the genius in school, and as obvious as it is, everyone would take advantage of me and use me.

But now I can change that.

"What surprises me most though is how you haven't gone for all your certificates from high school yet," Cal says and I shrug it off.

I have never forgotten anything in my life. I never forgot about the certificates but I just pretended to.

I didn't want to go back to that school, long story short.

But I was well aware that I had to do so at some point in my life.

"Why didn't you come with us when we went back?" Anna questioned curiously and I looked at her in disbelief.

"Dad was made the official alpha of the pack that day, remember?" I asked in response and my eyes automatically landed at the end of the long table where my dad was seated.

"I had to be there that day," I continued and smiled while still looking at him.

Ever since that day, neither mom nor dad had much time to spend with me. But I'm not complaining.

Only because Dad had agreed to accompany me to school today and overall; spend time with me.

It's one of the best things I could get in life and I appreciate every single one of such things.

"He's taking you today?" Anna asked again and I nodded with a small smile playing at my lips.

"And we'll be back in the evening," I uttered and took the last bite of my sandwich.

"But we had plans today, remember?" she uttered and I made eye contact with her.

"What plans?" I innocently asked and she literally palmed her face.

"Amusement park Rell," Cal whined, refreshing my memory for the first time this year.

"Oh shit," I said and put my face in my palms, "I forgot-" they cut me off in unison

"For once."

After some friendly back and forth banter, they agreed to go without me at some point and I was entirely grateful to have friends like them.

When my father stood from his seat, the table fell silent to listened to him speak.

"Good morning everyone. I'll be brief because there is somewhere I need to be today. I will leave William in charge of getting ready for our school going little ones who've already started shopping for school materials," he said and finished off with a 'good day everyone' before going back upstairs to his room.

Anna and Cal went to get ready for their day while I went to brush my teeth.

I picked my bag and went downstairs.

I was at the car and scrolling through my phone when dad appeared before me.

"Morning Kiddo!" he was really enthusiastic today.

"Morning dad," I gave him a hug and he hugged me back happily.

"My little girl is growing up so fast... and into a fine woman if I may say so myself," he winked at me and I smiled in embarrassment, trying to hide my face behind my hair.

"Dad! Seriously?" he laughed at my 'distress' and unlocked the car for us after calming down.

Once we were both settled in, we turned on the radio and sang along to a random song that was on.

I loved goofing off with my dad. It was clearly rare, but whenever we got the time to spend with each other, we would just enjoy it to the fullest.

The whole ride was plain fun. We cracked jokes and he kept on teasing me as he drove. I wouldn't want anything more in this world though.

At least he knows how much I usually need this release. Because of my good grades in high school, my classmates decided to put a lot of weight on my shoulders.

Basically, I used to do all their tests for them; they would always find a new way to cheat and I would be blackmailed into joining them.

I used to keep it all to myself but I somehow found myself telling my parents and my dad would always try his best to help keep my mind at peace.

My mom would be the 'take-action' parent and I would always rely on her to get rid of the suffering.

And neither of them ever disappointed.
